"I went to Sunrise of Naperville and they seemed really, really nice. It was very comfortable looking, and the people looked happy. It was lunchtime when I went, so people came down to go to lunch. The only problem with them was it was more expensive than the others for a smaller room, but they looked nice. They didn't have any rooms available, so that's one reason I didn't go there. They told me they had the same kind of things everyone else did: arts and crafts and exercises. But I didn't see that at all. The staff told me that their other location had a lot more memory care, so they must use one location more for assisted living, and one more for memory care. The staff was nice and I liked the building itself; it was nice."

"Franciscan Village was very nice. It was clean and organized. They have two buildings, but they separate them into three. I saw all of them, but we took my mom for a tour only in building three. It had a very pretty chapel. It was peaceful. They were renovating the room that was available at that time, but it looked very nice. They had a salon. We saw the dining room and looked at the menu. I only met the receptionist there and I think it was Christine that showed us around. She was very helpful and very nice."

"We like it. The place was new, nice, and clean. They offered lots of things. It's out on a major street, but that's OK. They don't have much grounds though. The rooms were nice."

"My wife has been a resident of Sunrise Naperville North for the past 6 months and we think the assisted living facility is great. My wife had been in a long term care facility for 5 months trying to recover from the 2018 flu but was having difficulties. Once she became a resident of Sunrise her condition improved dramatically and she is now fully recovered. We toured some other assisted living facilities and found that Sunrise was the most comfortable and was more like living in your home. One review said it was dated, but we think it has been configured to be comfortable and inviting and what an older person would like. The room configurations and bathrooms are excellent for a person with mobility limitations. The activities and social interactions are excellent. I am thankful every day that my wife became a resident of Sunrise Naperville North as she recovered completely to where she was several years ago."

"I moved my mom back home from Florida and was amazed with StoryPoint Memorycare. What a difference from where she was at in Florida. She has a corner room that I just love. She has made friends and is happy. StoryPoint does activities and I know they are trying to do even more and they go on trips. Yes, they take road trips. Bless their hearts. Can't please everyone but they sure do try, no place is perfect. I'm so glad to have my mom back home. "

"I like StoryPoint Naperville, but they did not provide the trial service. They will refurnish or remodel so it will look nice, clean, and have plenty of space for each room. I like that too. They have a bigger garden, and the open spaces were bigger for the people. Besides, they don't need to stay in the room all the time. They have lunch in a bigger restaurant. Because they're remodeling, everything is new. They have a lot of activities. They even have a piano there. When we were there, the staff told me that every morning they have some exercise classes, painting, and one of the residents will teach people piano, and those kinds of thing. They have a movie theater, and they play movies. They have all kinds of things. They also play bridge. One thing: when we were passing the restaurant, it smelled so good."

"A wonderful concept of providing care. Instead of being an institutional environment, it is a comfortable single-family home that has been designed for this purpose. My grandmother loved the fact that she lived in a single family home, with three other residents, while getting all the help that she needed. I would recommend Golden Age to anyone who is looking for a place that offers assisted living. Like they claim...at Golden Age you don't live in a home, you live at home."

"First off, you have to know that my brother, who is a current resident of Harbor Chase Naperville, could have played one of the starring roles in the movie "Grumpy Old Men". He came to Harbor Chase just over a week ago. But here his complaints have been very minor and once the quarantine is lifted, I'll bet his disposition will improve to a great degree. He raves about the food and would like the opportunity to explore the facilities. I have had occasion to make contact with the staff frequently due to trying to get assistance from the VA and,on the rare instance when I had to leave a message, my call was promptly returned. If I ever have the need to make use of such a facility for myself, I hope Harbor Chase has room for me."

"I toured Sunrise of Willowbrook. It's a very nice and clean facility. It gives you a more homely feeling. The appearance and location was very nice. The staff appeared to be friendly. The person that was supposed to give the tour did not do it, and they had the social director do it. She wasn't as knowledgeable. I didn't get the information that I would like to get that the director would have known, whereas the activities director doesn't know the nuances about the place like a director would. The menu seemed like a variety. They didn't have a lot of amenities. Their space was limited, and I would imagine there's only so much that they could do onsite."

"My father moved into Brighton Gardens of Wheaton. The place is very modern. His apartment is a studio, and it is very clean and well thought out. Considering the difficulties people of his age may have, small things like the bathroom light is on an automatic switch. It's not very heavy to open the door. Stuff like that makes a huge difference for him. Compared to other places, I think the staff exceeds my expectations, given the value of the place. The dining room is very inviting and very clean. The food itself is not gourmet, but it's not cafeteria food. It's good value and it's one of the factors when I selected that for my father. I visited some other places that had excellent food, but I would be paying an extra $2000 a month. While I was there one time, I noticed that there was a community crossword where someone got a projector out and they collaborated on doing a crossword together. So, it was kind of a mental stimulation. There was a luau on time, and my dad went to movie nights at least once or twice a week."

"My brother moved in. Their community is great. Everyone is friendly, from the staff to the residents. The nurses, CNAs, and everyone are just fantastic. He's got a nice room. It's a nice size for him, but I wish it were a little bit bigger (I guess that's just me). I would prefer that it were a little bit bigger and that it had more of a kitchen-type layout. It has a cabinet area and a countertop, and he can put his microwave there, but I wish there was a sink where he can wash some little dishes if he has some. Overall, it's still a nice room. He has been participating in some of their activities. I know he plays bingo, and then they've had movie nights (he goes to that). They have little events sometimes, and they have one coming up soon at the end of this month on the 26th. They are going to have an event where families can come and stuff like that, which is good. I don't think he likes the food. He's picky. He wants to eat what he wants to eat. He is diabetic too, so he doesn't care for the food. He has no choice, though, but I think it's delicious. Not that I've eaten any, but I can tell when the cook/the chef puts it out, it looks good and smells good to me. I know that there are other elderly people there who have to be cared for and can't control themselves. They have to go to the bathroom and stuff like that, and so it feels like every time I'm walking to go down to my brother's hall to go to his room, it reeks of urine. You can just smell it, and I don't know if that's because they haven't cleaned, or maybe when I come, there's nobody there to clean it. During the week, I couldn't smell it, but definitely when I go on Saturday mornings or Sunday, I can smell it as soon as I come in the door."

"I could have gone to Marian Village. The only drawback is you have to buy into it. You have to put down $130,000 or something to move in, but that was a very nice facility. The rooms were accommodating and very nice. They had bay windows in the front rooms. I told them I could move in there because it was so nice. The atmosphere was good."

"American House Cedarlake was very good. My mother-in-law was there for five days and then she had to go into the hospital. It was very clean and very nice. They had a lot of activities. The rooms were beautiful like an apartment. They have assisted and independent living. They don't have memory care, so that's why when she came out of the hospital, she didn't go back there. She went to another place. The staff were very nice. They did their job very well. The food was pretty good. My mother-in-law did not do any of the activities, but they had bingo and different things like that. Their activities looked fun. "

"My mother has moved into Victorian Village. It's very clean and well organized. The food is good. The staff is very good. They have a little dining hall and a little get-together place out in front of the building. They have physical therapy, they do Bingo and Wii bowling, and they have a bus that will take them shopping. They had a Christmas party last week, and they had kids come in from different high schools and did musicals."

"My parents moved to Monarch Landing in 2014. And, it was a blessed foresight as we lost my dad in 2015. I don’t have to worry about my mom living alone. She has so many amenities, neighbors and staff to answer to her every need ... from a salon to restaurant style eating facilities right onsite. When she needed physical therapy, they were onsite either to come directly to her or for her to go downstairs to a workout room. Monarch Landing is the answer to the question of where would you want your parents to live out their golden years."

"My mother stayed at Alden Gardens for 10 days for respite care. The place was great, but her room wasn't cleaned the whole time she was there, so it ended up pretty dirty, but the staff was wonderful, the girls in the dining area were helpful. She has nothing negative to say, except she never wanted to go back again. I thought the food was great. She was in an efficiency apartment and had enough room for her. It had a little kitchenette area and an alcove for the bed. It's a little pricey."

"Clean, well appointed, good food, ample and efficient space with a variety of offerings and settings to meet a host of needs. Staff is hospitable, empathetic, knowledgeable and available. Mom was not keen in going in the midst of a 30 day trial she was won over. Pre-conceptions: POOF! Socialization (if desired) is both available and outstanding. Getting or remaining connected is vital to mental and physical health. Community is evident. And you can always "dial it back" if you need space for yourself. Checks all the boxes for both resident(s) and family members on the outside. Thank you "

"We went to Sunnymere, and the person who gave us the tour was very helpful. The place itself was to my liking. It's gloomy inside, but the couple of residents I spoke to seemed very happy there. I saw their activity room, where they were getting ready for a Valentine's Day-themed party for the residents. I saw a calendar with the activities throughout the day and for the month. We saw a couple of rooms, and they had a shared washroom, which I wasn't too pleased with."
