"My dad has moved into Wheatland Village. It's very nice, and everything is very clean and orderly. The staff members are incredible, tuned in, friendly, and caring. We just found everything about it to be exactly what we were looking for. They have a person who does physical activity, they can lift weights on a machine, they have a bus that will take them downtown or wherever they need to go, they have scheduled walks with different groups, and they can walk around the outside of the facility for exercise. The dining area is really nice, and they just remodeled it, like they put in new carpet, new tables, and new chairs, and they painted the walls too. As for the food, my dad is pretty picky, and so far he hasn't turned anything down. There is a swimming pool, a hot tub, a workout facility, a library, a bank, and an ice cream parlor that is open from 10:00 to 3:00, and you get free ice cream. I found everybody to be most helpful, considerate, patient, and kind. The place is very clean and very well organized. They clean my dad's room, and they do his laundry. They're just on top of it. Everything is just outstanding. They don't have just assisted living there, they also have people that are just retired and living there, so there's a lot of activities, and it isn't just a bunch of older people sitting around in wheelchairs or walking around in walkers. There's energy and life in the place because of the people that live there, and that inspired me and my dad as well."

"We looked here. It was very nice. It was very clean, very quiet, very attractive, and very appropriate for independent living. The people working there were very knowledgeable, very polite, very considerate, and very accommodating. They answered all our questions, showed us around, and showed us the rooms. They were very complimentary. We think this is a very nice place, and when we need it, that's where we want to go. They provide meals. They have a common area for meals with very nice small tables. It looked very nice."

"You're more than just a number here at Quail Run Retirement Community. You're not just a name on a spreadsheet that's going to give them a better look at their profits and stuff at the end of the month. The cooking here is fantastic. I cannot say enough about it. I had a couple that I thought were kind of iffy, but I think you're going to have that in your best restaurants with whoever is the cook that night if they've got a bad day or maybe your waitress is not right up to snuff that day. So, you're going to have that, but they care here. They eat the same food we eat. They eat it at the same time we eat it and therefore they know what it is. So far it's lived up to its reputation. They have several rooms. They have one that they call a library. They have a couch, tables, and chairs where you can sit around. It's very homey and very welcoming and you're encouraged to use it. They mean for you to make this your home and if you want to sit and talk with somebody, you can. If you want somebody in for a meal with you, you're welcome to bring them in. I would bring in different ones to have a meal here and I'm not ashamed of it. It's pleasant. The people are pleasant, too. I don't know how they do it every day with a smile, but they do. I have a one-bedroom apartment. So, I have the two rooms here, the kitchen, the living room type thing, and the bedroom. I'm very happy. We have a couple of girls that come in and clean my room on Thursday and they are good. If I have something extra, they do it with a smile. I do my laundry and the laundry room is clean. It's a comfortable room to sit in and do my laundry. They keep it neat. It's welcoming. It's home. The activities are just a little slow. I don't understand that yet. They don't have them during the summer. I guess they have a lot of people that come and go and do their own thing during the summer. We are close to a Bi-Mart that's just half a block to walk through so we could walk over there to buy stuff occasionally. The library is open all the time and the books are up to date. There's a good variety of them. The puzzles are here. The games are here if anybody wants to play. They just don't have the game day and the movie day. They don't have an activity that is scheduled and running. There's talk that they are going to do this. So I'll have to wait and see it."
