I visited Sheffield Manor and the whole community is marginal. I wouldn't say it's the lowest and they're also not the best. The staff is sometimes helpful and sometimes not. The rooms need to be updated. It could be the right fit for the right type of person. They can improve on customer service.

I am a family member of a resident of Madonna Nursing Center. In general, I thought Madonna Nursing Center was a good choice for someone who is looking for a low income, or low rate nursing facility for a friend or family member. Madonna Nursing Center is also a good choice for someone that is desperate and in need of a placement for a friend of family member that also may not have any resources available to them. The grounds of the facility are nice and well maintained and the landscape was also well maintained. The common areas of the facility are also nice and the surrounding neighborhood is of an urban setting and development in the city of Detroit, Michigan. The residents' rooms are more plain and simple with just ordinary white walls and white bedding but the rooms were clean and did not smell. The staff and management of the facility are nice and performed their job duties and performance well. I think the residents get good care there. While I was there, I noticed that the residents were wandering the halls unattended and that there wasn’t any staff in sight. I also noticed that some residents were wandering in and out of other residents rooms while being unattended. I would have to give Madonna a three star rating for its performance. Overall, Madonna and Nursing Center is a decent facility for low income or for a person who is on a fixed income with limited resources available to them. I would recommend it to everyone, anyone, and to anyone 50 and over that are looking for a placement for someone who is low income or on a fixed low rate income or a person that may not have any resources available to them. I know that they might do well there and I know that they might like it there.
