We're at the Montclair. It's independent living, but they have home health care agency in the building, and they are always available. My wife, for example, had heart tremors and they were up here immediately, and then they sent her to Mercy Hospital by ambulance. It's a five-story building with a central atrium. We're on the fourth of five floors. We have what was meant to be a two-bedroom apartment, but we use one of the rooms as an office for ourselves, and then there's the bedroom, the living room area, then a full kitchen and two full baths. There are a lot of activities here. They have church services on Sundays. The dining room is very accessible. They serve three meals a day and quite a range of choices. They always have a featured meal, but they also have other alternatives if you don't want to eat the featured meal. They have a full-time activities director. There's a beauty shop/barber shop in the building. The interaction with the staff is very good. The housekeeping staff are very helpful. There is full-time staff here 24 hours a day. The only complaint we have about this building is that they don't have assisted living in the building. We really wish they would have that, but other than that it's very good. We can't participate in all of the activities because there are too many. They have bridge and other card games. They have live music in the atrium several days a week. They have church services here. I don't personally attend that because we go to a different church, but they have a service here in the building. The night staff is extremely helpful. From 5:00 till 8:00 in the morning they have night staff here, which are not administrative, and they'll do anything we need. It's quite good.

We went to The Montclair. They were in the middle of a remodel, so I think it's going to be nice, but it was time to update everything. They still just had pull cords for an alert. They didn't have anything as a tracker for the resident. They were very friendly there. It just didn't seem as modern. They had carpets pulled up and they're repainting. We did have a price break. If they didn't remodel the room because the former resident had kept it so nice, that was going to save like $300 or $400 a month. We almost went with them just to save money, but once we visited other places that had a nicer atmosphere, we decided that it wasn't worth the money. They had a nice library, larger than any of the others. The person showing us around was very friendly and knew everybody by name. It felt homey. Also, they gave a Veterans discount and it would have affected my sister because she's a Veteran. I liked how they honored Veterans at Montclair. The staff got us started on looking into the programs that the Veterans Administration had. She seemed to know her job. However, they needed a $2000 buy-in and you had to pay that up front, and there was no refund if you changed your mind, so that was kind of off-putting. By now, they probably have their new updated facility. They were earnest, and it looked like they were making good progress on their remodel.

The Montclair is doing a remodel. So everything is going to be very nice when they're done, but then they were still in the process of remodeling so it was kind of unsettling. You still couldn't see where the library and where the common kitchen were because it was under construction. The prices were quite a bit higher than the other ones. The apartments were very nice, they're remodeled and new with new carpet, new fixtures, and new bathrooms. They also had a full calendar of activities, there were even people there playing music when I was there, and that was nice.

The Montclair is beautiful. The staff was very nice. The food was very good. They were remodeling, so it wasn't up to par when we were there, but it will be very nice. The apartment was gorgeous. I liked it. I love the kitchen. It had extra storage, which I like. The closet in the bedroom was large. They have a salon, an exercise room, and a library.

We chose The Montclair Senior Living for my grandfather. It was very geared towards most levels of senior living, that they tried to get their residents to get together, but if they don't want to, then that's OK. You can hire nursing staff to help as they need more help as well on-site, which is nice. My grandfather calls it fancy in a complimentary way, and I have heard that the food there is wonderful. They have an annual Christmas party that is a huge hit, and that food is wonderful. It's restaurant-style as well, and you can also order your food up. They have quite a few activities. They have somebody that comes in and plays piano and accordion, and there's a few choir groups that come. They also have bridge clubs and bingo, and if you want to be active, you can be. The building is under construction.

We went to The Montclair. That would be the one that I would pick if I had to finally narrow it down to one. The dining room experience was really, really impressive. The waiters, the tour guides, Kathy and Kelly, they were so topnotch, so pleasing, and even offered us to come back and have a trial stay. They would be at the top of that list. It's all really nice. The food was tremendous, it was the best of any place we went.

The inside of The Montclair was very spacious. When you walk in, there's a big, area. The rooms are really nice and very spacious. They have their own laundry facility in each room. They have a beauty shop, and they have a library too. They have a room that if you're a family member that you could come and stay at. The staff was very nice. It was a lot more homey. The dining room was well lit. I don't think it was as big as some of them, but they were having a Mother's Day tea that day. It was just something that we came into. We didn't have our mother with us at all, but they were having a lot of fun.

My husband and I just moved into The Montclair. We think it's lovely. The staff is very nice and very helpful. We have a two-bedroom, two-bath. They have numerous activities, but we haven't been involved yet. We're just trying to get settled. They have a library, an exercise room, dance classes, flower arranging, and t'ai chi -- just the regular activities that go on in a senior care. We've enjoyed the food we've had so far.

The Montclair was well kept and almost immaculate. It's five buildings in one. Each is an independent hall that connects in the center, and it's modern. The staff member was accommodating and very helpful. They showed me multipurpose rooms where they have activities, the social areas, and an actual room. One of the residents let us into their studio apartment.

The Montclair was a more upscale, gorgeous facility, but it was more for someone used to upscale living. The rooms were huge and beautiful with gorgeous plush carpeting, and everything was wonderful. The dining room was almost like a 4- or 5-star restaurant, and they had a huge menu.

The Montclair is very attractive, and it's very clean, but the rooms seem awfully small, and they seemed a little crowded. I would love to be there.

The Montclair was fine, but you could tell that it was an older facility. It had a slight smell to it, but everyone was very nice. There were plenty of activities going on. The dining area looked like a small restaurant. They had a band and a comedian when we were there. A calendar was posted on the board showing different activities during the week.

I visited The Montclair. I liked the apartments. It seemed like they had a little entry way to them, and they felt just a little roomier that the other one we visited. They had a great atrium. I thought they were 4 stories up, but you could look down in the center, and they had a grand piano down there. It was nice. I did not like the dining room, but we did not have any meals there. They had a nice activity room. They had a lot of exercise groups going on. It was a nice facility. I thought there were 7 acres of ground around it, and that was really nice. It had a lot of nice landscaping.

One thing that I like about The Montclair the most is that my Aunt Virginia is there. She’s my dad’s sister, and she likes it a lot. I like the activities and security that they have. We had a meal that was very good. They have a library, a movie theater, and Wii bowling. They take them over to Wal-Mart. Everybody is happy there. They serve three meals a day and have a beauty salon, a grand piano in the lobby that some can play, and a book club. If they need to go to the doctor, there is a shuttle bus that will take them over there. The groceries are delivered. In the hallways, they have a storm shelter that I like.

My father has been at the Montclair for over 5 years and he loves it. We live on the east coast and visit as often as we can, but we are so grateful to have found the Montclair, here where he wants to live. Both his apartment and the common spaces are attractive and kept very nicely. They support the residents in many activities and trips and interests - trips to concerts and gardens and sports, bridge and games and singing and tai chi and movies and many more. The staff and the residents are just plain nice here - cheerful and joking and kind. They take good care of each other. The food is tasty and wholesome and there are many ways to get a little exercise. And if Dad is feeling under the weather, they are in close touch and can offer other kinds of support, such as meals in his apartment. The Montclair is a real find. I cannot imagine a nicer place for an older person to live. I thank them for being there for my 98 yea old father.

My dad is happy at The Montclair. It is a great place. I like best that they did all the paperwork for him, being a veteran, and got him qualified. In terms of activities, they have everything there. They have card games, bingo, etc. They have a TV room. They have great entertainment for their residents. They would have live music. They even have a grand piano in the center of the hallway where people can play and perform. They also take them out to shopping once a week. They take them to Branson, MO. They also have a church there onsite.
