Spring Lake Rehabilitation Center is very nice. We chose it for my sister because they were willing to accept the ChampVA payment. I rate the weekly staff a 5 rating. The weekend staff is 4. The main staff is very caring. The food has been fine. She's involved only with therapy. She's not involved with anything else, but they have a salon and an activities director. They have various singers and so forth that come in and give them programs. Like any other, they seem to have good programs. The courtyards are beautiful. They have four or five different ones. It's a beautiful place. They have a library, too.

My mom was transferred here from another facility and she thrived here. She has Parkinson's, and the therapy associates and staff understood her medical condition and worked with her to get her stronger. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs Therapy. Also, anytime you have a question or concern, they were really helpful.

all but two of the na's did not like answering the lights. It took and hour at least, then when they came they would turn off the call light and say they could not do what you asked (they could) and or argue with you that you didn;t need what you asked for.! crazy right? one time the na went out and got someone from the kitchen to come into the room and do the work (empty a bag) because she didn't want to do it. so non certified, not patient care giver coming in to do care? Don't think so. Reported it all the way to the admin and the DON with no reply. the therapy staff was stellar. the lpn only saw for a med usually 2 hrs after coming on the shift then no other rounding. really have to advocate for yourself. Almost abusive by na's who are hard to understand and delay answering light. If you are having chest pain, or bleeding you are out of luck. Food was likened to slop on styrofoam.

I visited this facility

I am an 84 year old functioning business owner. I suffered a fall due to a faulty Medline walker. After 4 days in the hospital I was transferred to Spring Lake for rehabilitation therapy so I could move and get back home. While I was there this was my experience: The daytime staff was very kind, however, the nighttime staff were horrible. I was very sore due to my fall and woke up in the middle of the night freezing and I couldn't find my call button or my bed adjustment button because I could only lay there and look up. I called as loud as I could for a nurse. Three hours later a nurse came to my room and asked me what I wanted. She stood out of my eyesight at the head of my bed where I couldn't turn my head to see. As I was trying to tell her that I couldn't find the bed adjustment button or the call button she just told me to stop yelling, but I wasn't yelling. Finally, she moved the bed for me without handing me the device or helping me with the covers. She was very rude to me and when she left I never seen her again. Additionally, I really believe the phlebotomist needs more training on drawing blood from geriatric patients. This phlebotomist didn't care where I told her I had good veins in and just dug around in my skin looking for veins under bruises. Finally, the food was difficult to eat. They didn't cook the vegetable long enough so I couldn't chew them, none of the fruit was ripe so I couldn't chew them, and the give you a teaspoon to eat long noodles. While the daytime staff were very nice, I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone who will be 100% dependent in their care without a daily advocate.

My mother is currently a resident of SpringLake Rehab, and I must say that, I was impressed with the quality of service and the facility upon first encounter of touring the facility. Since that tour my mother has been accepted into their Short Term Rehab Program and has made tremendous strides towards her recovery. This is a testament to the dedication of the Staff at SpringLake to take care of its patients. I would highly recommend this Facility to anyone who is looking for professionalism, cleanness, and empathy for there loved one.

My mother-in-law is in Spring Lake Rehabilitation Center and so far it's been excellent. They have very nice rooms, it's a very, very comfortable home that's very nicely kept with a good amount of furniture. The staff members have been very caring and they're very supportive. They have a bistro for people that want to get individualized meals. They have outside sitting facilities and gardens, which was pretty nice. They have an ice cream bar where people can get ice cream, they have activities like bingo and people coming in. I didn't try the food, but I have seen it and my mother-in-law enjoys it very much. I would recommend that people go there, it's an excellent facility.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My wife and I moved to Central Fla. in 2003. Not long after arriving I had a popliteal knee aneurysm that required leg by-pass surgery. The surgery was successful. I choose to rehab at Spring Lake Rehabilitation. A few years later I needed knee replacement surgery. I choose again to rehab at Spring Lake Rehabilitation. Three year ago I had blood clots in the toes of my right foot. The doctors made a gallant effort to dissolve the clots but gangrene set-in which required amputation of 4 toes. With the help of a Spring Lake nurse who prayed with me to overcome my anxieties both before and after the amputation surgery, I again rehabbed successfully at Spring Lake. In February of 2021 I tripped and “Fell Up” our home entrance steps and cracked a shoulder bone. (No I was stark sober!) Surgery was not required but rehab was so it was back to Spring Lake Rehab. Just a month and a half later I learned I had lung cancer. The top lobe of my left lung was removed. My previous successful experiences took me back to Spring Lake. Through each of my stays at Spring Lake I was impressed with the standards of excellence by the staff of physical and occupational therapists and the nurses. Oh it makes a difference that the rooms are all private. J F Krzysiak Note – this post should not be used to make medical judgments.

My grandma was here for two weeks. She was first put into their Covid ward and everything was fine. We got daily updates and the nurse who took care of her was very kind. But when she was moved to general population, everything went down hill. She started getting sicker, we could almost NEVER get ahold of a nurse and was almost NEVER called for updates. She eventually got dehydrated was told she was on IV for fluids, but the day she was supposed to come home, we were told she had C-diff and was so dehydrated, her fingers and toes were blue. They sent her to local hospital where she passed a few days later. Do NOT send your family here! They will be treated poorly, have NO updates and also, they wash ALL the patients clothes together! When we went to retrieve Grandma's belongings, they sent them up with her clothes missing, and someone else's feces stained clothes and a notepad from maintenance! And they had lost her glasses, too! This facility should be investigated!

Room #105 was the room that my dad spent some horrible days in while instead of getting rehab and getting better they neglected him. My dad was moved to Spring Lake Rehab on 2/7/21 after being hospitalized since 1/12/21 with Covid and complications from Covid. The first few days there when I talked with my dad he was anxious to get better and ready to work hard to get home. On 2/13 I talked to my dad 3 times and each time he was more and more lethargic and not making any sense. My dad was as sharp as a tack prior to this day. I talked with my sister and she called my dad too and thought the same thing. I called to talk with the nurse's station on his floor and was brushed off saying my dad was fine and just tired. Same thing happened on Sunday morning with the irrational conversation and again called the nurses station literally begging them to check my dad and telling them that something was wrong, my sister also made numerous calls to the nurses station asking the same thing. Again the incompetent nurse brushed us off. By the next day my dad was not answering his phone and again told he was sleeping and tired. We continued to ask that he be checked by a doctor. Later that day my sister called in the middle of the Spring Hill Staff calling 911 to transfer my dad to Winter Haven Hospital. He was admitted with a severe UTI infection, pneumonia and low blood pressure. My dad was neglected by the incompetent staff at Spring Lake. I beg you not to send your loved one there. My dad passed away on 2/25/21.

You will not get updates on your loved ones change in condition. You will have to call the facility to get medication and have the nurses take it to your loved one. You will be told your loved one is refusing therapy and food when in fact your loved one is actively dying and is unable to participate. You will be told they cannot provide services anymore because your insurance won't pay if your loved one continues to be noncompliant. You will wonder if your loved one is suffering because there is NO communication. They will have to lay in their bed until the Hospice angels come to remove them from their bed and can get medication to help them die with dignity. I struggle with knowing my mother had several Days all alone while she was dying at Spring Lake. She died the day after she left there. Hospice stated they had a difficult time getting her pain under control. Spring Lake is all about profits. Don't let the beautiful surroundings fool you.

Our family was at a loss of what to do for our mom because she could no longer take care of herself. We met with the staff at Spring Lake and they are the best. They helped us with everything and assured us mom would be taken care of. The facility is very clean, her room is semi-private and very nice. They cook her meals to satisfaction. She enjoys playing bingo and also ice cream parlor day. During Covid-19 they kept her connected with us through Facetime. We as a family are so pleased and happy that we chose this facility for her long term care.

Do not send your loved ones here! My grandma spent a few weeks here and it was horrible. The staff are insensitive to their patients needs. My grandma was a very abled body person as of March of this year. However, due to kidney failure that totally changed. She had been in and out of the hospital for months. She couldn't walk anymore by herself. The staff would let her sit in her feces for hours till she was red and sore. The night before she died my Aunt and grandma begged your nurses to call 911 they refused for hours! You know what is super sad. You choose to hire these people! Your staff choose to be in this profession and yet they are not caring to the patients at all. We all are thousand of miles away. We all took time off to come down to help her and she didn't want to keep the burden on her family. This is why we choose rehab. We relyed on YOU, and you failed us! Multiple family members struggled for days to even reach my grandma! Sometimes the phone was just out of reach. You would think a nurse to someone who can't move on their own anymore would know to keep that close by! You are lucky you get to keep your doors open. If I had it my way you would be out of business! You choose this profession....ACT LIKE IT!!

Worst place ever. I was on the phone with my mom for 4 hours and we were both begging staff to call 911 but they refused. Finally at 11:30pm, I said “you call 911 or I will”. That was Tuesday night. She passed away this morning. The aides are rude, insensitive and take their sweet time. They gave my mom a hard time with needing to be changed frequently due to frequent diarrhea. My moms skin was so red, sore, irritated and painful but no one cared. Heartless!!!

After 7 weeks of PT, my husband list all strength in his legs. They laid him in bed all day! They didn’t feed him properly. They caused him mental anguish. They put his air intake at risk by not using his cpap their staff is lazy. The staff does not communicate with the family.

Our Mom was a resident of Spring Lake for approximately 15 months, having initially been sent there for rehab. Speaking for our entire family, we could not have been more pleased with the facility, the care, the compassion, understanding, friendliness and professionalism. Each staff member, regardless of position, was polite, courteous and friendly, addressing you by name and generally inquired how our Mom was doing. Keeping the family up to date on a relative's situation is paramount and the people at Spring Lake were absolutely superb in accomplishing this. There are many and varied daily activities for the residents, from a movie theater to live entertainment and festivities and everything in between. The room our Mom was in was semi-private, which was never an issue, and extremely clearn. In a difficult business, under difficult situations, they were saints. I highly recommend Spring Lake Rehabilitation.

Spring Lake is beautiful and they take very good care of my mother, so I don’t have any problems whatsoever. They bathe her, feed her, and do everything for her. The staff is great, and majority of them know our names. She’s in a shared room, but in the rehab side, you have your own private room, with a big bathroom, and a shower where you can roll your wheelchair in. On my mom’s side, they have a bathroom which has a toilet and a sink, and they have a shower room where the nurses or CNAs come and roll her up for actual showers. They have a monthly calendar, like 1 or 2 days a week they have ice cream, and if the residents cannot go down to get ice cream, they bring ice cream to them. They have a bistro that serves soup, salads, and sandwiches, you can eat there if you don’t want to eat in the formal dining room, or the nurse can bring it to the room for you. They have Karaoke, christian singing, they played Bingo, they celebrate the resident’s birthday monthly, and they have “pretty nails” for the ladies. They have a beautician/barber there, and of course you pay for that, but the first haircut is free. It’s very clean, it doesn’t smell, and it’s almost immaculate. The staff is very attentive, administration is great, and the director, Dan, is very good with names.

My problems were many, couldn't walk, and needed help going to the pot. My care was nearly 24/7 for a couple of weeks. My rehab was twice daily working on my leg strength, and working on my other body parts to function properly. I can say, The nurse's and the Therapist's worked together as team. At no time was I every neglected. needless to say, I was no angel to deal with. Thank you to the staff, I pray that Spring Lake never changes, they are the finest facility in Winter Haven,

This place is the place to be. My mom was there for Rehab several different times. Outstanding therapist. The administrator is very involved and I’ve been to others locally and never once saw anyone. I would highly recommend this place for anyone needing Rehab. Staff is sweet and caring. There is definitely no place like home but this is second to none.

I've had a great experience with this facility from being an out patient strengthening my knee's muscles prior to having them both replaced to being an inpatient after the knees were replaced. This facility is exceptionally clean and modern with all up to date equipment in their physical and occupational therapy gym's. The physical and occupational therapists are some of most professional individuals you can have providing you the therapy you need. The RN's and CNA's were skilled and professional at all times. Would I use this facility again if necessary you bet I would without hesitation.

My mother was here for the past few months and recently discharged home. Everyone from the therapists to the nursing staff treated her like she was their mother. The amenities like private rooms and bistro were very helpful to us when we visited. There were many comfortable places to gather like the library and living room when my mom was getting bathed or changed. I would highly recommend this facility.

My grandmother was a patient there and it is an outstanding facility. The cleanliness of this facility is also out of this world. The amenities they offer are out of this world. They have a food area that was great, friendly, and courteous as well. They have the cutest ice cream.parlor, which my grandmother loved and wished it was open more, but the ice cream is amazing. I felt very comfortable with her being in this facility compared to others that I visited. If she ever needs to have another rehab, I will definitely recommend spring lake rehab.
