Hope Woods Senior Community was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. They have a calendar with something going on just about every day. They keep everybody very busy. If you want to be busy, you can be. If you want to go play euchre in the library or the game room, you can do that. The staff was very friendly and nice. She did a great tour.

There is NO power generator! We had an ice-storm and the power was out for DAYS. Imagine all of these apartments with NO heat. Now imagine that you have some mobility restriction and live above the ground floor; NO elevator. Now imagine that you need to rely on electric power for Oxygen. There was a fireplace in the lobby and some cold pizza provided. Of course you might not be able to get down to the lobby, and if you got there you might not be able to breathe. If you can get back to your apartment it will be 60 degrees and getting colder while the food in your fridge spoils. So much for Day 2. I was able to rescue my friend for days 3 - 5. This is just NOT ACCEPTABLE! How can there be NO GENERATOR in MICHIGAN for these poor people?

Our tour to Hope Woods Senior Community was a very good experience. There were lots of woods around and it's very well-secluded. It's a smaller facility and it just seemed very nice. There were lots of places to walk the dog and it was very clean and quiet. The manager was wonderful. We had some trouble getting our time together and she just worked with us until we got a time that would work for us both. She was so helpful and so nice. They were going to have a happy hour just as we were leaving, but they also have other things to do. They have therapy, a gym, crafts, card games, bingo three nights a week, and other daily things. They offered a lot. The rooms were nicely laid out, bright, cheerful, and exceptionally very nice. Entryways were also nice. I was just very impressed with the room.

We actually ended up going with a senior apartment for my parents. It is called Hope Woods. It is fairly new -- it is not even 10 years old. I really like the staff. They are very knowledgeable. There are a lot of amenities like it has a weight room, an exercise room, and a little movie theater, and they do a lot of activities.

A very poorly run facility, they operated a salon for over 7 years that was unlicensed. Became licensed only after being reported. Wiring is substandard, leading to a significant fire in 2012. Plumbing substandard as well, often leaking. From 2004 to 2011 they experienced 147 false fire alarms, most between the hours of 12:30 and 1:00 AM. Poor attic Vents lead to extensive building icing in winter.

This senior living apartments is great. They offer a bus for grocery's/Dr. appts. and trips. Hair salon in building. A nice dinning room and many activities to keep all busy. The inside of the building is super attractive and warm. Outdoors is really decorated with flowers/plants. Super nice place to call home.
