"My father has moved into Truewood by Merrill, Boise. He's only been there like two weeks, but so far it's been really good. The staff is super friendly. They all reached out the first day we took him in in the morning. He went into the dining room and each of the staff combined introduced themselves and made a point to say 'hi' to him throughout the day while we were going around visiting the different parts of the facility. I like it. I think it's a good place to be. My father has his own self-contained apartment, so he can come and go as he pleases. They have mealtimes down in the dining room. It's more restaurant style than cafeteria style, which I like. He likes that because then he can choose who he gets to sit by. He's starting to make friends already and just kind of fitting in. The apartment my father is in is a studio apartment. It has a little kitchenette in it. We had to furnish it, so we were able to bring in his bed, a couple of recliners for him, a TV, and some personal things from home, which has made it nice because then it feels more like home to him. So that's been a plus. With regards to activities, we haven't experienced a whole lot of that yet because my father hasn't decided to go out and about. But when we were talking to them, they gave them a monthly schedule of their activities. On Friday, they have outings to different stores every week, they have bingo during the week, they have crafts and exercises, and they do movie matinees. They have a couple of people come on different days of the week and they'll come and play music. Residents can come to sit down and have like a little light snack and a drink and enjoy the music from a piano player, a guitarist, and a couple of people singing. So that's what we've noticed so far."

"My mom has been in Sunny Ridge for about a week and a half now. We were very impressed with the overall feel when we walked in, the friendliness of the residents that lived there, the longevity of time they spent their, and the services available. Several of our friends randomly went and visited once they knew that we were going to have my mom live there. I didn't know they were going to go visit. They just walked in because they wanted to see, and they had the very same thoughts that we had. When you're talking to the residents that have been there anywhere from 3 to 5 years, that says something. They are happy, too. There are senior activities. The day that we were moving my mom in, there was a person that brought in bongo drums or something. There were several people sitting around learning to play bongo drums. They take them to Walmart. They also provide transportation to medical appointments. They have a hair salon and laundry facilities. There are church services on Sunday and different activities going on."

"We toured Meadow View Assisted living and Memory Care. They didn't have beds in the memory care, so it was not going to be an option for us. The memory care facility was very homey, and I liked it. The person who accommodated me was very nice. I would love to place my parent there if they had a room available, even though the distance is far for us."

"We were very happy with The Cottages of Emmett. The staff and the whole place was wonderful. It had a doctor on staff and provided three meals a day, which you could eat in the dining room or served in your room. It had an Activities Director to keep the residents busy and a van that would take you to whatever appointment you had. The residents can have snacks in between meals or late at night. They had satellite TV. "

"We actually visited several and decided on Spring Creek Eagle Island. It is a little different than some of the others I have visited; it is a little more individualized. They have their own little garage and their own washing and drying facilities in their apartment. That was huge because my mom has dementia, and it is hard for her to walk along the hallway with her stuff to wash and dry them and then get it back. So that was probably the biggest thing. It is brand new, so it looks wonderful. It is independent where she is right now, but they are building an assisted facility right on the same ground should she need that in the future because I was a little hesitant because it is full-blown independent, but now that I know this would be an option, I felt much more comfortable. We talked to two of their people, and they were both wonderful. They showed us around the facility and went ahead and took our deposit, but said, "You know what? Just let us know when you are ready. Rent will not start until you are ready to move in" which was a real relief. They really seem to understand where we were and what we were looking for. "

"My mother, Marilyn, has been a resident of The Cottages since February, 2016. Though she was reluctant to go into assisted living in the beginning, The Cottages has become her home and it has given our family peace of mind in knowing that our mother is in such a caring and warm environment. She has developed numerous friendships and is an active participant in activities, despite her hearing loss. And we can't say enough about the administrative staff and her caregivers. She loves them and so do we. They even facilitate Zoom meetings for us so we, her 5 daughters, can visit with our mom during the current visitation limitation imposed by the Covid-19 virus. 5 STARS all around for The Cottages in Middleton. -Teri"

"At Paramount Parks Assisted Living Center, I found a lot that I liked about their facility. I went there to visit a few of the elderly people there and loved how the staff members were so friendly and welcoming to both the guests and to me. There is a game room, an open kitchen area, and much more. The rooms for the residents are quite nice as well; lots of space and a window to look out of (from what I saw anyway). The staff members were very responsible and caring to the residents when I went, which helped make the atmosphere calming and serene. There are large televisions for the residents to watch in the main lounging area and bathrooms in each resident's room. The residents all seemed very happy and seemed to enjoy their time there. It was an overall pleasant assisted living center; not at all gloomy like a couple I have seen in the past. "

"What we loved about Edgewood Spring Creek - Eagle was that the staff was just wonderful. The director was so knowledgeable and very caring. They don't have a turnover in the staffing. The director had been there 13 years and that makes the difference. That's what I was attracted to with this place. It's a smaller place. They only had 32 residents, so it was nice. It was excellent. What stood out was the staff and the longevity of the staff. The activity director had been there forever and she had this wonderful party going when we got there and we surprised them. We didn't let them know we were there. I talked to some of the residents and they had a lot of wonderful things to say. It's very cheery and bright. We were going to switch mom to there, but she refused to move. The studio apartment was clean, bright, painted, and had a nice carpet. It was nice and close to the dining room. According to the residents, the food was good. They brought in emotional support dogs that worked with the residents there. That was kind of a nice thing, too. I was impressed. It's a lot older than what we were used to, but it was a very nice place. I would have liked to have tried it. I liked the fact that it was smaller."

"We were thinking of getting my mother in law to a facility that has a retirement community with an assisted living so when she progresses the transition would be easier. Right now she is able to take care of herself. I visited Sister's Villa and it's not a retirement home. It's a Section 8 apartment. You need to be able to cook for yourself. They have no activities. She is fairly independent but she needs activities to keep her busy. You have to walk distances there and my mother-in-law can only walk a block since she is on a walker. So, I think this facility is not a good fit for her. "

"The facilities and staff are fantastic, the quality rooms, security, and food services are some of the best in the Treasure Valley. They provide a true family & home environment. The building was built recently, so everything is new and top quality. Veranda is an asset to our Paramount Community."

"I have just moved my mom into The Cottages at Meridian. There are two cottages, one for memory care and one for assisted living. They're both set up like nice cozy houses. They got fireplaces, and the bedrooms are really big. Because of Covid, we couldn't go in to set my mom's room up for her, but they did that and it's just beautiful. She walked in and she was just so stunned by how beautiful and big it was. The people there are extremely sweet and professional. They're very loving to their residents. It's a really good experience working with them. They were fast and quick because they knew that I needed one pretty quick. It's a really nice place. I have all good things to say about them. They're excellent. They're just very kind, very nice, very patient, and very loving. You can see them interact with the people. When I left there, I felt very confident that my mom is in good hands. My mom's room doesn't look like a studio. It is a bedroom with a bathroom attached, and it's pretty big. It has a closet and a little nook with a window in it. She puts her recliner and her TV in there. It's the same for every resident, but there might be different floor plans. The hallways are short because it's family style, so you don't have to walk a long distance. They have a salon. They have manicure, which is really important to my mom. They have reading out loud, exercises, movie matinees with snacks, trivia day, bible studies, and sing-a-long. They have breakfast, and they have what they call Calming Breakfast music. They have lots of arts and crafts, bingo, morning mingle, and group sharing. Some of the activities are limited because of Covid, but they make sure that the people aren't just sitting around. They have different things for them. I have come at different times and have seen them do different things. At this point, I would rate them excellent, which is the highest rating so far."

"We're living in Grace Independent Living & Assisted Living at Caldwell, and I think it's a really nice establishment. They play bingo, they do some exercises, they go on walks, they have an hour trip to a couple of different stores about twice a week, and a little entertainment, but they need something more at night to keep people from going back to their room at 5:30 or 6:00 pm. The staff is really good, but we've had a high turnover of cooks. I think the meals will get better when they get a permanent cook. We have a library, and we have a room with a lot of activities like games, bingo, and a couple of movies are shown per week."

"My mom went to the memory care facility on a daycare basis. They welcomed her with open arms, they were competent, clean,, very caring, and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them. The facility was clean, and all the residents seemed happy."
