The Abbey Care Center

Overall, Abbey Care Center is an average nursing home. Some of its nurses seem to care about the residents, but many of them are always very grouchy and don't seem to care about much of anything except when their next break is. They take forever to do just about anything and usually finish what they are doing before assisting with residents and visitors. The food is, from what my father-in-law tells me, pretty good. The residents always have plenty to eat and activities, but the home has an odor to it. It isn't very clean for somewhere where people have to live. I think that the staff could definitely keep the place cleaner. The supervisors seem like they try to help, at least in front of the visitors, but my father-in-law tells me he never gets his mail unless he goes to the front to get it and that his paperwork is sometimes left for weeks without getting done. Abbey Care Center has some good workers, decent food, and many residents have their own rooms, but they need to actually care about the residents more and keep the place a lot cleaner than it is. I rated it a two star which might even be a little generous.
