It's a good size, modern, and clean. They have a garden, an activity center, arts and crafts, and music. He just hasn't started there yet."

"She is in the Valon Memory Care for three years now, and we were very impressed with it. She seems to be happy where she is, and I have no problem with her care. They have doctors and a registered nurse on call. It’s a pretty bare facility, but they have cottages. She was raised $300 a month because she was incontinent, but I’m satisfied. They have a nurse that comes in and gives them prescriptions in the morning. "

"Mirabella Assisted Living is clean and there are no cockroaches. The upkeep is good. The staff has been good. The place is fairly close to where I live. They have movies, bingo, and happy hours. They also have family night in December. I love the fact that they each have their own apartment. My mom's apartment is big and has a huge walk-in closet, which is very nice."

"Brookdale Tanglewood Oaks was very good. I saw the entire unit. I did get a chance to see their more dementia-related activities. They have a large garden where the patients can go out and sit. They have music playing throughout the facility. The setup was great and it's geared toward the patients. The staff has been very good and working with me to assure that I'm making the proper placement. They're assisting me with avenues of how I can make that happen. They show a very good interest in what our needs are versus the patient just being a dollar sign."

"Lynridge of Arlington Assisted Living and Memory Care was nice. The staff was very friendly. The only thing we had a problem with is that it is right on the highway. It has a little bit of difficulty getting in and out of it, just the way the roads are set up over there. They have a sales person that took us on the tour, and she didn't have a lot of the information that we wanted to ask about. That was one of the drawbacks. She's more of a sales and marketing person. She would have to find other people to get answers to a lot of the questions. The dining area was nice-looking. It was all clean and well-kept. It was a little more difficult finding your way around the building the way it was set up."

"Walnut Creek seems nice, and it's working for us. My husband's apartment is very clean. The staff is friendly. The food is nice and satisfying. They have bingo and cards, and that's pretty much what I have observed."

"The tour was very pleasant. The lady who gave us the tour was very patient, answered questions, and was very nice. The place was very clean and very homelike. They had a garden. The outdoors was pleasant and you could be out there. The layout was good. I liked outside of each room, there was a personal space for the tenant living in there to decorate their door, and set things up outside to personalize their room."

"The tour at Brookdale Westover Hills was good. The only thing is we barely saw any residents out and about, and maybe that was a fluke, but my mom and I didn't like that. We wanted to see more people interacting in the social areas, and we didn't. Maybe we came at a bad time. My mom's very loving and she's very friendly, and she wants people to be around and up and about, and that place was like everybody was in their rooms. The staff who gave the tour was great. The room or apartment was like a mid-level hotel. The upkeep looks fine. The dining area was much smaller than the other place we toured, but it was a smaller facility. It looked like it had cafeteria-style dining. They weren't utilizing their dining room because of COVID, but they were reopening the dining room this week."

"I have friends at Meadowbrook Memory Care Community. It's just great in every way except they don't have a nurse who can take care of my husband. The staff was very accommodating. It's well kept. It's in a nice neighborhood and near a park. I suggest they get a registered nurse who can take care of a person with type 1 diabetes. The rooms were very nice and big. They had an activity area and a courtyard. They had a salon, but nobody was in there. It's a beautiful facility."

"We moved my dad to Bristol Park in Cleburne. He moved in at the beginning of the month. It's a lot cheaper and they are very nice. The staff there are wonderful. I think I've made friends with a couple of them. They waived the community fee for us which was $3000 and they let me negotiate my price. They're new. All their apartments aren't filled yet, so they're trying to get full. Even the executive director was in my dad's room, cutting his meat up for him and helping him eat. My dad's also legally blind, so everybody really goes in and helps him. This place is wonderful. The facility is beautiful. It looks like a 5-star hotel. They also have a petting zoo where they have donkeys and goats that people can feed. They can meet them at the fence and they can eat out of your hands. They have all kinds of activities daily for them to do. They have DirectTV and the internet, too. I haven't been involved in any activities, but it looks like they have a lot and they're willing to add more for just my dad's interests."

"My husband is in Oxford Glen at Grand Prairie. Their program is good, and they're very attentive to their patients, and they make sure that whatever issues they're dealing with, they address them in a timely fashion. We really haven't had any problems. The only problem that we've had is my husband himself. He doesn't want to be there, which he has never wanted to be in any facility. They had everything that he needed, and the price was right. So not only economically, but to get him in a facility where he could get the same care he was getting before, without spending everything I had, that was great. The only thing is they don't have their own transportation, but they got me in contact with someone who was reasonable because he goes to dialysis three times a week, plus he goes to his doctor's appointment. Basically, it's a good place right now for him. The staff is excellent and very accommodating because they've gotten up at night and made snacks for him. Also, when he would go to his dialysis, they would always fix him a nice big lunch to eat. They made sure that he had everything that he needed. There are certain things that my husband doesn't like to eat, and so they'd fix special stuff for him that he likes to eat. The physical appearance is excellent. They keep everything clean. I bring his clothes up there from home, and then when he's getting low, they let me know. They keep me up-to-date on everything, as far as his clothing or his toiletries. My husband can't walk anymore, and he's in a wheelchair, but still, they bring him out into the TV room. He gets to be there with the rest of the people. They have people who come in and talk to them, and if somebody is having a birthday, they have a big celebration and sing. Value for money is great because he wasn't getting all of these at the other facilities he's been in. They know what their patients like and what they don't like, so they try to cater to each patient's needs."

"Brookdale Pecan Park has three buildings. One building is for higher-functioning people, and then you move to different buildings based on your decline. It had a very nice setting. It was set back and had a fence around it, which was one thing my mom liked. It had a lot of yards that you could walk in. It had a small courtyard. The rooms were nice. It was priced on the higher end of things, but it looked like you got services for those things. They have three different dining rooms. Their activities are in three different areas, so you would go to different buildings depending on what the activity was, which I think was a negative. The facility was very clean and bright. The director who gave us the tour was very energetic and very loving of her residents. The rooms were nice and updated. You had options for different rooms. The bathrooms were a good size. There was music playing. There was only one little sitting area, a dining area, and then the rest of the building was hallways and rooms. There were few people that we saw, and there was minimal interaction with residents. There were not any activities going on at the time we were there."
