"I toured Delaware Plaza. I was a little bit surprised at how big the rooms were. The one thing that came to mind when we visited is that most of our medical treatment is done in the Kaiser facility across the street from there. So out of the ones we have visited, that's the one we would consider. And it wasn't terribly expensive, too. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. The dining area was very nice. The people were very conscientious about showing us the place. The facility was very clean and very well-kept. I would rate it very highly. It was very favorable. We had lunch there, but the food was not as hot as my wife likes it."

"Canterbury Park Signature Independent Living is a nice-looking facility. It's clean. Everybody seems to be very cordial. Mom has a one-bedroom with a living room, a kitchenette, and a nice bathroom. They're all separate. She has lots of closet space. The menu looked really good. The people were excellent and they have some activities planned."

"The staff members at Canterbury Inn were caring, knowledgeable, and very kind. They followed through with me. They tried very hard to help me with our situation. It was a beautiful facility. It was very well maintained. The staff members looked like they were there for a while, so it seemed to be managed quite well. The place was very clean, too."

"I went to tour Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living. You can start in independent living and if you need assisted living, they'll offer that, too, on different levels. I liked it. I liked the building, I like the facilities, and I like the staff and some of the residents that I met. The empty room that I went into was a one-bedroom, and it was adequate. They had a regular refrigerator (not a little midget one) but no stove. It was roomier. You could have a queen-sized bed and still have space in your bedroom. The living room was much larger than any of the other ones I saw. They kind of pointed things out in the different rooms that they did there. They showed us a lovely library. There are tables all around the whole building where you could do puzzles or play cards. They have a lot of activities on their calendar. They have all-purpose bingo, several other games, and little tournaments. They take you on little trips if you want to and they go to the doctor. There is transportation available and a parking lot if you have a car, which I do. The staff was very nice, very pleasant and helpful."

"Avamere at St. Helens is wonderful. I've only been here a couple of weeks, but I'm enjoying it very much. I made a good choice. The staff is absolutely wonderful. I have had breakfast, dinner, and lunch here, and it's really quite good. They have a very good cook. My apartment is beautiful. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath, and it's just very, very roomy. It was repainted and re-carpeted before I moved in. It's just gorgeous. I have a little deck, too. I love it. They're very protective of everyone, and we do wear masks even if we're out for a walk around the area. I know they do fun things, like crafting, exercise classes, and arts, but I just haven't been involved with anything, although I'm looking forward to taking part in some of their activities."
