"Several times I'd been at Sunrise to visit a resident. I had been extremely impressed not only with the courteousness, but the genuine warmth and interest that was displayed by the staff to visitors and residents alike. The staff was very upbeat, friendly and interactive. People made eye contact with a few "good mornings", "how are you" and "nice to see you". If they were pushing the cart or coming out of the room with sheets or whatever, it was at a nice pace, not frantic. The people genuinely were calm and they were going about their daily business in a very friendly, professional manner. I saw several staff out of the corner of my eye interacting with the residents in wheelchairs, so you didn't get the feeling people were just stuck in a room. You get the feeling that people are being attended to. One time we weren't sure which way to go, and a cleaning person asked if we needed help getting somewhere. There was a lot of attentiveness by the people who were employed there. There was somebody at the desk to greet you. It looked like it was kept very clean. I saw really good quality. In terms of my interactions though, I'll just speak to what I saw, I would give them a 5. "

"Sunrise of Dix Hills was very nice. We only saw the admissions lady. She took a review of what my mom was like. Everybody seemed very interested and genuinely helpful. They made us feel comfortable. When we went on the tour, everything was clean and smelled nice. The people that we saw were engaged. It's not like people were sitting around in a hallway, like in a nursing home, ignored. They were extremely strict. Everybody gets a temperature check. The staff is tested once a week. Everybody, as far as I know, and we were told that it's 100% vaccination. It's a mandate there. If people have COVID, they're quarantined to their room, and the staff has full PPE and they're monitored closely. We toured a private and a semi-private room and they were lovely. Everything is pretty much neutral colors, clean and bright. You're able to bring in your own pictures and furniture if you want. All the rooms have their own little kitchenette. There were a couple of covered patios with rocking chairs and benches, and there were a couple of gardens outside. It was cold, so we didn't go outside, but when we walked in, we got to see what was going on around the building. We were in the memory ward. It was very clean."

"I went to Sunrise of West Babylon. I saw all the rooms, the assisted living area, and the memory neighborhood. Both were shown to me. I did like the place. They just don't have a vacancy for my mother-in-law. I would be on the waiting list, which I haven't made a decision yet. I liked it. It's close to where we live so we can visit at any time if we are allowed to. Pricing was also reasonable. The place looks very clean, and they have a lot of activities for the residents. So I would like to put my mother-in-law there. Unfortunately, they don't have any openings. The staff is very nice, very helpful, and informative. The rooms were very clean, the ones shown to me were all very neat and clean. I see everyone's working. Everyone looked very happy and friendly. The menu was shown to me as well, and the dining area is very clean, everything is set up nicely. When I was having a tour, they were having exercises, they had a library and the patio was also shown to me. Exercises, movies and some residents are having some games and puzzles, so it's nice. "

"My aunt is a resident at Birchwood Suites. Its a very warm caring place. Very charming, clean and they take great care of her. They treat her like their family! The rooms are beautiful and very well decorated. An amazing property with great amenities Great Activities for her as well Birchwood Suites has been a blessing for my family, very affordable!! "Atria Park of Great Neck was very well maintained, and it was pretty brand new. They had just renovated the whole place. So, it was very fresh and clean, and very well staffed. Overall, the facility was very, very nice. They had painting classes and different medication departments. The medical staff that gives prescription medication, had a special little room for that. The yard and the balcony were nice with flowers. It was very pretty."

"The food has lots of options , they also have a wide range of entertainment that comes in for the clients."

"The Arbors Assisted Living at Islandia was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The reason that we didn't go with them is because they were too expensive and they don't take Medicaid. The dining area was very nice. It's kind of set up like a hotel. There is a community area. I saw the eating area, the outdoor patio, and the rooms."

"We toured the Esplanade of Woodmere. It was very clean. They had different-sized rooms, from suites to places with kitchenettes. It's a big living facility, so you have the choice of living facilities within the facility itself. The staff was very helpful. Whatever questions we had, they were able to answer."

"My grandmother lives at Sutton Gardens. I only have the greatest things to say about the quality of care she receives. Smaller caring community with great care and food. The staff is really caring and residents are well cared for. Great pricing and fully renovated. Check it out, well worth a visit."

"Wartburg is beautiful and amazing. It's a campus, but they have full service with nursing and rehab and different buildings on-site. It's a gated place with a large grass area. The setting is quite nice. There are lots of places to walk, and there's a little chapel on the premise. As far as the food, I would give them a rating of 5. They had music going on while we were there and interactive things. I saw an exercise room and a whole list of programs that they have going on daily like movies, beaches, and a lot of activities. The assisted living was all in one building."
