Shout out to Cookie, she is perfect for the position with her kind, loving and bubbly spirit. She shows each of her residence that she cares and by keeping their spirits high with all of her wonderful activities. There is no gloom and doom at this facilities. Just love and compassion. Thanks to Cookie for a job of love and human compassion that we rarely see these days.

I have a friend from church who was a resident at Lahser Hills Care Centre, and I also became a volunteer in their nursing home. The facility was well-kept, and it was clean. The nurses and greeters at the door were friendly and informative. They were very interested in activities for their residents when I brought to them the idea of implementing a Bible study. The rooms were also clean. I'm not good with measurements but the size was good for 2 people so I would characterize them as large.

I was very disappointed. Conditions were not good, the smell was terrible, and facility did not have an overall look of cleanliness. There were so many employees walking around, chatting at the desk and looking somewhat busy. Had to wonder what they were actually doing. Any supervisors, managers? Or is it a free-for-all (it was a Saturday).

I had a brother-in-law that was at Lahser Hills Care Center for about 2 years. They were basic rooms, basic paint, nothing fancy and flowery, but clean and neat. It’s not as expensive as some of the other ones. There was some staff that really showed concern about the people, was helpful and friendly, and would answer questions when you asked them. They took care of him. They were dedicated to their work. They updated you with events that occurred. Overall, it was a good stay for him.

Confusion over who checked on patients last amongst staff. Finance department lost Medicaid application and didn't handle paperwork properly. Staff members bickered with each other. Wasn't a good variety of food. Clean in lobby, common area, but personal rooms needed more attention.

I visited Lasher Hill Nursing Center about a year ago in 2010. In general, I thought Lasher Hill was a nice clean facility for someone who is looking for a nursing home, for a friend or family member to live. The grounds of the facility are nice and well maintained. The common areas of the facility are nice and the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful. The residents' rooms are nice and clean and they are well kept by the housekeeping staff there and the facility doesn't smell. The staff and management of the facility are nice, professional and team, task, oriented. I think the residents receive very good care there and are treated nice and respected. Lasher Hill is not a very fancy or elegant facility. It is less plain and simple but it is clean, well maintained, and doesn't smell it is more contemporary. While I was there, I noticed that the dining room area was really nice and the décor was matching the carpet and walls and was coordinated very well. The food looked good and the residents conveyed to me that it tasted good also. The residents looked nice and clean though there were a few residents wandering the hallway of the facility unattended but they were not bothering anyone. I would give Lasher Hill Nursing Center a four star rating in all areas. Overall, Lasher Hill Nursing Center is a good placement and I would recommend it to anyone 50 and over that are not very mobile and are looking for a placement nursing home because they would like it there and they would receive good care there.
