"We toured Van Mall Retirement. It was somewhat modern. It was clean. It seemed very well-organized. The meals, the activities, and the space seemed very spacious for the amount of people that were there. The people that we passed that are living there, seemed very happy. I don't think we passed one person who didn't acknowledge the woman who was giving us our tour. I thought that was special and unique. It was a safe environment. The lighting was good. The one-bedroom apartment we looked at, the floor plan of it was acceptable. It would be a huge adjustment for my parents. It was large enough that it could hold some of their furniture and that it would be fairly easy to make it homey. The kitchen facility was more than adequate. The refrigerator was a decent size. The pantry was more than what they would need. It was just suitable for a couple or, or even for a single person. The grounds were very pretty. There was a beautiful courtyard. There was a place to do gardening, and there was a library. It just seemed very accommodating for my parents and anyone that wanted to be there. We looked at the menu and that particular location is set up like restaurant style so that the people living there can go in and order from an actual menu, which is pretty special, I think."

"We toured Cogir of Glenwood Place. I pretty much like everything about it. It was nice, neat, clean and modern. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly and nice. They have a restaurant, and the movie theater was appealing to my brother. Their barbershop was good, too. It was one level, and so it's a good location for him. The residents looked happy."

"We've moved into Bonaventure of Vancouver. The bedrooms are a little small, but the living space is nice because it's larger. It's so light and bright all over the facility. It's very, very nice. The food is excellent and the staff members are very, very helpful. We haven't participated in a lot, although they have a lot of activities. It's spotless. The housekeeping is very, very helpful if you have something you need to remove from your apartment, so it's just been excellent."

"I toured Cogir of Vancouver. It was very clean. The people that lived there seemed to like it. The menu is always very important to me. I've been to a couple of places where mostly all they serve is hamburgers and hotdogs, and that's not good. And the other thing was their security. They had a great security system that most of them didn't. I liked the layout because it had a very usable kitchen, not just the sink and an under-counter refrigerator. You could use the kitchen if you wanted to or have people in, like if your family comes in or whatever. I liked the layout with the two-bedroom ones. It was nice and large, and both bedrooms were opposite on either side of the living area, and they each had their own bathroom and that was great. It had lovely, tasteful decor and colors. They'd put in a carpet if you wante a carpet instead of just whatever the flooring was. It wasn't wood, but it was probably vinyl. They have 24-hour staff. Anytime meals there were just a lot of extras that a lot of them don't have. Also, you can stay in the same place if you need to move to assisted living or memory care. Some of them don't."

"A Place To Call Home IV Andresen Rd is an adult foster home. My wife has only been here a couple of weeks. We are waiting to get set up for physical therapy, so right now, they're just taking care of her meals, showers, and whatever else she needs. I come almost every day to see her. The owner of this place has four of these. I went and visited three of the four and these are very nice homes, much better than I've seen anywhere else. The staff is very friendly. The girl that's here almost all the time, Violet, does a good job of taking care of my wife. Cleanliness is excellent. They do several things. They have entertainers that come in and they've got somebody for yoga that comes in and musicians, much better than you would see anywhere else probably."

"My dad moved into the IRIS Adult Family Home. I like that it only has six residents and an open floor plan. They include three meals a day and a snack. A musician comes in every other Monday and plays a fiddle."

"We found the staff at Mallard Landing to be very, very friendly, and very accommodating. We liked the facility because it's not huge, but it's also not too small. It's very clean, with nice rooms, and it has the opportunity for my mom to get out and meet other people. I think she's going to be very comfortable there. She will be moving there tomorrow and she's going to be in a 1-bedroom apartment. It will have a living room area and a little kitchenette area for her. They're talking about having bingo and some other things. They have a pool table and all kinds of stuff there for people to do. They have a little room they called the Coca-Cola room that looks like a little restaurant where families could cook meals for their loved ones. They also have a library for reading and a community room to have puzzles and things like that."

"When I got there at A Place To Call Home 117th Circle, they didn't have any openings, so that didn't work. It's very nice. It's a real country setting. It's on a big piece of land. The outside is probably nicer than the one that I'm at right now, but that doesn't matter to me, because my wife doesn't go out. The staff was very friendly. It's high-end and very nice. It has a regular dining room. They get the people up to eat at the table. It's just a nice place. The courtyard was nice. it's out in the country, so they have a nice view."

"The staff at Cascade Inn has been very kind to my sister, who can be challenging to deal with sometimes. She has made lots of friends here but does not partake in any of the activities, I have urged her to go on the outings but she won't do it. I hope she loosens up in the future and takes advantage of all the things Cascade has to offer the residents"

"I toured Calaroga Terrace, and I knew immediately it was not the right place for me. The person who took me around was the most vivacious and the most positive person. Debbie was wonderful. I think she was the marketing manager or the sales manager. She really was a dynamite person, but the place wasn't right for me. The sizes of the rooms were OK, but they did not have stoves. While I am 83, I still love to cook. They provide three meals a day, seven days a week. The place is older. It's a renovated hotel, but it looks tired. I wouldn't fit in there. It's the only high-rise that I toured. I noticed that there were birds that were using the windows on the ninth floor, and I wondered how often the windows got cleaned. Inside, the cleanliness was fine though. They had two libraries, a lounge on each floor, and a craft room. They had the typical amenities that almost all of these had."

"I’m writing this review in hope that it will help those family members, who have been given this difficult decision of the placement of their love ones. I to had this difficulty decision myself, so I’m speaking from experience. The home and clients rooms are immaculate. Kept very clean, no odors. Each room has its own bathroom. Laundry is done by the care team. The food is home made, served hot. They do their best to accommodate the clients likes and dislikes. They have a menu for all dietary needs. It is family owned, therefore the staff are some of their family members. They take pride in the care they provide to each of their clients, meeting each with their specific needs. The home is a loving home. The staff is caring and make time to listen to the family and client individuals needs. I hope that this review will help make it a little easier with this transition. I know that my family and I were will pleased."

"Prestige BH goes way beyond with this winter storm they don’t have electricity since Saturday to Thursday. My love ones are not neglected during this time. All the staff are amazing and handle the situation with a big smile. I highly recommended this facility with there awesome service with our love ones!"
