"I visited a family friend here several times. The grounds were off of the main road in a pretty wooded area. The assisted-living facility was welcoming and clean on the inside. The staff were very friendly. There were many activities available for the residents, and various themed dinners and experiences were planned on a monthly basis. I was very impressed with the respect that seemed to be given to the residents. One of the best assisted-living communities I have visited. "

"Facility is kept always clean and tidy. Rooms are big with enough place to move around. My husband is taken care very well. Meals are cooked onsite and are nutritious. Caregivers are compassionate and are friendly with their residents. Health administrator is knowledgeable and is always available when required."

"My Dad at Marycrest Manor almost 30 days, came home 2 days before Christmas. EVERYONE WAS AMAZING!! And I mean EVERYONE!! Nurses, Cnas, Kitchen Staff, Housekeeping, PT and OT where always available to my Day and even when I called late at night someone there to give me an update. I would HIGHLY RECCOMEND Marycrest Manor. "

"Fox Run was one of the best and the most expensive facilities I've looked into. Everything is very nice, well-organized, and well-planned. They also have lot of activities for the residents. "

"I went to Hampton Manor of Clinton. It's new, and there are not a lot of people there too. The place is beautiful, and the staff from what I encountered was very nice. There are a lot of things about it I liked. That was a nice experience, they were very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The facility was very nice, I liked that everything was on one floor. They even have their little patios for a lot of the rooms. And right now, they're running the specials too, it's for six months. The rooms were nice-sized, and everybody has their own individual rooms. They're very caring, and I felt that they're concerned with my needs. The staff asked me a lot of questions and gave suggestions on how they could help. I liked her a lot. They showed the cafeteria, and everything was clean. They're not near capacity, and there weren't a lot of people there."

"My parents moved into Oakmont Northville more than a month ago. The staff seems to be very friendly. There's no interaction with them unless you need them, but they're very helpful. The grounds are very nice, very clean, and very well maintained. The food is excellent. They have 2 nightly specials, and they get 3 meals a day. They play bingo and they go to happy hours. They had a Mother's Day lunch and that was nice. They do offer an activity bus every Friday, and they go to the grocery store, the Dollar Tree, and the pharmacy. They also have access to a chauffeur if they need to go to dental appointments or wherever they need to be. They also have a doctor that comes to the facility once a week. They have a beauty shop on the premises. They have a theater, an activity room, and a library. The other thing that Oakmont Northville offers is they have emergency call buttons in the apartment. They have four of them in the room, and each resident gets one, either a necklace or a wristband, that they wear. It's a great value for the price."

"My father was at Oakwood. They let him go home with kidney disease. He came home too early. When he got out, he was back in the hospital. In my eyesight, he got out too early. I wouldn't recommend this place again. The rooms were nice, and that part was good. I like the way they had it set up so that the family can come and visit him. We sat in the room with the TV and were able to play games. The physical therapy person was good too. But if my father had an infection in his kidney, he should have known before he left. When he told them he was having a problem urinating, they said he wasn't there to treat him for that. My father also said there wasn't enough food, and it was the same old thing. Cleanliness was OK. It was nice and decent, but I didn't like the way that they didn't treat him for everything. "

"We visited the Rivers Grosse Pointe, it was very nice, and the apartments were nice, but mother is not ready to downsize. They have washers and dryer in the apartment, their dining area is in an atrium, so it’s nice and open, and they have a pub where you can get sandwiches, soup, fruit, and ice cream during the day. They didn’t have outdoor spaces, and that’s a drawback. Most of the activities were exercise classes like chair yoga, you can sign up for bridge, and they take them out on field trips. It was nice and new, but they don’t have parking. It’s in a good location, they offered three meals, and the staff was really good."

"I moved to Victoria Square. I like that it's senior living, so you're dealing with just seniors. They have a great community where they do things in their lobby or a little get-together at certain times. I like that it's secured where you need a key or be buzzed in, and no one can walk into your building. I also like that, in senior living, they cap you at a certain amount depending on your status, as far as you can pay, so they can't increase your rent like if you were in a regular apartment. The staff is pleasant. They have bingo and programs. They keep the facility clean and have maintenance people come through. I like that they have garbage storage on each floor and make sure to clean them daily so you don't smell anything throughout the building. As for the value, it's average. It's not a bad price for what you're getting."

"Waltonwood was so expensive. The staff was very pleasant. That is the one place where the woman tried her hardest to make sure that I went there. She was really selling the place. The room was nice, but I didn't think it was safe for my father because he needed greater supervision. The dining area was very nice. They had a lot of activities. The place was very well maintained; however, it wasn't diverse enough for me. For a father with dementia, you want a little more familiarity as he would be the only black person there. "

"When mom was first admitted to the TCU Transitional care unit I was so happy with the special care and attention she received. The nurses and aides as well as the staff members treat her with tenderness and kindness always. "
