"Simply upon driving up to the facility it was evident that it was a very nice place to live. The landscaping was very well maintained, the building looked nice, it overall simply looked like a great place to live. Upon entering the facility I was greeted by a warm, welcoming lobby area with friendly staff. When I went to visit my Great Grandma she seemed very happy and is doing as great as ever, no doubt thanks to Fox Run. She is not a very active person but according to her there are lots of activities for the people who live there to take part in like swimming in a swimming pool, walking or running on treadmills in the workout room, she even talked about how she watched some of her friends play pool/ Overall she seems to be very happy their, and I feel safe and secure knowing that my family made the decision to put her within such a friendly, accepting, wonderful community. "

"Oakmont Northville was very nice and very clean. It had a lot of parking spaces. The people there were very happy. I didn’t see any shortcomings with the people and the appearance of the place. It was a very large place with a lot of residents, but my husband preferred a smaller place. Their activities were pretty good. They had a chapel and an exercise room."

"I was very surprised with how big Oakwood Commons facilities were. They had different buildings and different floors for people of all medical backgrounds. There were some areas for people that were married, some for people that had a lot of memory problems, and areas for those who needed extra medical attention. The staff seemed nice enough, but not many were overly friendly or welcoming to me even though it was obvious I was not used to that kind of environment. The facilities were very clean, and they had cleaning men and women consistently coming in and out of rooms while I was visiting. The building themselves were very organized and there were lots of areas for the patients to socialize and interact and it seemed like many staff knew their patients in their area by name. Overall it was a pretty positive volunteering experience, and I learned a lot about what goes on in assisted living homes. "

"My parents are residents of the independent living of Waltonwood at University, and we like the place very much. The dinner-time food could probably be a little bit better, but overall, we're very pleased with it. The staff is very friendly, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the residents. It's very pretty there, the grounds are pretty, and the facilities are very nice. It's also in a good location. My parents did not get one of the remodelled rooms, but their room is very clean, they painted it and everything, so it's very nice. The only problem would be that the balcony is in need of repair, but they're getting that done. It's a good enough size for two people. I like the dining area, it's a very open and area, and it's set up restaurant style so it's very nice. They have a lot of activities, there are about four to five a day, and my mother has gotten involved in Sit and Be Fit, walking club, Wii bowling, and the garden club. I would rate their food with a three because my mother isn't really happy with the dinners."

"I moved to Victoria Square. I like that it's senior living, so you're dealing with just seniors. They have a great community where they do things in their lobby or a little get-together at certain times. I like that it's secured where you need a key or be buzzed in, and no one can walk into your building. I also like that, in senior living, they cap you at a certain amount depending on your status, as far as you can pay, so they can't increase your rent like if you were in a regular apartment. The staff is pleasant. They have bingo and programs. They keep the facility clean and have maintenance people come through. I like that they have garbage storage on each floor and make sure to clean them daily so you don't smell anything throughout the building. As for the value, it's average. It's not a bad price for what you're getting."

"Facility is kept always clean and tidy. Rooms are big with enough place to move around. My husband is taken care very well. Meals are cooked onsite and are nutritious. Caregivers are compassionate and are friendly with their residents. Health administrator is knowledgeable and is always available when required."

"The name of the facility is Waltonwood at Cherry Hill. We chose it because it is a nice community, and it had a homey feel. It didn't feel like you were put in a situation where you were put in a basement with a 'People who couldn’t help themselves' sign. They have activities all day long, and the staff is friendly. My husband has only been here since December, and so far, this is the best month. The rooms are nice. They got furniture in it. It has a closet, private bath, bed, and dressers. I would do like to see more nursing staff here in case someone gets sick. They do have a doctor here on staff, but he comes in once a week. "

"I went to Hampton Manor of Clinton. It's new, and there are not a lot of people there too. The place is beautiful, and the staff from what I encountered was very nice. There are a lot of things about it I liked. That was a nice experience, they were very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The facility was very nice, I liked that everything was on one floor. They even have their little patios for a lot of the rooms. And right now, they're running the specials too, it's for six months. The rooms were nice-sized, and everybody has their own individual rooms. They're very caring, and I felt that they're concerned with my needs. The staff asked me a lot of questions and gave suggestions on how they could help. I liked her a lot. They showed the cafeteria, and everything was clean. They're not near capacity, and there weren't a lot of people there."

"The Rivers Grosse Pointe was a nice place. The lady showed me one room, and it was nice. They have swimming and other recreation. They had enough amenities."

"Presbyterian Village East is a top-notch assisted living facility. I was a little surprised at how friendly the staff and the residents were when they greeted me. The living quarters are very spacious and lavish. I didn't get to see all of them, as it looks like there are quite a few different kinds on the grounds. I did see that there are isolated little homes for people that might be of high function. This would probably be a great option for someone who is pretty self reliant, yet needs a little bit of help. I think this facility is one of the more aesthetically pleasing of all the places I have been. It's comfortable and it looks like someone has an obsessive love of keeping the place clean and smelling nice, which are two great qualities. I would recommend Presbyterian Village East, I am not sure of the cost, but I think if you can afford it, you would be most comfortable here. "
