"I like the staff at Truewood by Merrill, Boise. The building is clean and well-kept. I don't have any negatives to say. The staff members are very good to my mother. The building's structure is in good shape. They have bingo and happy hour where people from the community come in and play live music. My mother's room is a studio and it's fine. It's very friendly."

"My husband moved to Overland Court Senior Living. They are very clean. Walking through, I can see them taking care of the other patients. They're just very caring. They're watchful. They came right away when we came in and introduced themselves to my husband. The cool thing they did was they put a big poster on his door that said welcome home, and all of the nurses signed it and wrote something. That was sweet. It's very pretty. The rooms are very nice. I like the fact that the rooms don't have a shower, they just have a half bath and a shower room."

We saw the 1-bedroom apartment and the studio, and they were both very nice. They had many games and many books to read. They had a beautiful craft room. They had an outdoor vegetable garden, and an outdoor rose garden, and they were very clean and very accessible."

"I toured Meadow View Assisted Living and Memory Care. The director of memory care was super enthusiastic and super friendly. She was bubbly, just like what my mother-in-law would enjoy. She would have connected with my mother-in-law. It's a big, connected building, and it's beautiful. They have water features and really nice landscaping. They have chairs where the seniors can sit outside and enjoy the landscaping and the water feature. They provide home cooked meals and group activities. We toured both assisted living and memory and all the rooms have private bathrooms, so there's no share there. The rooms are nice sized. However, in the memory care, I didn't see anyone who was like some of the people where my mother-in-law lives now. They all seemed kind of a level above cognitively. But I thought it was great, I really did. The two ladies were wonderful and very professional. In the assisted living, they were having a party with balloons. It was a baby shower for one of the staff people, actually. So that was kind of interesting that they're all in there doing that. I saw the outdoor areas where residents could go, and of course, the assisted living comes and goes as they please. I would recommend it."

"I visited The Cottages of Emmett. It was a very homey place, I like that, but they were just too expensive. For private pay patients, it's a $3400 a month base rate, then they start adding for nursing care, $80 a point. They wanted me to sign the contract, locking me into 24 months of private pay before they would allow the patient to be rolled over to Medicaid. I can't do that. The staff were really nice and very polite. They were able to show us an empty room and the size of the room that you would be probably moving into. They also showed some things like the air conditioning and heating in the room, the size of the bathroom, and things like that. I only saw one room, and it was in the process of being cleaned. It wasn't ready, ready to move into right at that moment, but it was a nice, large-sized room. I think it would make a comfortable apartment for an elderly person."
