"I toured Brookdale Creve Coeur. They had a lively community atmosphere and a very spacious apartment. They had the whole kitchen appliances, and you had your stove, microwave, and refrigerator. The staff was very lively and congenial. They had outdoor space. It was like a garden space for sitting, and they had a rose garden."

"Overall this is a good facilitiy. the biggest complaint among residents is the small food portions. occassionally the food portions are good. 9 out of 10 times they are not. residents have complained to me personally about leaving the table still hungry. "

"I saw The Boulevard at Wentzville. The tour wasn't quite as extensive as the other ones. It was a very nice place. The reason for not choosing it was the distance from my home. It was over 10 miles away, and the one we have is within four miles of my house. So that's a huge difference for me and my time and being able to get there quickly and often as I can. I didn't really get to meet any of the staff. I just met the lady that gave me the tour. She was very nice, very polite, and very informative. They had several different types of living at that home. They had assisted. They even had apartments on three different levels. Their memory care was a separate part of the wing on the ground floor. I was comfortable with that. The whole point got down to the money part of it: the price. Their price was going to be higher because they did not furnish the rooms. I had to furnish the rooms myself and that was an extra expense. Then the monthly cost was was a little different, and that didn't work as well. The place itself was great. They're very, very well appointed. It looked spotless. I don't know if they showed me all of it, but what I saw was absolutely clean."

"I've chosen here for my mom, and she has moved in there. It's been great. It's very clean. The people there are very nice, and they seemed to actually care about the residents there. I feel comfortable with my mother being there. They keep them occupied to a great deal. I appreciate that as far as just sitting in her room, they've got stuff for her to do every day."

"The staff here was very, very nice. The atmosphere was very warm and very inviting, but the apartments were not complete apartments. They didn't have stoves, for instance. I was looking for a more complete apartment living situation. Their dining area was very nice. I saw a group of residents doing a painting activity. They looked very happy and content, including the people that I passed on the hall. I didn't like it because I didn't care fo the neighborhood. I wouldn't have been comfortable in that neighborhood. At my age, I'm less interested at hanging out in the Loop or being close to it than I was years ago. The facility itself is new, so it's very clean and nice."

"Rockwood is small in a good way but a little bit older and dark inside, so I don’t think it’s going to be a right fit because it’s not updated. I liked that the rooms were quite spacious with a good-size kitchen and a good-size living space and bedroom. The staff is very friendly and very clear about the information. "

"We didn't have an appointment at Friendship Village Sunset Hills. However, one of the nurses took us around, which was very nice. The place looked clean, but you can tell it was an older community. It wasn't as bright and cheery as some of the newer ones. However, everybody appeared to be very happy and well cared for. They're very nice and friendly. We saw a room that had just been vacated. It was very small, older, and didn't have some of the nicer things."

"My cousin is at Tower Grove Manor. For what it is, it is a reasonable cost. He just feels like that's where he needs to be all the time, as long as he's physically able. Economically, that's the best thing for him right now. He has a bathroom and a kitchen. He's happy and satisfied with all the workers and the staff there. He has air-conditioning/heating, freezer/refrigerator, microwave, stove, kitchen cabinets, a kitchen, and a sink. He's got public transportation and they have an elevator in there. He can go outside on a patio. He's real happy with the food. The staff has been pleasant to me and they have maintenance there that's been really good to help my cousin."

"I chose it for my dad because it is very nice. The staff working there is very good. They also have a wide variety of social activities. They have outings, exercise, and book groups. I could say that the food is adequate. They don't have a dining room though. They have individual dining areas for the small groups. The security of the community is very good. "

"Garden Place of Columbia was very decent. The girl walked me around and actually talked to one of the residents more than I did to her. The place was spacious and very clean. They had a snack bar with soda and whatever drinks they wanted always open during the day, so they could go over there anytime if they wanted something to eat. "

"I visited. The person who toured me around was very friendly, seemed very knowledgeable, and was really hoping to put me in the last unit that they had available. It's just the way the place is set up; it's like going to my grandma's house. It seems like it's just geared towards older people, like 80 years old and above. It didn't have much of a youthful feel about it. I've always lived in pretty good-sized houses, and the space was just too small for me. It was immaculate. They took really good care of it and made sure it was presentable. They have more than one dining hall, and they seemed fine, but a little too stuffy for me. The pastel colors that they used just made you feel like you were going to see your grandma. The parking in front was acceptable."

"We've looked at The Boulevard Senior Living in St. Charles. We toured their independent living and it was good. The staff was good too. We liked the place. Just like all the other ones that we looked at, they were comparable. The apartments were nice. It has things that we were looking for in independent living. The staff was helpful, they knew what we were looking for and they were very helpful at providing all the information we needed. We didn't dine but we saw the restaurant and it was nice."

"I toured Wyndham Park II. They were very nice and helpful. There was not as much interaction as the other two places. It was a smaller place, so they didn't have as much staff. The staff that I did encounter were very nice. The rooms were very clean, but it was smaller than the other two. Everyone seemed very happy there."
