"We toured the independent living community of Monarch Bella Terra in Jackson, and it was a very nice experience. The place had a lot to offer to the seniors, especially for their social well-being and mental health. They have gyms, and the amenities at the facility are also offered to the families of the residents, which I thought was very nice. They provided us with lunch and also a couple of gifts, which was nice. They noted that they grow their own vegetables, and they make muffins with the veggies that they grow and give them to the residents and their families. They also provide trips, which is nice. It's a help for the residents' well-being and social well-being, along with a whole host of activities that they provide. The rooms are very spacious. The 1-bedroom apartment we saw is very spacious. Their dining area is very elegant-looking and has a very elegant setting. The food was also good, and my parents enjoyed it. The facility offered everything you could think of."

"I toured the Heritage of Clara Barton, and I liked the location. The lobby was very nice and expansive. I liked that they had a separate laundry room, a very nice common area, a stove, and a refrigerator. The staff was very nice, and she made me feel very welcome. I liked the size of the kitchen, but I thought the living room and the bedroom were small."

"I am a resident of The Philadelphia Protestant Home. They have everything you need. The food is good. It's near where I live. The nurses are well-trained. It's just top-notch. It's very clean, and bright, well-lighted, and the elevators worked."

"Mira Vie at Warren was beautiful. I loved it. The people were very nice. The community was beautiful. My drawback was the demographics, because even though I'm 70, I think the people are older. I loved that they had underground parking. That was important to me, especially in New Jersey. I know I could feel comfortable there. The staff was wonderful. Everyone that I came in contact with, and also the residents, were very friendly and very welcoming. I had coffee and pastries and they were good. The common areas were gorgeous. The room was wonderful. It just didn't have enough closet space for me."

"Hudson Estates Gracious Retirement Living was nice. I got literature and stuff. They only have like one- and two-bedroom. They said that once they get it cleaned up, that place will go. All of the amenities and all of the offerings that they have sound and look great. We got to speak to one of the people that lived there, and they said it was a wonderful place to be. I think it would be good for my father to be amongst the people with all the activities that they offer. It was a couple who assisted me and they were very great in answering questions and asking me if I had additional questions, which I didn't at the time. They gave me a nice packet to take and they also offered, since my dad did not go with me, us to come back and have lunch with them so we could taste the food because she swears by their meal plan. They did give me a giveaway, and it had a mug and a muffin. They had a garden and a wonderful dining room. They had several laundry facilities on each floor. They have a fitness center, a movie theater, and games places. They have a conference room type thing that they offer to the people that live there. They can have up to ten people have dinner in there and they serve you."

"I have chosen Springfield Senior Living for my father. The rooms are good-sized and pretty spacious. My father is in memory care, so they have sections that you have to go through a door, and you need a code in order to go through that door. The Alzheimer's patients can't go beyond that door because they won't remember their code. I thought that was pretty cool. For the elevators, you need codes and stuff, too. It's a very, very clean place. The memory care had their own dining room. The staff members are very nice, very helpful, and very informative. I asked all kinds of questions, and they were very quick to answer the questions and didn't hesitate. It is a private place. I didn't see any activities, but my father said they do activities. They have a paper of what they do daily. As for the value for the money, I'm definitely getting the worth of it. They get three meals a day, the activities, and the care that he needs. It's helpful for me."

"We liked Birchwood at Hopewell the most. They're right off of 295 and they're on Denow Road, so there's a lot of shopping, restaurants, and hair salons down that road. The amenities that they offer within the facility are also really nice. The rooms are pretty spacious. It's a very nice and clean place. The lady who gave us a tour was very good. She answered all our questions, took us all around and showed us where the laundry rooms were, and explained everything to us. She was very thorough. They have elevators so if you're on the second floor, it would be easy for you to get to the apartment. Then every floor has its little lounge/waiting/sitting area. They also have game rooms, and movie nights, and they all have their own little balconies, even if they're on the first floor. So, it was beautiful."

"My friend moved in. She's in their independent living and has a nice apartment. It has a bedroom, a nicely sized living room, a full kitchen, and a very nice bathroom. She could also take her dog with her. She felt that she liked the area it was in because it's close to family and close to us, her friends. It's a very nice four-story building, and the grounds are walkable and very nice. When you go inside, you have to sign in and sign out, which I like. There's also someone always there at the desk. The hallways are nice and bright. The dining room was very large. I didn't go into the dining room to eat, but I had lunch with my friend there. There is sort of a deli place there where you just order what you want, and they make it right there. They also had waitress service, and the food was delicious. They have lots of activities like chair yoga and cardio drumming. They have two movie theaters and a hair salon. They have everything there that my friend could take advantage of if she chose to, and she's been doing different activities during the day. They even travel. If you want to go, they take you to different places. For instance, they went to Point Pleasant Beach to the boardwalk. They have a lot of different interesting things that they do for the residents. My friend is adjusting and doing things at her own tempo. She's also very happy that she was able to bring her dog with her. I would say that the staff and the residents all seem very pleasant. When I was there, there was a lot of activity going on. There was a group playing cards and doing puzzles. On every floor where there was activity, there were quite a few people involved. They have everything you need that they could offer to you, and I thought that was nice. I like everything about the facility."

"We have moved into Montage at Hamilton Apartments. It's close, which is why I chose them. There's a TV on each floor. They have a game room and a swimming pool. Our apartment is nice. We have a washer and dryer. With regard to food, we have to buy our own food. We keep the place clean ourselves."

"I did have a visit at Princeton Windrows, and I liked it than some of the others I saw. It's very nicely decorated. The people are very nice. They offer just about anything the residents want with regards to their activities. The apartments are very nice; they vary in size from a studio to a 2 bedroom apartment. Their food is good too. The staff was very nice as well. "

"Mom moved to Meadow Lakes. It is the right location and the right price range. She felt comfortable there. The staff seems very pleasant and very helpful. The facility is very clean. I'm very sensitive to odor and it smells good there. Everybody is very helpful and pleasant. They are kind of pricey, but most places are. Mom's apartment seems adequate."

"HeatherGate at Oxford Valley was wonderful. Everything was upgraded and the apartments were up to date. They also had activities and some events going on. There's a swimming pool, a fitness center, a picnic area, and you can have family gatherings outside. It was just nice. The staff was vibrant, open, and the lady was willing to give us a tour and she also welcomed us, my mom and I, to come back. Everything that I wanted was there and the upkeep was extraordinary. The only thing was that the price was so steep."

"I'm a resident of Friends Village. It has two campuses- the nursing home is Friends Home and I'm in the Village, which is independent living. It's a Quaker-based institution, nonprofit, non-denominational, but it's supported by the Quakers. They have six apartment buildings and then there's a little bit smaller setting within the main building for twelve apartments. I'm in a independent apartment and I walk to the main building for my meals and activities. Aside from COVID, which shut some things down for two months here, it has been a very positive experience. The staff is well trained and very attentive to people's needs. I have no complaint whatsoever about anything they've done. When I first came in, the apartment that I am in, which is a 1-bedroom, was completely renovated with a new kitchen. I have my own washer dryer in my apartment, plenty of storage, and my own bedroom and bath. My apartment is cleaned by staff once every two weeks and then a deep cleaning once a year. I haven't reached that point yet, but it is neat and clean. The campus is lovely. I can't commend the staff enough. I have never seen such caring when people need extra help or things of that sort. Although it's independent, there are some people here with walkers and oxygen, and the staff has always been extremely helpful in any kind of aid to the people's needs. We're coming back from a lockdown because the county had high COVID rates in January and February, and so we're just getting back to activities. They seem to be going well and I will stay here as long as I am able. My son and my oldest grandchildren live about a mile away. Although the rest of my family is about an hour away, it's closer than where I was before. The main building was a large colonial building, which has a dining room and a TV room. It also has a library. Then there is a hallway that has 12 apartments. Beyond that, there's a card room and a gym. And then there are patios outside and porches. There are clusters of four buildings, and I live in one of them. I happen to live in the building. Eight apartments each, summer doubles, summer 1-bedroom, and summer studios. Each has a quadrangle where you can sit out. As soon as the weather gets better, they're installing special plantings for us there. They're in the process of doing what they call native plantings, and the residents on my end of the quadrangle can have their own plants. We're trying to coordinate our colors together and then they will plant for us and we'll have a beautiful garden in the summer. They've taken care of everything, and maintenance is wonderful. I have knee problems and they've brought me my newspaper to my door, and things of that sort; the little extras that I didn't expect. When we were on the lockdown, they brought us our meals. It's a friendly place. I was in another place where the staff was not so accommodating or communicative, and so I am very pleased."
