Avenue Care Center remodeled the first floor, and it was pretty good and clean. For the money they wanted, I don't think it's worth it. The staff who toured me was scared to get on the elevator and when we got on one, at first she didn't move. They had activities, like games and bingo. They had a lot of patients in wheelchairs there. The staff could have used a little more help for the number of patients they had. They needed to revise some of their plans for evacuating people out of buildings in case of emergency. They had three or four patients in a room in some of the rooms, and for the size of the facility, I think that's just too many people in a room.

The building has been around the 20 years I lived in the neighborhood. It was clean and bright but not newly remodeled. There was no foul odor as often found in these places. I asked about whether physical therapy was available on site and they said yes. While I have seen the place change names and managers several times I thought this group of people seemed to have it all together.
