I like the staff at Truewood by Merrill, Boise. The building is clean and well-kept. I don't have any negatives to say. The staff members are very good to my mother. The building's structure is in good shape. They have bingo and happy hour where people from the community come in and play live music. My mother's room is a studio and it's fine. It's very friendly.

We liked Truewood by Merrill very much. It had lots of open seating for visiting. We looked at the studio apartments and they're snugged, but it looked like they're in good order. And they supply a mini fridge and a microwave. I like the staff who gave the tour. She was very positive, knowledgeable, and personable. She was great. They didn't offer the meal, but they showed us the menu. And they explained how the meals and snack bar work. I like the fact that they offer a breakfast service later in the day if my mom sleeps in late.

I toured Truewood by Merrill, Boise. The place was nice and clean. They met me, took me into her office, and she explained everything to me regarding the prices and what to expect, what kind of things they have for the elderly as far as medical, helping them take showers and medications, and stuff like that. They had the nursing staff there on site. The staff took me on a tour, showed me the library where they do the puzzles and trivia, and introduced me to the nursing staff. She showed me a couple of the rooms that they have to offer. The room was very spacious. We looked at the single-bedroom deluxe rooms, and it was like two apartments that they took the wall out and put them together. So each one was very spacious, and they had two bathrooms.

My ex-husband moved into Truewood by Merrill, Boise. They seemed to be taking good care of him. He is located there. They are very accommodating. He's unable to use his phone, but they're always agreeable to bringing him to the phone every time I call. And they call me to let me know how he's doing in memory care. I'm very happy with him being there. I noticed that he had a haircut. They kept him shaved and cleaned up and seemed to be taking good care of him. He always looks clean. The staff was very nice. And they have an active person that seems to do active things with the patients and keep them entertained. I was very happy with what I had seen so far.

We toured Truewood by Merrill, Boise. The staff is outstanding. They're warm and smiling. The memory care people were in there when we went. We saw my husband's room and they were busy doing crafts and things. A lot is going on, and they are not just sitting in chairs. The room my husband will be going into will be shared, and the room itself is immaculate. It looks clean, and it has a beautiful little courtyard, and it's also well-groomed.

I toured Truewood by Merrill, Boise. It's an okay location. But if you look at the outside perimeter, there's some maintenance I think that should be done. If it was for me, it would not have been my first choice. It was a clean, nice mid-range type facility. There is a small fridge and a microwave in the apartment. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. She does this for a living. But she was very helpful and informative. She was very pro at expanding on their facility, but they're all trying to sell their product. We got there just after lunch hour and the food smelled okay. There's a courtyard that needs upgrading. One courtyard was inside the horseshoe or the room area with some sitting areas, some tables and umbrellas, and a little yard area. And then there's a rose garden on the south side of the building, too.

I visited Truewood by Merrill. The experience was very good. The lady who gave me the tour was very understanding of my concerns and cared a lot about finding a good situation for my mom. It was very nice and there were a lot of residents that I was able to talk to. They had positive things to say about Truewood. They had an activity room and it looked like a nice place and community. The one thing I liked about it is there was a lot of outdoor space, and outdoor seating areas that had a lovely enclosed garden area that a lot of the rooms looked out on.

The rooms are tiny and costly. The staff turnover is constant and sometimes there isn’t staff to take care of essential duties. The transportation to appointments is seldom available but part of the cost. An overall attitude lacking concern and empathy for the residents.

My father has moved into Truewood by Merrill, Boise. He's only been there like two weeks, but so far it's been really good. The staff is super friendly. They all reached out the first day we took him in in the morning. He went into the dining room and each of the staff combined introduced themselves and made a point to say 'hi' to him throughout the day while we were going around visiting the different parts of the facility. I like it. I think it's a good place to be. My father has his own self-contained apartment, so he can come and go as he pleases. They have mealtimes down in the dining room. It's more restaurant style than cafeteria style, which I like. He likes that because then he can choose who he gets to sit by. He's starting to make friends already and just kind of fitting in. The apartment my father is in is a studio apartment. It has a little kitchenette in it. We had to furnish it, so we were able to bring in his bed, a couple of recliners for him, a TV, and some personal things from home, which has made it nice because then it feels more like home to him. So that's been a plus. With regards to activities, we haven't experienced a whole lot of that yet because my father hasn't decided to go out and about. But when we were talking to them, they gave them a monthly schedule of their activities. On Friday, they have outings to different stores every week, they have bingo during the week, they have crafts and exercises, and they do movie matinees. They have a couple of people come on different days of the week and they'll come and play music. Residents can come to sit down and have like a little light snack and a drink and enjoy the music from a piano player, a guitarist, and a couple of people singing. So that's what we've noticed so far.

Truewood by Merrill, Boise was very nice. I found that they had the largest mix of men and women. Most of the places are dominated by women. They had 24-hour a day staff, which was great, and the residents that we walked by loved the place. The facility was really nice. The layout was just not ideal for my mom. I would have had to get her a scooter or one of those things that you drive. Anybody who's wheelchair bound has to have to have a scooter, but anybody who's kind of more active, that is a fantastic place for them. They had a hair salon and they did scenic drives, which was nice. The dining room was very nice, too, and they provided a large refrigerator or you had space to put that in. So, that was nice as well.

I toured Truewood by Merrill, Boise. I made a deposit on a room and then they decided that they wouldn't accept my dad. The staff members I met were super friendly and outgoing. I like them. We mostly focused on studio-type rooms; however, they didn't have one available. It seems like they keep plenty of residents there. But I thought the rooms were nice. They're small, but they are wonderful. They usually look out into courtyards, and they have little kitchenettes in them. I like their rooms. The grounds were nice. They have several courtyard areas. Some are more private, and some are more open to other residents. They were nice. They have gardening and stuff. They have more of a restaurant-style seating in the dining room. We went during dinner, and it smelled wonderful. They had lasagna. They have their own chef there. The dining area was nice. They give you a couple of hours to go there and enjoy each meal. They seemed to have plenty of activities, too. The staff were really into activities; they were promoting them. I like the way the facility was set up, and I like the staff members a lot.

I liked Truewood by Merrill, Boise. The staff were nice. The residents looked happy. The apartments were also nice. Some of them had newer cabinets and appliances and some of them had older ones. Of course, the newer ones were much nicer yet they were the same price. Other than that, they were great. I went into the dining area and saw the food. The lady said they have an Italian cook. I looked at the salads and the sandwiches and some of the entrees, and they looked great. Their dining area was spacious and inviting, too, and the residents were enjoying themselves. They've got a bistro, a happy hour, a hair salon, a library, a game room, and another room where ladies can get together and play games or cook (it's got a kitchen in it). It was very clean. The building was older but it's been redone. So it was still very nice.

I'm at Truewood by Merrill, Boise. They have been very friendly and very helpful. I like my room. It's a small apartment, but it's a nice place to be in. I'm a finicky eater, but they will accommodate my taste when they serve something that I don't like. I think the place is maintained fairly well. But I would appreciate it if they would dust the baseboards and the doorframes and those kinds of things. They need a lot of cleaning.

I went to Truewood by Merrill, Boise. They did a great job initially of showing us, the building was very comfortable, and very clean. Very friendly staff. We did get to eat while we were there and it was good. We did move her furniture into that place, but they had not assessed her yet since she was in the hospital and then a rehab facility. We got her all moved in. It took us four and a half weeks to get her all moved in and stuff put away and, after four and a half weeks, they called us one day and said the nurse had been to visit her and decided that they didn't like the fact that she had diabetes and they wouldn't take her and we had to move her out. I would rate them highly had that not happened. They seemed like very competent people. The room was a little small, but it was all she could afford, and they were very keen to help us whenever we needed anything. But the way that they did that has caused us a lot of pain. So that was not good. But outside that, I would recommend the place. What they need in my opinion, is they need to have more nursing staff. They've only got three days a week and they need to have more nursing staff. My sister would still be there now. They had lots of outdoor space, they had lots of people coming in to visit, and they would take them shopping, and take them to the doctor.

My husband has moved into Truewood by Merrill, Boise. He has been there for three weeks now. It's a stunningly beautiful two-bedroom. I spent two days staging it. It is a lovely, lovely location. One of the deciding factors for me was how close it was to where I lived. The staff is lovely, genuine, kind, and nurturing. My husband's room was prepared beautifully. It's clean, neat, and everything is in place. I was freshly painted. It was beautiful. They got nine-foot ceilings and crown molding. It's just beautiful. They have a staff issue right now in the dining room. They're hiring people. This is a tough market for entry-level positions. There are a lot of people going out there and offering them jobs. There was some complaining going on. But the food has always been good when I've been there. The dining area is warm, bright, light, and easy to access from any place in the community. It's very nice. They got a great food option, and they overlap meals so you can get breakfast until 2. They have bingo. They have a movie night. They have cocktail hour on Friday. If somebody wants to get involved, there is a lot to get involved with there. There is a lot of entertainment. They come in and they play the piano. I would recommend this place 100% plus. Interestingly, it was my favorite place, it was the closest, and it had the best value in bang for your dollar.

Truewood by Merrill, Boise was a beautiful and clean place. The people were very friendly. I saw the dining area and it's like being in a restaurant where you order your food. The apartments were nice and clean, and they had beautiful views out the windows. They had a rose garden and it's huge. They have a lot of nice places in the building with fireplaces. The residents seemed to know each other. They can have small dogs, and there are adorable dogs roaming around and they call the dogs by name. They have a nice movie theater which they do once a week. When I was there, they were doing Halloween stuff. They take the residents to doctor's appointments, shopping trips, or hikes.

I thought Truewood by Merrill, Boise was excellent. Everyone that we met, staff-wise, was very friendly and outgoing. The place was very clean and beautifully decorated. They showed an activity room and a salon that sort of thing, and those were all great. What I like best is the staff, how friendly and outgoing they were. What I didn't like was the room, the bedroom was very small, and you had to have your bathroom door closed all the time or it would block off your entrance into the bedroom. I didn't like that layout, otherwise, it was great.

Truewood by Merrill, Boise was very well maintained, very clean, and very homey. It felt very welcoming when we walked into the place. Everybody there was fantastic. The staff during the tour was exceptional and very forthcoming with everything. She walked us through the rooms. She's very, very personable. We liked her. The dining area was very clean and very well maintained. They talked about the food, but we didn't see any food or any of that stuff. Because of Covid, they didn't have as much in the dining area. A few people were eating, but we just kind of stayed away from there. They showed us some of the things that they had, the game rooms and their barbershops, but we didn't see any of the other stuff. We didn't get quite that far.

Everybody's very friendly at Truewood by Merrill, and the place was real clean. They were just getting opened up after COVID, so a lot of things were just getting going. They have a place where they do movie nights and a library too. The menus are provided, they do fishing, music, billiards, and they allow pets. The people were also very kind, and were really, really nice. They actually gave me some extra information, too, about some other things that I should look into.

We toured Willow Park and I was very pleasantly impressed. We were primarily looking for something like cottages and we thought their cottages were outstanding and the home itself was outstanding. We were able to see the dining room, but we did not participate in any meal. We were looking at cottages and we were shown a 2-bedroom that was furnished for display purposes. It was clean and was ideal for senior citizens. Then we walked to the main building where they have the apartments and stuff for those that needed more care. They were outstanding and the grounds were just fantastic. We thought it was very nice. They have a library and a lot of things going on. It was on a street that is not too busy and close to shopping and churches. They were close to an athletic club that was within half a mile or something like that, which had a pool. So that was what we noticed. They have transportation if they need to go shopping or to your doctor. I think it is an ideal location. They are within a mile and a half of a pretty major shopping area. They have reading time, they have chips available, and you sign up for that. We saw the list for the whole month at that time, all the things that were planned and available. You can do your meals in your cottage if you want to, or you can sign up and have your meals in the main house in the big building. It's like restaurant meals. The staff that we met were two ladies, they hosted us for everything, and they were outstanding. One of them has been there for, I think she said 15 years or something, and the other one's been there seven years. They were both very outgoing and friendly. The one who has been there longer remembered my aunt and uncle very fondly and it was nice. The staff that was serving the meals in the dining room all seemed friendly. They didn't talk to people on a tour, but they talked to the people who live there. They didn't want to serve people on tour because they weren't sure about the Covid thing.

I like Willow Park. It was a nice one, and it could work once we convince my friend to move forward. It is well organized and clean, and they have very friendly staff. They have all the amenities that a person would need. They have independent apartments, hospice, and memory care, but I didn't go there because my friend really just needs assisted living. They explained the fee schedule, and they actually have some specials running this month, but I doubt that I would get her moving that quickly. I looked at a small studio apartment. It was comfortable with a kitchenette. I really was impressed with the bathroom, which was large and well adapted for special needs. They have an emergency button, and they also offer a pendant that residents can wear if they have any incidents. The dining area is spacious. We looked at the menu, and they seemed to have their largest meal at noon. They said they have been experimenting with doing a continental breakfast and allowing residents to take it to their rooms, but unless you have something to carry it on like a walker, that wouldn't work out, so a walker is something that my friend would certainly need because she would probably prefer to eat in her room. They weren't eating at the time, but I'm sure that it meets all her needs. We are familiar with some other facilities from when my mother-in-law was in one, and Willow Park was more upgraded than the one that she lived in. It was really nice. For me, it is located in a good place, and it is not that far from my home. I would be perfectly happy putting her in there. They have a library, a salon, a place where people can watch shows, a lot of seating areas for people who need to stop and rest frequently, and two courtyards that are very nice. They had a class doing exercises when we were there. The girl who gave me a tour was fabulous, too.

My friend moved into Willow Park. The experience is very, very good. They were accommodating in the midst of the pandemic, they had rules, we kept within the rules, and they were ready for us to do whatever we needed to do to decorate the room, and their mechanical staff put in the TV exactly where we wanted it. The meals are good. They have an in-house doctor, actually the lady is a nurse practitioner, but that's as close as you can get to an M.D., so it's been a good experience. The staff is very competent and very cooperative. One of the days that we were bringing furniture in, they had the first concert in the dining hall that they have had for a year. They have live musicians in there and it was pretty good.

My experience with Willow Park was great, but it was just too far away. They were very organized. We fell in love with it, and we really liked it. In fact, we started the ball rolling to put my dad there, and then I kind of got cold feet because it wasn't close to where my mom lives, and she couldn't get there herself. We would have moved him in there by now if it had not been so far away. I was only allowed into their little vestibule between the two front doors to pick up documents and paperwork. I looked inside, and it was beautiful. We were looking at a shared room, which was quite small, there was about half a wall between the two sections of the room -- but we got a pretty good feel for it. One of the things that they pointed out is that when the nurse comes in to check, they can check two people at one time. It was a gorgeous facility. From the front windows, you could see into the main reception area, and they had it cutely decorated for Valentine's Day. When I went back the next time, it was decorated for St. Patrick's Day. I saw some interactions between staff and residents while I was sitting there waiting, and I just really like it. It's just a really nice place.

Willow Park was a bigger facility than the others I looked at, and it wasn't family oriented. The hallways were very long. For my mom, she would get lost there. You didn't really see anybody, but the staff, walking by. I don't think they were quarantined. I just think the place was so big. I had an appointment, but when I got there, the staff didn't even know I was supposed to be there and she called me by another name. It was obvious that they had two appointments at the same time. She was very confused about it. She said, "What I can do for you? What would you like to know?" I feel like they should have said, "This isn't about us. This is what we're going to do, and these were the things we do." She wasn't prepared at all; she was kinda flustered. I got very upset with her. She knew it, and she apologized, then she took me to see a room. It was a nice room, but I didn't get an overall loving feeling from it, which is what I was looking for, for my mom. They just showed me a sample of their room, but they didn't say what the kinds of rooms they have. The only thing that really stood out that they told me was that I can pay for extra and have some of the memory care people taken out and put in a group setting where they can socialize, but I feel that they should be doing that anyhow without extra money.

In short this is an extremely positive review of Willow Park and the great people at Willow Park, who accompanied my Mother and our family on a four-year journey through Assisted Living and Memory Care. The rooms and the food were very nice. The facility is relatively small which is an advantage in my mind. The space allows the residents to easily get around with a library and multiple sitting areas. The outdoor space is excellent with a beautiful rose garden. However it was clear from my very first tour with Mary H., that Willow Park was about people. Unlike other facilities, Mary introduced me to both residents and staff and let those full conversations be my guide on whether this was the right place to bring my mom. She was, at the time, in the early stages of dementia and could no longer safely care for herself at home. One of the unique programs at Willow Park is the amazing Bridges program, for people in early stages of dementia, who would likely need Memory Care in the future. In all of the places that I looked, (~ 10), nobody offered or mentioned such a dynamic and practical pre-memory care program. Monica is the heart and sole of the program. When the time came for her to move into Memory Care, Monica and Zach prepared us for event and let us know what to expect and how to deal with my Mom’s questions and adjustment. Memory Care was the saddest day of my life, however, the staff proved to me that she would be safe and well cared for. More than that, they became her friends and family. I visited 3+ times a week, but I could spend time with her and didn’t need to worry about other issues. If I thought she needed something, it was all quickly taken care of from her medicine, food preferences (ice cream) and entertainment. If I asked questions they knew the answers or would find out by the time I left. Aaron, Linda and Albina should be complimented for leading such a great team in a difficult situation. Most importantly, was the humanity exhibited not only during her final weeks, but also over her entire two years in Memory Care. After she was placed on comfort measures by the hospice team, the staff helped maintain her dignity and looked after her. We got a sense that they truly knew, cared for and loved her as a human being and not just a “resident.” As I was saying goodbye to her, it was clear the staff was saying goodbye to her as well. Over her last days they took impeccable care of my Mother and our family. Many thanks to all of the exceptional people who took the time to know Alice, feed her, keep her safe and truly give her dignity at a time when she was so vulnerable, we compliment Willow Park and their truly wonderful staff, praise you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We saw independent and low level assisted living at Willow Park. They didn't have my appointment scheduled, and the person I was supposed to have the tour with was touring with somebody else. A gentleman stepped in, but he wasn't as prepared as the lady who does that all the time. He briefly showed me some things and the prices, which were way higher than any other place in the Valley. They should have the right person to give the tour and make sure that they have their appointments straight. I even have an email confirmation for the appointment from them. It was frustrating for me. It was a very pretty and very clean facility, and the dining room was open, comfortable, and pretty as well.

Willow Park Assisted Living was excellent. It felt very warm, inviting, and the woman who gave us the tour spent a lot of time with us. I felt she was really direct when we ask questions and really honest, it just had a good feeling about it, and I liked their philosophy and how they operate is based on European elder care. It seemed like it would be a good fit if we could make it work. We looked at both a studio, a 1-bedroom, and 2-bedrooms. I think they had an open floor plan, and it was really pleasant, and really nice. It was 10 years old, but it's super nice, and clean, it was a place where I can see someone in my dad's age group feel super at home there, because it had a homey feeling about it. They had a veterans group, a pretty good size catholic population which would be interesting to my dad because he's very into his church, they had speakers coming in, and this particular place had a focus on continuing education for the elderly, so they would bring speakers on interesting subjects. They had a library area, they had a meeting room where they could show movies, and they had a place for gardening. They had outings to the theater, library, and shopping. They would be our number one pick. They're more expensive, but they definitely had the best feeling, the best program and life experiences for the people.

Willow Park was a very nice and very clean community. They provide lots of activities. They have cottages, which is an important feature. The staff member that showed me around was very informative. I saw the inside of one of the cottages, and it was nice. It was a pretty good size, and it seemed to be in good condition.

Willow Park Assisted Living was a very nice community. They have a wide array of activities and it's well organized. We just didn't like the long halls and the distance from the dining room and the activity rooms. It has an elevator to the second floor. It's a large community and my parents would have been lost. They wouldn't have taken advantage of the activities. They have a separate chef and a separate dining staff, which is wonderful, and the food was very good. They had a good outreach staff, and they were very understanding and willing to help me decide if the place was a good fit for my parents. It was exceptionally clean and organized. They have good staff members when you come in the door, and the residents looked happy and engaged.

Willow Park Assisted Living was excellent. It's the first place we toured, and they spent two hours with us and answered a ton of questions. They gave us lots of education, which then made visiting other places quicker and better, she did an outstanding job. They gave us a complete tour of the memory care portion of it as well. The dining area was beautiful. They gave us a calendar of all the various activities. We went on Halloween, but we didn't observe any activities then. A person gets to bring some of their own furnishings in, and the room has a nice layout. It's nice not having any fire hazards as far as cooking. It's a nice place for someone who doesn't want to cook anymore but gets the social aspect.

I didn't like Willow Park Assisted Living because there were much more females. It's a very large place with lots of people. It does have a facility for those with Alzheimer's but it wasn't that good to me. I have a friend who lives there and I don't think she's getting good care like she should.

I visited Willow Park Assisted Living, and it was very good. The staff was very friendly. It did look a little rundown, but they were renovating some things. They were putting in some new carpeting. We looked at the cottages. They were really nice, 2-bedrooms with a bath and a full kitchen. That's not what we were looking for. They did not have any available at that time, but it was really nice. They have exercise classes, shuttles to take you to your doctors' appointments, they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, different crafts things you can do during the week, and they have a TV/movie area you can use.

This is a very good assisted living facility. I would recommend willow park senior living to everyone. The staff is always very professional and polite to their residents. The cooks do a great job preparing and serving the residents as well. Thank you willow park for your great kindness and patience with all your residents.

They're very personable at Willow Park Assisted Living. When I pulled up, they actually had a placard in my parking space that said, "Welcome," with my name on it. They let me meet with some of the residents and staff there, and I also met their chef. The tour was very comprehensive. My mother-in-law may need assisted living in the future and my father-in-law needs memory care, but they made me feel like they understand how to work with that type of situation, and can make my mother-in-law as comfortable as possible. They gave me a cookie, it was fantastic. The chef is a full-on gourmet chef. They rotate the menus every six to eight weeks so the variety of food is really good. Plus, if the residents want anything different, they can cook that for them as well.

Willow Park was very nice, and very well-maintained. The cottages were large, including the 2-bedroom units we wanted, but these were outside the main building. We wanted a facility inside a building because of the Idaho weather. The food was very good, they're one of the cheapest facilities, but they seemed to be for older residents, and they didn't have a lot of activities.

We visited Willow Park, but they didn't really have what we needed. We wanted a private room, but they didn't have that type of thing for us. We didn't like the smell in the memory care side. The staff was very efficient and very gracious with us. We saw the activities briefly, and it looked like they had quite a few things going on.

If any of the clients I have need an Assisted Living Community I send them to Willow Park. Willow Park has an amazing staff! The food is extremely delicious! If you need a great community for you or a loved one I highly recommend Willow Park.

My mom lived at Willow Park for 16 months. The most kind, compassionate and caring staff in every area of this facility. They have an outstanding activity program with a variety of things for the residents to do. The facility is clean and comfortable with friendly staff, I cannot say enough positive things about Willow Park. I highly recommend this facility!

Willow Park is an unbelievable assisted living facility. My grandmother lived there 15 years ago and now my in laws have lived there for almost a year. (Father in law recently deceased). The staff is unbelievably compassionate and this place feels more like a family than a "facility". I cannot say enough about the people they find to work here. The turnover is low so each person there feels like a friend and treats my in-laws as if they were their own parent/grandparent. Highly, highly recommend!

Willow Park was fairly new, and they kept everything nice and up to date. They have recreation, the staff is friendly, and if you have questions, they get right back to you. The security system is good. However, it was a little high.

My father stayed at Willow Park, and it was a very nice place. The food was really good, and the employees were the best. They have a good reputation. He lived there for several years before he passed away. It was very attractive. They had a lot of activities going on. The people there were very happy. They had everything there that you normally would expect for an assisted living. They offered a lot of things for the elderly, transportation, etc. They hosted nice family meals around the holidays. The people that worked there were just about the best and really were nice people. The thing that stood out the most about it was it was so clean.

5 months ago my folks, ages 92 and 94, moved into Willow Park. What a move at that age! Fortunately for us the staff at Willow Park were extraordinary and so very helpful. During these last few months my mother has blossomed into a happier, lovelier and more energetic person. My dad has started to participate in the variety of activities, field trips and social events offered by Willow Park. They are both making new friends among both the residents and staff and generally seem very happy. We have been particularly pleased with how quickly the staff at Willow Park respond to our requests and questions concerning our parents care.

Willow Park was very accommodating, very helpful, very warm, and welcoming. The facility was very attractive, very clean, very nicely kept, and attractively decorated. They have a van or bus they use to take people out to activities, shopping, and all kinds of special events.

Willow Park was a larger stand alone facility with an in and out staff, larger rooms, and a private bath in each room. It was larger, and it was two floors. Cleanliness was very good. The staff seemed very friendly and on top of things. They have a larger dining facility. They have almost a commercial like kitchen and staff.

We visited Willow Park, and it was very welcoming. They did the general things -- exercises, games, church worship -- and they would take them out on their bus. It was very well set up and very well cared for. I was extremely impressed with the manager that talked to me; we got along extremely well. We really like the staff and the way they were interacting with the residents. It would've been nice, but it was just not in the budget.

Willow Park is the first place that I visited. I thought it was OK, and I didn’t have any problem with the place. The lady that I talked to wasn't the friendliest person, which kind of turned me off. My mother-in-law is 95 years old, and we are talking about taking her out of her home. Of course she is going to be oppositional to that. But the all or nothing attitude is not the kind of care I want my mother-in-law to have. I thought it was condescending to view her as behavioral instead of trying to understand her. So that kind of ended that right there. It doesn't matter how good the care is if they are not going to try to understand her or even say there are medications to help with that. There are solutions because I worked with special education; I understand this. But I felt I understood it more than she did. So it wasn't the facility as much as it was the person that turned me off. She told me all of her credentials and how long she has been doing it and how wonderful she is. It really doesn't matter if I don't like her; she can be wonderful to somebody else. The facility looked pleasant, and it smelled OK. It's just the other place is nicer both in facility and staff.

To me, Willow Park Assisted Living & Memory Care was kind of dark. I had a cup of tea that looked fine, and the food smelled really good though. The rooms were small, but a lot of people like that. They were all clean. To me, it just felt too medical.

My mother-in-law is in Willow Park, and I would recommend it. The staff has been there for a lot of years. The first contact we had was with the lady that has been there for 12 years. She is the administrator from the kitchen staff down to even the nurse’s aides and so forth. I don’t know specifically what their benefit package is but I have been told that they have a pretty good employee package for their employees to try and keep them. So that’s one reason why I think they are maybe a little bit ahead of some others. They treat their residents well, and they are all friendly. It’s just a very pleasant place to be. The atmosphere when you walk in the door is not of a nursing home or assisted living; it’s more of a hotel atmosphere. It has a dining room that you sit and you reserved as if you are in a restaurant so they come up and ask what you want. They have a couple of main entrees for meals, but they also have what they call an anytime menu that if you don’t like what’s being offered for lunch or dinner you can order off any time menu which consists of a loaded big taquito or Caesar salad so that you can find something that you like. I think it is really good as well. I have a friend who is in a different facility that I often compared it to, and I’m not going to say the one that she is in is not good -- it is -- but the other factor of course to consider is cost. Willow Park for the Boise is toward the upper end in cost, and they do not take Medicaid patients, so because of that I think they can afford to be a little better.

I like Willow Park very much. I would have moved there had they had a vacancy. They had individual bungalows for the independent living and that appealed to me. It was just like having your own little house and yet, you're still part of the community and that appealed to me. I like that. The staff was very helpful. They're very good. Food was very good too.

I walked through Willow Park, and their facility seemed nice, just walking down the hall. It looked clean. I just kind of got in, and the staff was helping someone at the reception desk, and I just acted like I knew where I was going. It might’ve been in the middle of the afternoon, maybe they were napping or something, but there were a few residents, I think, watching TV. I think the living environment was more of a hospital setting. I thought it was kind of dated, but that was probably because of the décor, but I think the older people would’ve liked it. My mom would’ve loved it, but not me. The setting was kind of Victorian; it seemed like kind of mauves and greens. The dining room was a nice, adequate size. The grounds seemed like a nice walk, and there were trees and flower beds.

I really liked the vibe and the staff at Willow Park. I also liked the activities. I thought they were working hard on their food. The downside was again the rooms were small and dated. The grounds were also dated and when you looked outside, there was no particularly new décor. It was kind of just plain squares and didn't have much architecture to it. It was slightly aged but clean.

Willow Park Assisted Living had different levels of care. My parents were in the assisted living area. If the resident had memory problems, they had a transitional program before they went to the locked unit. They met all the staff and did activities with the other residents there and they became comfortable with the area by the time they went there. The place was extremely pet friendly which was really nice since my parents had a big dog. There was a close courtyard where the residents took their dogs for walks and they did not worry about the dirt because someone else picked it up.

My sisters mother in law was in this facility and they would not keep her blood sugar regulated!! She ended up in the hospital of a blood sugar level of over 750!! it ended up irreversible and was ultimately due to other complications the death of her. She also fell once in her bathroom and was not found until morning time. I can understand if you are younger and more independent this facilty may be fine but if you are older say 80plus or your health is failing this is not the place for your loved one to be for sure!!!

I believe that this assisted living facility was the best for my mother because it has a very attentive professional staff and a lot of room to move around. The outside courtyard provides plenty of outside area for her to move around and socialize with others. The food I have heard is very good and nutritious. Also the rooms a very personalized and accommodating.
