My grandparents were at Canterbury Inn. I've seen all of the care levels from just when they started out to when they needed pretty much 24-hour care. It's fancy. It's higher-end than the other place. There were more people. Mom didn't like more people, but my grandma loved it. They're very social there. Grandma liked the food, so the food must be OK. The rooms were all large, spacious, and clean. They did all kinds of stuff. They had bingo. They keep the residents as busy as they want to be. Grandma was always doing puzzles. Grandma had a stroke, so there's not too much she could do, but she'd still go and watch and play bingo and go out and socialize. The facility was nice.

I toured Canterbury Inn. The showers would have been difficult for me to get in. It hasn't been remodeled in a long time. I wasn't impressed with it. Everything seemed to be a little outdated or something. The staff were nice. I did try the meal. It was not great, but it was good.

Canterbury Inn is incredible. It's beautiful. It can't get any better. It is nice. The staff was nice. He was very efficient. He was wonderful. He sat down with me, spent time with me, and gave me a cup of coffee. I checked their dining area, and he showed me the menu. The dining area was nice. My husband is pretty simple, so I don't think he could order off a menu, but the staff said there's a daily special that would work. There's also a library, a pool, a TV, and bingo.

People know you by your name at Canterbury Inn. That's important to me. They take care of you by furnishing meals. I love all the waiters and waitresses. They even know what I like to eat. I know them by name as well. I like that if you want to be close, this can be your family. And we care about each other. If someone doesn't come to a meal, we start checking on them. We care about what is happening because we are a family.

We are pleased with Canterbury Inn. Lots of friendly people. Food is reasonably good. Apartment is very comfortable, quiet and very pleasant. There are lots of activities if you want. We haven’t taken advantage of many of them but have attended some. There is a lot going on. The bus service is very good. Their medical emergency response is very good. We feel welcomed here and happy.

My mom moved into Canterbury Inn about two months ago. It's good so far. It's very friendly. The only bad thing is that due to COVID, they had to shut down a lot of stuff. It's starting to reopen now. They're very friendly and helpful people. The nursing staff is wonderful. Everything was shut down due to Covid, so they can't eat in the facility. They had to have their food brought to their rooms. All the activities are shut down because they can't do them with COVID going around because of the mandate. They have a hair salon. My mom enjoys the food. It's just the food has all been brought to the room, so they can't interact or function. It's not their fault; it is just what was put in place.

I went to Canterbury Inn. I liked it. I thought it was very clean, and I liked the fact that some of the rooms had sliding doors that went out into a garden area. So if you had a pet, you could take him out there, you wouldn't have to go through the whole building or anything. I like the fact that you could have a pet. We were offered a time to come in for a meal and try the food because I had mentioned that, we didn't go, but they did offer. I just thought they were very nice. I thought the rooms were kind of small. When you go from a home into two rooms, it's a big shock. I thought they were very nice. The staff was very nice, and then the director did stop by and say hello to us and talk to us. The one thing I didn't like, is if once you got in there and settled, if one of you needed more care like memory care or something, you would be split up and you'd be in two different units. That was one thing I didn't like, you couldn't stay together. Canterbury had a bus that would take you somewhere once a week, even if it was close to Fred Meyer, or something like that. You could take the bus and go somewhere, and sometimes go sightseeing.

We visited Canterbury Inn. It's very nice, but the prices are astronomical. They catered to the rich. They have a special memory care unit. The people were very nice. I appreciated that. They all have activities throughout the day for their patients which is wonderful. I liked that they had arts and crafts stuff going on, little workouts going on that the people could take part in, which my mom and I did. I took my mom there and we took part in one of their little workouts, which is very doable. My mom was able to do it and it was good. But at seventy-six hundred a month, it's just too much. The dining room was absolutely lovely, but we did not partake in any meals.

I visited Canterbury Inn and that's the one we are going to go with. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the dining rooms. I liked that mom had options. They had two different dining rooms and different feeding times, so she had more options there. I also liked that everything was right there. She's pretty independent, but she's going to start needing more assistance. She's 89, and then the memory care unit is also right there if she deteriorates into that. I liked where she could stay forever. We wouldn't have to move her around to different places. That was probably the biggest thing. The independent and assisted is kind of mixed together, but she is more independent, and then they will just assess her. She hasn't done the assessment yet. They will assess how much help she needs, but they don't think she's going to need very much help at the beginning. I was there late and they didn't hurry me or anything, and I really appreciated that. The staff member during the tour was very friendly and very observant, because she showed me one room, and I think she realized I was pretty disappointed. Then the next room she showed me, which she wasn't going to originally because the person had just moved out, and it wasn't ready to be shown, but she did anyway because she thought from the comments I had made that my mom would like that room, and she was correct. It's a great room for my mom, so I liked how she kind of went off the offer set plan when she met me and talked to me and was able to switch it up. The food smelled really good because it was dinnertime, but we didn't have any food at that time. We're going to eat there soon. My mom will be here and we'll go over together.

My uncle will be moving into Canterbury Inn. Our experience has been very good. I'm impressed with the facility, I'm impressed with Shauna who's been coordinating all of this, and I've also dealt with Ray, who's the executive director. I'm very pleased, because right now we have his room on hold because he's in a skilled nursing facility for rehab and medications. They have good programs, but we haven't experienced any of that yet. They had a library. I've been very happy with the people I've dealt with.

We had toured three areas at Canterbury Inn, the independent, assisted living, and memory care. We're treated very nicely. We're able to see the people who live there in their environment. It's a very lovely place. The studio apartments in the assisted living area could use a little fixing up, but on the whole, the people seemed very kind, and the people were being taken care of well. They have a one-bedroom and studio. The studio apartments were not set up well. They have a patio door that opens up to a courtyard, which would not work well for my mom. They have a calendar on the wall that presented daily activities from movie nights to card night activities and artistic activities. I did appreciate it that they offer a Sunday service to those who enjoy that type of thing, so it was very well rounded as far as activities and very engaged.

I found Canterbury Inn for my brother. We chose it for the price of the rooms, the pricing that they matched, and the fact that they have more nursing care. We can't move him in for another two or three weeks. I was able to walk around the outside. I only dealt with one person, and she's very helpful. The outside looks nice, neat, and clean.

My mom has had respite stays at Canterbury Inn. From the very beginning, staff and residents alike have been helpful and welcoming, including her in activities & making sure she's comfortable, even tho she isn't a full time resident. Throughout the entire process, the staff has been gracious and patient, answering all of my dad's many, many questions. They have also kept in contact with my parents during the pandemic, ready to jump in & help if my parents need anything. That's going above & beyond!

The place is nicely kept, the helpers truly care about the residents and easy to talk with. The current covid situation has some residents upset at not being able to have visitors/go out with family, but the restrictions are totally appropriate to the covid situation. I have not met the current administrative staff so cannot speak about them. My stars are based on comments of my family/friends living there.

We moved into the Canterbury Inn. My husband is assisted living and I'm independent. Everybody is very friendly, and the food for the most part is very good. Everybody has made it as easy as possible. Someone does the weekly housekeeping and changes our linens. They have activities, so you can be as involved as you want to be. Everybody's been great. We're in the same apartment, but my husband gets nursing care here. We're in one of the older areas. It's on the second floor, and we have a small kitchen, two bedrooms, a hospital bed in his room, and I have my room. The nurses and the aides come in and out to help him and I do my own thing.

I like Canterbury Inn because it feels like you’re in an actual home. They have a lot of fun activities for my grandparents. We’ve had great experience with the staff, so far. I would recommend this facility. The food at this facility is good.

I have talked to some people, and they have all been wonderful. Canterbury Gardens is one of the best communities, and it is a beautiful place. The people are really great. They’ve got a great nursing staff, and the people at the front desk were really kind. It’s very well done and pretty. Although the price is a little high, you are getting what you pay for. It has a lot of things to offer for the elderly and the people that need assistance. The only complaint that my father has ever had is their menu. The food is fine, but some of the menu should be designed a little bit better for elderly people. The chef there needs to realize that they need healthy food, and they also need food that they can chew. The menu could improve as far as having better food for them to eat easily. They take care of you really well there, and they take tours all over the place, shopping, and out to dinner. They have bingo, they bring a minister in, and they play pool and billiards. They’ve got music and different talented individuals. They’ve got a beautiful piano, so they do have people that come to entertain. They offer a variety of things there. They’ve got a beauty salon and movies, and they’ve got a nice place if you have family gatherings. My father has a regular room with a bathroom, and he seems to be content. The bathrooms are huge, and the room is nice. He has got a little microwave and a refrigerator. They have another unit across the street which is very nice for extreme Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The staff at Canterbury Inn was very nice, helpful, and showed us a lot of things. I saw what they’re eating, and it looked pretty good. There were apartments for two persons -- some were for one person -- and they were all very nice. They keep the place pretty well. They had an exercise room and a movie room that they show movies in a couple of times a week.

We moved into Canterbury Inn about 3 months ago. We moved here because they have nursing care at night. There are many places that don't have the nursing care at night. It's a little expensive, but the staff are awesome doing their job. At times, they have been understaffed, but they have hired enough people, and they seem to be back up to speed on that. My wife takes 3 different pills a day, and they're always right there. You can play many games. The food is like anywhere. I've actually been here so long it all tastes the same, but it's edible. They clean everything but your personal belongings. It's very much a homey feeling. It's really nice place. We have a 2-bedroom and a living room. It's well-spaced out, about 1,300 sq/ft. We got a big place. It's very well done.

Canterbury Inn couldn't be in a more beautiful location first of all. Seaside Oregon is right there on the Oregon Coast. The grounds are just lovely and residents seem to enjoy the picturesque views from each room. My mother has several friends living at Canterbury Inn. Each time I'm in Seaside visiting my parents, we always seem to make it over to Canterbury. I enjoy visiting with the residents at Canterbury Inn. The staff members are very kind and I love the way they greet each resident by name when they see them. There are many activities for the residents based on their own interests, as well as cognitive or physical abilities. It seems there is always something fun going on when we're there. I've also had lunch with my mother's friends in the Canterbury restaurant. I have to admit the food is very good! My mother has already informed me that at some point, she plans to move to Canterbury Inn, to enjoy spending even more time with her friends. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking a warm, caring environment for themselves or their loved ones
