My mom is a resident of The Village at Pine Valley. I think the nurses have given her the attention that she needs. We've been really happy with the nursing unit. I haven't tried the food; she says it is better than where she was before. It's not great, but probably a four. The rooms are good, I give them a five. They have done a really good job of encouraging her to attend the activities. I know that every morning, they have wheelchair aerobics. Mom never went to them before, but she's been going to them there. Then in the summer, they have outings where they put them in a bus and take them to a restaurant. They're kind of landlocked there, so that would be one of my lower scores. They have a porch, but it is not like a courtyard where the patients can go out and they're sort of guarded and inside. They let them go out on the front porch and seem to watch them pretty well. The staff is very responsive. We would recommend it based on our experience. The upkeep is good, there is not any of the nursing home smell.

If there is a six star, I would give The Village at Pine Valley a six. It was excellent. It was a newer community, so it was updated. The rooms were very nice, more modern than the older nursing homes. I liked the room set up, and even the shared rooms had a kind of a half wall between the two areas. So it was almost like a private-type room. They're very well kept, they have chapel service every day, which I appreciate as well. They do have a therapy room. I did not have a meal there, but there were a couple of very nice dining areas. The staff member who showed me around was excellent. She was very helpful. I was highly impressed with everything. If there wasn't a long waiting list, I would put my mother in there. That was my top choice.

We liked The Village at Pine Valley a lot. It was definitely clean and the staff was very friendly. They had some activities going on while we were there and they were playing bingo. They had an exercise area and an outdoor sidewalk trail around a pond so the residents could go out. They have a lot of activities for the residents and they have church services there.

My mother is well cared for at The Village at Pine Valley. I really like the facility. It's one of the nicest ones I've been to. The staff is very good. They're sometimes short staffed because some people call in sick. They always invite her to come to musicals, bingo, and crafts. There's always something going on a couple of times a week. There are always puzzles around. It's super expensive, but it's pretty much in line with all the rest of them in the area, and this one is far nicer than them. She's in better state now than when she went in. They worked on her bedsore and it's starting to heal. She is in a private room. It is fantastic and a great size.

The place is brand new and clean. They make their own rules and they don't listen to the family. I will not recommend the place. Right now they know I am very, very unhappy. I ate dinner with mom one time and the food was awful.
