My sister is in the Diversicare of Providence. Everyone out there is very nice and very helpful. The PT has done well with them. She's walking with a walker now. She has made some good strides with the PT. They've all been very nice to her. She likes their food. As far as her care goes, I have no complaint. The only complaint I have, and it's probably going to be with every nursing home, is that it could be cleaner, like the floors and the bathrooms. She hasn't participated in any activities. I don't think any nursing home is worth the value they charge, but it's one of those things that has to be. For the most part, it is worth it.

There is no place on their website to get their phone number for visiting hours or checking on your loved one. This is absolutely not acceptable!

I wish I could take a picture of yesterdays evening meal. It consisted of macaroni and cheese with some mushrooms and peas mixed in, a roll, one half-pint chocolate milk and a small cookie. Today's noon meal was no better. The house cleaning, kitchen crew, and staffing are doing an atrocious job. They are continually under-staffed. The Management needs to be evaluated.

My dad passed away here on May 1, 2020...Visitation was not allowed due to Covid in March, which was the last time I saw him, except for window visits which were useless as he had dementia. His health deteriorated fast after I could no longer visit him as was evidenced during window visits. When I was still able to visit him, his clothes were dirty, he was hungry often as he was supposed to have supervised meals, THE DON NEVER returned my calls, he missed scheduled transports to his OWN family doctor due to Diversicare not taking him as they were supposed to, two good nurses were all dad ever had, I paid for his medical records so I could go through them and SO MANY things were absolutely untrue, and I could go on and on....BEWARE OF THIS NURSING HOME....IT MAY LOOK GOOD FROM THE OUTSIDE BUT INSIDE, IT IS PURE HELL...LOOKS ARE DECEIVING....MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE ELDERLY LEFT IN THERE....I KNOW WHAT GOES ON....

The rooms at Providence Retirement Home were extremely small and felt more like a nursing home than an assisted living.

I visited Providence Retirement home with my church. We helped with the activities and even did some work for them over the summer. The home was kept clean. The residents were well taken care of. The staff was friendly. the facility was well kept up grounds and otherwise. There were a lot of activities for the residence to do. They had an ice cream place inside where the residence could get ice cream.
