The Sheridan at Creve Coeur

I went to The Sheridan at Creve Coeur. I told them what my needs were, and they were very nice. The units were clean and modern. It was a positive environment. They had shared rooms. They seemed to keep people very active. They had bingo games and religious services, and I was satisfied with them.

My ex-husband has been here for almost three weeks now. It's very clean, and they are very careful with COVID protocols. We had an incident last night, but they dealt with it and assured us that they are going to address it. He's got Alzheimer's, and he gets confused, stressed out, and becomes difficult to deal with. They said this is part of the process and they are addressing it It was a big relief to hear that this is not something that is going to cause problems. The staff is all very nice, very helpful, and very pleasant. His room provides enough room for personal items, but the goal is not to have the residents in their room though. They don't thrive if they are isolated. They want people to feel comfortable, but they don't want them staying in their rooms. He seemed very pleased with the food. He even gave them recipes of some dishes that he really likes. They promised to look at it and see if they could include them. They sent us pictures of him out in the garden. Other than gardening, they have people coming in and playing popular tunes for the residents. They get them together every single day and get them involved in activities. We've been very pleased with that. They got key cards as well, so the residents can't roam about independently. They have to have a staff member moving them if they want to go too far away. Under COVID, that is a good thing because we want to make sure he's safe.

We have chosen them for my husband. He has moved in and I think it is a good decision. They are allowing me to spend time with him. All the staff is really good as far as working with him, working with the family members and keeping the communication open. I dined with him and the food is very good. The overall place is really nice. They have activities, too.
