"I toured The Delaney at Bridgewater. The people were very good and very helpful. It's a new place, and it was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I toured a unit, and it was big. It was a regular apartment. It looked brand new; it looked excellent. They have a gym and a salon. The gym wasn't big, but it had a lot of equipment."

"My mother and I visited Laurel Circle's independent living 2 weeks ago. It's a very nice community. They're redoing everything over there so it is all upgraded. Everybody was very nice too. The guy staff spent a lot of time with us and even treated us to dinner, which was nice. We liked it a lot. The only problem is there was an entry fee so my mother would have to put up 10% of her wealth. In other words, if she is worth half a million, she had to put up 10% of that to get into this one apartment. The place is beautiful and I would have loved for her to go there. It's close to us, it was in the budget, and it included everything so it was perfect. They would even come out and bring a van to move her in and it was all included. The entry fee pays for all that stuff including the food. They were even going to let her have her cat and that's another big thing for us. We want to make sure we can take the cat with us. She was so close and was getting ready to write the check but we fell out because of the financial part of it."

"I visited Atria Tinton Falls and toured the assisted living facility. The place is clean and has a friendly staff who seem like they really care. They sent me home with lunch and some cookies, and it was very good. They had specials and an everyday menu. The studio rooms that we saw were very clean and updated."

"Mira Vie at Warren was beautiful. I loved it. The people were very nice. The community was beautiful. My drawback was the demographics, because even though I'm 70, I think the people are older. I loved that they had underground parking. That was important to me, especially in New Jersey. I know I could feel comfortable there. The staff was wonderful. Everyone that I came in contact with, and also the residents, were very friendly and very welcoming. I had coffee and pastries and they were good. The common areas were gorgeous. The room was wonderful. It just didn't have enough closet space for me."

"I visited Mira Vie at Fanwood. It's nicely decorated, very clean, and very peaceful. It is a rather elegant situation, and I was told that it used to be a hotel, so I'm not surprised that it looks like that. They have two buildings, one for assisted living and the other for independent living. I took a closer look at assisted living. The rooms they showed me were kept well. They were small, just a room with a bed, so it was not a big accommodation. The staff was very well prepared. They knew what they had and knew what to tell me. They did well, and I liked what they told me and what I saw."

"My aunt is at Atria Cranford. She has been there for six weeks now. She is still adjusting, but Atria is great. The room is fine. The staff is attentive, and the food seems great. They're trying to decide whether she needs assisted living or memory care, so she's in evaluation right now."

"My mother is living in the Legacy Gardens of Bristol. She seemed to like it. They have doctors on staff, so she doesn't have to leave the facility to go see a doctor. They need to upgrade their activities for the seniors. Everybody is very friendly. Besides watching TV in the common area, they do have social activities for the seniors. They have a salon and a lady that comes around who does their nails and stuff like that. My mother gets a veteran's benefit, so that will help her out quite a bit."

"Oxford Enhanced Senior Living was great. The place was lovely. Really lovely, with lots of amenities. It was very nice to visit. They have a chef that prepares your dinner. You can also get lunch at your own expense and they serve a breakfast buffet. They provide housekeeping every other week. The dining room was beautiful. They had a cooking demonstration while I was there. So, they had lots of amenities. Eric was wonderful. He was great. He answered all my questions and showed me the apartment, which was beautiful. I just couldn't afford it."

"We visited the Masonic Village at Burlington's independent living for my friend. The person who took us on the tour was very pleasant. The apartment was gorgeous, and the grounds were just beautiful. We didn't eat there, but we did see the dining room, and it looked nice. It looked like a restaurant with linens. Their lunch area was sort of like a deli where you order what you want, and the food looked delicious. The size of the rooms was huge. They were very big and beautiful. I liked it, and I was impressed."

"I don’t normally fill these out but I’ve been truly touched by the way Sunrise welcomed my godfather during his first day. When we arrived, we were greeted by a warm a Welcome Home banner that immediately made the place feel like a caring family environment. In addition to that, there was a thoughtful welcome gift waiting in their room, its the small gestures that spoke volumes about the attention to detail and genuine care here. Neil personally made sure every part of the day was smooth and reassuring, answering all our questions with kindness and empathy. We also met Nia, she was so gentle and kind in her approach when speaking to him and creating his personalized plan. He told us he felt so special his first day. It’s comforting to know that my loved one is not only in good hands but also in a place that feels like home from the very first moment."

"I went to Juniper Village at Bucks County and I was greeted properly. They've got very nice people. The place was clean. They showed us several apartments, several of the crafts that they were doing, the restaurant, and the menu. Everything was great. They have studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms. The staff during the tour was very nice. They have a church on the premises. The buy-in was cheap. We tried to set up several luncheons, but we weren't able to do that."

"I had a pretty good tour at Holland Village. It had a nice atmosphere; it was not sterile. The people were very friendly. It was very clean and nice. I liked it. The staff that I met was good. They had various clubs. They had a gym and a swimming pool."

"Encore at Monroe is a 55+ community. The complex is really quite wonderful. We have a tennis court, a small golf course, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. They have a very extensive gym and a large clubhouse where we have a tremendous amount of activities. We have arts and crafts. We have more sophisticated type of activities like going to the opera, going to the museums, to ballets, etc. We have Men's and Women's Clubs. The Men's Club will go to things like the races. The Women's Club will go to things like art galleries. Their homes are all independent and free-standing. We have the Concerto, which is over 2,000 square feet. It is a one-level home. It's really quite beautiful. We have a two-car garage. However, they take care of everything in terms of all the gardening, removing the snow, etc., all the necessary things. I couldn't possibly have a better situation than that. "

"Greenbriar at Whittingham was very nice, good value for the price, and was attractive. They're near universities, like Rutgers, which is ten miles away in New Brunswick, and many quaint rural towns. There's a lot of activities, like shopping and medical resources nearby. It looked very clean and well cared for. The lawns were good, the buildings looked kept up, and there was a large clubhouse with a very active calendar. Just adjacent to the property was the Central Library of Monroe County, which is a large and very extensive community activities program for all age groups, which is another source of activity and cultural interest, and that added quite a bit to the value of the community. They offered lecture series to the residents where they bring in people from different fields of expertise to discuss ideas and trends. There were a lot of physical activities, including sports and exercises. So, that was another selling point. Actually, all of the facilities I visited were similar, except most of the other places didn't have access to educational resources, but this place had."
