"I toured the Heritage of Clara Barton, and I liked the location. The lobby was very nice and expansive. I liked that they had a separate laundry room, a very nice common area, a stove, and a refrigerator. The staff was very nice, and she made me feel very welcome. I liked the size of the kitchen, but I thought the living room and the bedroom were small."

"We visited the Masonic Village at Burlington's independent living for my friend. The person who took us on the tour was very pleasant. The apartment was gorgeous, and the grounds were just beautiful. We didn't eat there, but we did see the dining room, and it looked nice. It looked like a restaurant with linens. Their lunch area was sort of like a deli where you order what you want, and the food looked delicious. The size of the rooms was huge. They were very big and beautiful. I liked it, and I was impressed."

"My mom will be moving to Spring Oak of Toms River. The people were friendly, and there was a lot of sociability going on. It was close in proximity to me. The staff was excellent. The facility was clean and updated."

"Harrogate had a nice dining room, nice activities, and a pool. The facility was very clean and very nice. The staff was extremely nice. They offered us to come for lunch, but we didn't have time. They had a lot of clubs, lectures, movies, and trips, and they had people who liked to play cards or whatever. There are quite a lot of activities."

"I am a resident of Leisure Village. I'm right on the lake, which is beautiful. It has a lot of natural beauty, ducks, and swans. We have two pools, one heated, and they're both outdoors. They have a lot of activities, but I didn't participate because I was taking care of my great-grandsons. There are a lot of amenities if you wish to take advantage of them, and I'm active in water aerobics. The staff is very good. If you need any help with appliances or anything else, they're very responsive and take care of it right away. They have garbage collection twice a week, recycling once a week, and they maintain the lawns very nicely. They have bingo weekly. They have a cafe that you can go to and hang out whenever you want. They have a gym, an art studio, and a sewing club. They have an Italian and Jewish club. They have a couple of church groups. I feel it's a little high, but most people say that it's the best facility for the money."

"I went to see Leisure Park in Lakewood and toured their independent living. It's really good, very updated, and sophisticated. It's clean and neat, and very modern. The staff also kept up with me. The place is very nice and upscale. It's beautiful with a lot of modern facilities, which is what I liked about it. It's also open with a lot of people working there."

"Greenbriar Woodlands is a gated community, and they have all the amenities that the other ones also have. They were very clean and nicely set up. "

"When I walked into Applewood Estates, I was impressed with the energy, the people, and the decoration. It was stylish and comfy. I saw opportunities for growth, socialization, and good food. The staff person that took me on the tour was terrific. He was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of pointers. The food was excellent. There was good variety. The dining room was attractive, open, and light. They have a swimming pool, gardening, bocce, and all kinds of things that anyone would enjoy."

"I toured Silverwoods. They have a pool. They have a gym. They have three course menus for dinner. Everything's brand new and has a party crowd atmosphere."

"The staff is very attentive, there may be times that they are busy with others but as soon as they are available, they will respond to you. The staff at Pines Village is very kind and helpful, they helped make my rehab stay very enjoyable. The therapy department was great, they took their time and made sure that I received the right therapy I needed to get back on my feet and return home."

"We're going to Seabrook Retirement Community. It's very well-maintained and very professional. There were lots of people moving around and doing different things. The apartments looked great. The staff were all very professional. The food was excellent. With regards to activities, you name it, they offer it. They have health programs and entertainment. They offer everything."

"We moved my brother to The Triton House. We like that it is very clean, they give good care, and the food is good. They watch TV and order pizza. There is a county bus that will take them to doctors' appointments, and there is also a doctor that visits. They are provided three meals a day and laundry services. "

"My mom stayed at The Arbors at Spring Lake for respite. She needs minimal care so it was just for meals and some socialization because she could handle her medications. She said they were very responsive to her needs. It's a lovely program that included exercise, wonderful meals, and a very caring staff. I sat with her during a meal there and it was very good. They had bingo, a chair yoga class, and they had the opportunity to take a ride to the boardwalk. She had a friend there too so they had that socialization. Her room had a sliding glass door, so she was able to sit out and read. I had gone on a trip and flown out of Newark Airport and they said to me, "If we had known that, we could have provided you a room when you got here", and it was very, very kind of them. She was very satisfied with the food. She thought the portions were great and the selection was good and healthy. The place was clean, and the staff was very accommodating and warm. They had wonderful young people working on the food service side who were very attentive. The only downside was how far it is from where I live but it was much more economically feasible than some of the other places in this area."

"Waterside Villas was nice but cost a little bit more than I can afford because my wife and I are on a fixed income. We were looking for a two-bed, two-bath unit, but that was about $1,600-$1,700 a month, and we needed $1,500. The rooms were nice and the surroundings seemed pretty quiet. I liked that they had their own shuttle; I didn't need it, but at least they have it because it's pretty convenient. You'd have to pay for light, sewer, water, and trash. It was a really nice place. If I could afford it, I would have gone. The people welcome you with open arms. They didn't show any type of partiality. They give you a continental breakfast there in the morning, but I didn't eat anything. They had a workout place for exercise, and I liked that."
