They have a restaurant, and the movie theater was appealing to my brother. Their barbershop was good, too. It was one level, and so it's a good location for him. The residents looked happy."

"A Place To Call Home IV Andresen Rd is an adult foster home. My wife has only been here a couple of weeks. We are waiting to get set up for physical therapy, so right now, they're just taking care of her meals, showers, and whatever else she needs. I come almost every day to see her. The owner of this place has four of these. I went and visited three of the four and these are very nice homes, much better than I've seen anywhere else. The staff is very friendly. The girl that's here almost all the time, Violet, does a good job of taking care of my wife. Cleanliness is excellent. They do several things. They have entertainers that come in and they've got somebody for yoga that comes in and musicians, much better than you would see anywhere else probably."

"My dad moved into the IRIS Adult Family Home. I like that it only has six residents and an open floor plan. They include three meals a day and a snack. A musician comes in every other Monday and plays a fiddle."

"When I got there at A Place To Call Home 117th Circle, they didn't have any openings, so that didn't work. It's very nice. It's a real country setting. It's on a big piece of land. The outside is probably nicer than the one that I'm at right now, but that doesn't matter to me, because my wife doesn't go out. The staff was very friendly. It's high-end and very nice. It has a regular dining room. They get the people up to eat at the table. It's just a nice place. The courtyard was nice. it's out in the country, so they have a nice view."

"It had a positive atmosphere. They were caring and we were happy to consider moving our mom there. The staff seemed responsive and interested. The room was nice, clean, had a beautiful view, was roomy, and bright. The layout was really good. Everything was close for my mom who doesn't get around very well, including the elevators and the dining room. It seemed manageable for her. They have trips, movies, and different activities for the residents. They were playing bingo when we were there."

I to had this difficulty decision myself, so I’m speaking from experience. The home and clients rooms are immaculate. Kept very clean, no odors. Each room has its own bathroom. Laundry is done by the care team. The food is home made, served hot. They do their best to accommodate the clients likes and dislikes. They have a menu for all dietary needs. It is family owned, therefore the staff are some of their family members. They take pride in the care they provide to each of their clients, meeting each with their specific needs. The home is a loving home. The staff is caring and make time to listen to the family and client individuals needs. I hope that this review will help make it a little easier with this transition. I know that my family and I were will pleased."

"Mom is at MorningStar at Laurelhurst. It is very clean. Most of the caregivers are very caring and loving. They enjoy what they do and care for the residents. There were a few issues at the beginning, but things are better now. No place is perfect. I was given a couple of opportunities to have a meal there, and the food is always very fresh because the memory care patients are always served first. It's nutritious and they have a really good chef. There's a good variety. There are a lot of coloring activities (they have adult coloring books). They also play music and then have movies after dinner. They have other activities that I noticed on the board, like going for a walk and trivia things, but Mom's not interested in any of that stuff. She's very picky. She's always just sitting there, totally bored."

"It seemed like a very nice place and an energetic atmosphere, but their rooms were small, and for the rooms that were covered by Medicaid, you're going to have to have a roommate. I only met the marketing person who gave me the tour, and I thought she was wonderful. She was very thorough, very upbeat, and very attentive with follow-ups and getting my questions answered. They were also very quick at making the assessment happen, which I appreciated. Their food was good. I just had one chicken meal. I expected to see a vegetable on the plate and did not, but it was good."

"L&s Adult Care Home has a new owner who runs the facility. Her name is Sarah and she was very good. The home was clean. It was old and it's a smaller home care for five adults and interestingly, it was a home for women. So for my mom, that would be fine, and I can understand where that also might be an advantage. The staff was very nice and very helpful with entertaining questions. It's a house that is run by a woman and her husband, and they are parents to one nine-month-old child and a two-year-old, and they live at the facility. So, if you're an older person and you enjoy being around kids and family, which seems to be quite pleasant, that would be awesome. You would have a built-in grandchild to interact with once in a while and nothing can help brighten our day sometimes, but having a little bit of time to maybe play together with the child. For those who don't want the occasional interruption of children or the inevitable times when the kids are tired and upset and need attention from their parents, it might create an environment where there's a little more competition for your caregivers' time. I don't think that overall, it's a negative, I think it's positive that they're a small little family, but it's the kind of thing that could be a risk and the one thing we know with kids growing up is that their needs continuously change. So, it might be something that could get better, because the kids are learning to live with older adults as well, or it may have times when it's not so optimal."

"My mother is at Edgewood Point. They are attentive to everybody there. It is a very personable community and feels like home. My mom really likes it there. They have plenty of games, eye-hand coordination activities, and crafts to keep them busy. The facility has very tall ceilings, an upstairs and a downstairs, and a community room surrounded by windows. They have birds, squirrels, and resident cats, so residents can intermingle with them, too. There's a well-organized, full schedule of activities, including live music and Sunday services. They have a resident nurse there all of the time. The staff would take them to doctors' visits and any other appointments, if needed. My mother likes it, which is the main thing. "

"We have chosen a facility, but she hasn't moved in yet. We made the decision, and she is actually going there in a few weeks. My mother has a friend that lives there. It is a small community which I think is really important. It is on a single level building which I think is very important as well. It has a large outdoor area with grass and benches which I think is very important. Because it is a small community, the people seemed to be very caring and know exactly who you are. She has a separate apartment which is very nice. She has a living room, a small kitchen, a bedroom, and a very nice bathroom. I'm really not very familiar with the activities because we haven't moved her in yet, but I know they have a lot them. It is in a fantastic location. It is close to the incoming freeways so that visitors can easily find her. There is lot of shopping and restaurants nearby. There are places to get your hair done. All of that is within walking distance. I know it is secured, and I know it is safe. "
