Memory Care Communities in Eagle, ID

"At Paramount Parks Assisted Living Center, I found a lot that I liked about their facility. I went there to visit a few of the elderly people there and loved how the staff members were so friendly and welcoming to both the guests and to me. There is a game room, an open kitchen area, and much more. The rooms for the residents are quite nice as well; lots of space and a window to look out of (from what I saw anyway). The staff members were very responsible and caring to the residents when I went, which helped make the atmosphere calming and serene. There are large televisions for the residents to watch in the main lounging area and bathrooms in each resident's room. The residents all seemed very happy and seemed to enjoy their time there. It was an overall pleasant assisted living center; not at all gloomy like a couple I have seen in the past. "

"I moved my husband to Brightstar Care Homes 2 weeks ago. It's really good and has only 9 residents. He is in memory care, they are all with Alzheimer's and Dementia. He had to be in a 14-day confinement to his room, but he had a caregiver full time there, and he just got out yesterday. So far so good; they are nice. The room is nice; they're small, but they're about the size of a normal home bedroom. It is very homey and the staff is very caring. The food is all home-cooked."

"The facilities and staff are fantastic, the quality rooms, security, and food services are some of the best in the Treasure Valley. They provide a true family & home environment. The building was built recently, so everything is new and top quality. Veranda is an asset to our Paramount Community."

"My dad is at The Cottages at Lochsa Falls. We chose it because they only have 14 residents at a time, so we felt that with 3 to 4 staff members, our loved ones will get better care. And their rooms are gorgeous. The staff members are really friendly, and they know our names. We visit a lot, and when we come in they're always smiling, they help out, and they can redirect my dad when we're trying to leave and he tries to follow us out the door. They're right there and they're like, "We'll get him to his room." His room is really nice, it's the size of a small apartment, and he has his own bathroom. It's very clean and very updated, everything from the couches to the seating area. They bring in new games every month, and they have different puzzles and board games and stuff to play. They get him out of his room for meals three times a day so he's kind of forced to leave his room, which is good, and come out into the community. They have the option to eat in their rooms, but the staff tries to get them out, which has been a help for him because he's very shy. Every 2 hours they have an event, like fitness, bing, sing-along, and TV shows. So there's something for him to do. Even if they take a nap and get up, they'll eat and have something to do so they're not just sitting around. One thing I like is, my dad is in assisted living/memory care, they hit both in the unit that he's in. And when he progresses into a late-stage level, right out the door of his unit is another center that does level six and later only, with the rooms and everything set up identically. So it doesn't confuse them, and when you move them, they still think they're in the same place, which is really important. We had a Christmas dinner there two nights ago. The cleanliness was just off the chart, you do not smell pee at all. They were cheaper than the ones that we toured, and those places smelled so bad when we opened the door."

"I have just moved my mom into The Cottages at Meridian. There are two cottages, one for memory care and one for assisted living. They're both set up like nice cozy houses. They got fireplaces, and the bedrooms are really big. Because of Covid, we couldn't go in to set my mom's room up for her, but they did that and it's just beautiful. She walked in and she was just so stunned by how beautiful and big it was. The people there are extremely sweet and professional. They're very loving to their residents. It's a really good experience working with them. They were fast and quick because they knew that I needed one pretty quick. It's a really nice place. I have all good things to say about them. They're excellent. They're just very kind, very nice, very patient, and very loving. You can see them interact with the people. When I left there, I felt very confident that my mom is in good hands. My mom's room doesn't look like a studio. It is a bedroom with a bathroom attached, and it's pretty big. It has a closet and a little nook with a window in it. She puts her recliner and her TV in there. It's the same for every resident, but there might be different floor plans. The hallways are short because it's family style, so you don't have to walk a long distance. They have a salon. They have manicure, which is really important to my mom. They have reading out loud, exercises, movie matinees with snacks, trivia day, bible studies, and sing-a-long. They have breakfast, and they have what they call Calming Breakfast music. They have lots of arts and crafts, bingo, morning mingle, and group sharing. Some of the activities are limited because of Covid, but they make sure that the people aren't just sitting around. They have different things for them. I have come at different times and have seen them do different things. At this point, I would rate them excellent, which is the highest rating so far."

"Grace was very open and very helpful, and it's very close to my home. They treated me like family, and the lady was very nice. The administrator was so kind and helpful and went way above and beyond. They had nice common areas, and you get to go out. However, it's in a commercial area, there were not a lot of grounds, but what they had was very nice. "

"My mother is a resident of Meridian Meadows Assisted Living and Memory Care. She's with the assisted living for probably about a month. It's a very nice facility and brand new. It's only been open a few months and they have a small amount of patients. I think their maximum in the assisted living is like 32 residents. So, that's what she was really looking for. She has a 1-bedroom apartment. They have studios also. They are very helpful. They let her in but they wouldn't let me in. But they did allow me to go in the day we moved her so I could get her somewhat settled. As far as the Covid and everything, they're not doing any kind of outside activities, but they try and do inside activities as much as possible. They do have library and beauty salon, and they have a media room that's got huge big recliners and a big screen TV, so they can go in and watch movies and that kind of thing. I think it's probably been open maybe 5-6 months, that's the most. The other thing that we really liked was a lot of the places will charge a certain amount, and then they add what they call levels of care, where depending on how much health they need, it could be another $2,000 or something. Meridian Meadows is a one flat rate. You pay one flat rate a month, it never goes up, and there's no distinction between how much care she needs for the next day. They don't have to pay for extra services. It's all in."

"Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village was a very nice place. The people that we toured with were very professional and very good at their jobs. I have the assurance that they would take very good care of my mother there. When you're in the assisted living area, the one-room available was nice but was located upstairs, and my mother would have to operate an elevator to get to the dining hall. She wouldn't be able to do that with her memory problems, but they're a very nice place. They also are requiring all of their staff to be vaccinated. We saw the memory care too, and I think she would be well taken care of there even though their rooms were a little smaller. They were getting a meal served to them and it looked fine. They have a nice courtyard area, which is important, for people to be able to enjoy a little bit of the outdoors. There was one problem though, they had a beauty shop, not right exactly in the memory care area, but in the hallway. So, as we were leaving, you could smell that someone was getting a perm and it smells bad."

"Harmony Hills Assisted Living was a brand new facility, so it's really nice, but because it's brand new, it lacks human warmth. I didn't see a lot of people, and it's empty and cold. The staff was nice, and the apartment was fine, but it didn't seem quite as bright as the others, it seemed less cheerful, and it felt too quiet. It has a memory care unit attached to an assisted living, and the memory care people were locked in. They had an ice cream bar and the residents can have ice cream any time of day. It's two stories, and the layout was a little bit confusing."

"It is wonderful, and the staff is really good. It's a nice layout. They check on my mom every couple of hours. She likes the food and the activities there, and they take trips. I don't have any complaints. She lives alone in her 2-bedroom apartment. They have art, painting, sing-alongs, live music, harpists and guitar players come in, Bingo, pie social, happy hour on Fridays, and she exercises every day. The food is very good. I like the windows in her room. It's a secure facility, but it's not connected to an assisted living. It's a single-story facility. She likes it there."

"Ashley Manor was really beautifully-decorated and clean. They're very caring about their staff and the lady that showed me around showed me the private rooms and suites which were really nice. The furniture was beautiful, it was decorated nicely and was spotless. What impressed me was that there were two recreation rooms where you can play cards and games, which was nice. I didn't see a lot of staff, but they were very nice and helpful. I visited when it was almost lunch time and the food looked really good."

"We visited several people at Park Place at one time. Entertainers would come in, and we listened to them singing. They did a good job caring for the people there. It was maybe a little bit better place than the others, but it's been a while too since we've been there. It was summer of 2018. They said they needed people to visit other people that didn't get visits from anybody. We were kind of reluctant to do that. We knew this other gal, and she became a dear friend; but when it's a perfect stranger you're going to see, you don't always know if you're going to hit it off. We really didn't hit it off with these other people. It was kind of awkward, so we didn't pursue it. We went there a couple of times and made an attempt to try to befriend these elderly folks. It was a nice place. It was bigger than the others, and it seemed like they always needed help there. They're always advertising for help, so I don't know if they're short staffed or what the deal is. Every time we drive by, they're always needing help for positions. It's right across the street from a park, and it's in a nice neighborhood. The staff members we met were really nice and friendly. I didn't have any problem with them. It's kept up very well."

"The Cottages of Middleton have nice comfortable and clean rooms. They have a very nice dining room with an open view kitchen. The sitting and tv room is also right there which gives a very inclusive feeling. The staff were so kind to my mom and they were so thoughtful of her needs. They were also very caring and nurturing to the family. I am so glad that we found this home and staff to help my mother in her time of need."
