I toured Crystal Oaks. It's kept up, well updated, very clean, and the rooms were very nice. The staff was nice and cheerful. They just did a tour of everything and answered any questions I had. It was a safe community.

My mom stayed at Crystal Oaks. The facility was clean. The care was good. The only thing that we didn't like was that the dietary restrictions weren't followed. The staff members were all very pleasant. They cared for my mother and did their job, so I thought that they were very good. I think that they did have a few activities, but my mom did not participate in them. My mom was only there for like 13 days, so the only thing she did was physical therapy while she was there. It was all paid for by her insurance.

My mother-in-law is in Crystal Oaks. I like that it's small and intimate. The staff know all the residents. It's very peaceful. There are nice areas to walk outside and sit. They have bingo and ample opportunity to interact with the other residents. They have outdoor activities. There's a bus that could take them places. They offer three meals a day, laundry services, and a salon. The staff is very helpful.

My mom was a resident of Crystal Oaks, and the place was fine. It was clean and nice enough, and the staff members were all very helpful and friendly. The regular food in the dining area was good, although my mom only had pureed food, which she didn't like. They also have activities for the residents like bingo, games like balloon toss, and they also have church services. The value for the money is comparable to the other places around.

My mother has been here for almost 2 years. She can be a handful to care for, They have been very patient, but persistent that she participates in her care (walks at least part way to the dining room, etc.). Because of this, her functioning in activities of daily living has actually increased since she was admitted. The place is clean and food is adequate (it is "cafeteria food"). When my Dad visits, he often eats with her and has good things to say about the food.

The website makes it look like such a wonderful place, with people running it who just love the geriatric population. Well don't be fooled by any of this, as it is the furthest thing from the truth. The turn over rate is extremely high. The nursing staff is overworked, as I see them in there day after day for multiple shifts. If you have a relative staying there do not let them do their laundry, not only might it get lost, but you might see it on someone else. It ridiculous the way they treat their residents. They sit in their wheelchairs, in front of the TV, by the nurses station for hours. It takes forever for anyone to answer a call light, and your relative may lay in their own urine all night before they are changed. Look elsewhere, or be sure you are very involved in the care.

My father is a resident of Crystal Oaks Assisted Living facility. It doesn't really meet the rosy picture which was painted for us when we decided to place him there. The staff turn-over rate is very high. Many times when I visit in the evening, I can't find anyone to ask questions. There hasn't been a full time nurse on duty for several months now. The décor is very outdated. Residents complain about the food regularly. I've been told that Crystal Oaks is the best facility in our area, but I'm really hoping there is something better. I've been to two facilities in the St. Louis area which are MUCH nicer for about the same amount of money.

The Oaks is a newer facility, and it’s very nice. The food is a lot better since when my husband was there before. The people there are very nice. Nothing really stands out, but I just want my husband closer to me because I go every day.

Crystal Oaks is a really great place. We are more than happy with it for my mom. They have good meals. The place is very clean. They do laundry every day for the people and clean the rooms every day. They give her medication and help her with her shower. They have good activities and take rides around the community to get them out and about. They are very nice and friendly people. Her room is very spacious.

We chose Crystal Oaks for my mom because it's close to where my dad lives. She has been in the nursing facility for two months now and it seems that my mom gets good care there. Sometimes the staff gets mixed up with some of the orders, but overall it has been pretty good. They have a really good rehab center. Mom has a basic room with a bed and a storage closet. She has a roommate. They do a lot of activities like kickball and bingo. They have people come in and play music. They also do sing along. They have an arts and crafts room. They do keep them busy all the time and that is great. The food is pretty good and they have a lot of selection.

This is a wonderful facility-my Mom is in assisted living here and loves every minute of it. All the staff is so caring and loving and takes great care of all her wants and needs. It is always clean and comfortable and decorated beautifully. It is a wonderful place for loved ones to live when they can no longer live alone. Highly recommend!
