"My stepmom moved to Arbor Village at Hillcrest. It's a nice community and affordable. It's an older building, so the structure itself is older and kind of dated-looking, but as far as the community itself, the activities and the community relations director were just wonderful to work with. The staff has been great. When the residents have a request, they respond immediately and take care of their needs. My stepmom said the food was okay. They serve mashed potatoes at every meal, and she doesn't like that because she doesn't want to gain weight. The rooms are very spacious. They have a lot of storage, and that was one of the deciding factors for her. She loves the activities. She goes every day at 11:00 to their exercise class and loves it. What they charge is very comparable, and I think it's adequate for the community."

"We're seriously thinking about Heatherwood. I liked it because it was newly remodeled, and no one had lived in it. It was a very clean place with all the remodeling going on. Their menu was very selective. The staff seemed super friendly. Everything was very clean. They were friendly. They presented us with a meal. They didn't know that we hadn't eaten, so we just got what the residents had left over. It was very tasty. The manager was super informative. She answered all the questions very honestly. She introduced us to a couple of other people, and they seemed really friendly too. She was super good, super friendly, and super informative."

"I'm a resident at Brookdale Boise Parkcenter. It's excellent. They're very good and very fine. Food is average. Room is too small. Friendly people. The bottoms of the lace of the chairs have glides on them, the glides are worn and need to be replaced. Staff couldn't possibly be better. They offer exercise, bingo, religious study, and a variety of things."

"It was awesome. We got a nice tour from Carla. She showed us all the amenities. We were able to talk to some of the residents who were just ecstatic to be there. Everybody seems to love it. The rooms seemed spacious and entirely adequate. We had some other appointments for tours, and we decided not to go on those because we like them so well. We like everything about it. I think it's going to be perfect for my mother."

"I liked Sunny Ridge. They were remodeling when I was there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed a small efficiency where your bed and everything is in the room and it had a separate bathroom and a closet and that's it. It's a little bit small for me because I'm in a two-bedroom now with a large bathroom. It was clean. They had a library, and the activities were nice. They were remodeling the kitchen dining room area, so there wasn't too much going on. The library was open and they had games and stuff that you could play. They had a little kitchen area that you could use for snacks and a washer and dryer in that area where you could do your laundry. It was a good setup. They have a bus that can take you shopping or to your doctor's appointments and they have outings."

"My mother has moved into Edgewood Spring Creek Eagle Island. It has everything, independent, assisted, and memory care. It's very nice, clean, well kept, and peaceful. The staff is helpful. She's in a patio home. It's a nice duplex with a garage. It's spacious, clean, and modern. It's a good value. They have a fitness room, restaurant, bistro, salon, and clubhouse. The landscaping and garden are well kept."

"Spring Creek was very new and clean. My father moved in to a room that has never been occupied before. The staff is very helpful, accommodating, and flexible. The food was good, I have eaten several times myself, and it’s been good. The dining area was very nice and modern, but there’s no courtyard or garden. They have exercise room and lots of activities. I would highly recommend them. "

"Grace Assisted Living at State Street was a very nice building. The food looked good, but they have long halls and it would not have worked for my parents. The rooms were beautiful, had nice little kitchenettes, they were roomy, and light. The dining area was also light, pleasant, and roomy, and they had lots of choices on their menu. The layout was really stretched out because of the long, old halls, but it's very lovely and nicely decorated. They have a nice reception area, and they were friendly when we came in."

"We toured Affinity at Boise. I was impressed with them. The tour was good. The staff was good. The maintenance seemed good. It was clean and well done. It's a brand new building, too."

"I liked Northgate Senior Village's configuration. I have a very large apartment with a nice private backyard area. They have a meal every day, and it's almost a community. "

"Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village was a very nice place. The people that we toured with were very professional and very good at their jobs. I have the assurance that they would take very good care of my mother there. When you're in the assisted living area, the one-room available was nice but was located upstairs, and my mother would have to operate an elevator to get to the dining hall. She wouldn't be able to do that with her memory problems, but they're a very nice place. They also are requiring all of their staff to be vaccinated. We saw the memory care too, and I think she would be well taken care of there even though their rooms were a little smaller. They were getting a meal served to them and it looked fine. They have a nice courtyard area, which is important, for people to be able to enjoy a little bit of the outdoors. There was one problem though, they had a beauty shop, not right exactly in the memory care area, but in the hallway. So, as we were leaving, you could smell that someone was getting a perm and it smells bad."

"My mom was first in an independent place and then she moved into an assisted living room at Garden Plaza of Valley View. I think the staff was very friendly, attentive, and paid a lot of attention to the residents. They have really good meals. You don't have to sit at the same table. They have so many places where they can move around. They have activities and a bus to grocery stores. The facility is really clean inside. The dining room is a nice size, and there's like four people to a table. They have an outdoor area where you can walk around outside, and some patios with gardens. They have a piano in there, and they bring in music. They have a big choice of rooms, a studio apartment all the way to a two-bedroom."
