I'm staying at The Cove at Tavares Village. I am in an independent living villa. The property has 62 independent living villas, then there's the big building that has assisted living and memory care and the dining facility. We're about six minutes from downtown Tavares out in the country on an elevated piece of property. It's hilly, but it's beautiful. As you come in the front entrance, there's a big sign bragging about how we have been deficiency free for three years from inspection. The director holds two hats. She is the administrator of the whole outfit, and she's also the head nurse. She does a marvelous job. The care that my wife got here was amazing. Unbelievably amazing. It's not gated or anything like that. There are like four streets within the community. It's spread out quite nicely. We have a very nicely appointed clubhouse. Eighty feet from my door is the full workout room. There's also a rehab outfit in that building for helping people who need rehab rehabilitation. The food is excellent. The food services guy does miracles. I've never heard anybody ever complain about the food. If I wanted $7 a meal, they'll deliver it, and you can't beat that. The staff is friendly and very professional, above and beyond. I truly don't know how they do it. I took care of my wife, and it was 2014 when she was diagnosed and that's when we moved here. I was able to keep her safe at the villa till August of 2019, and then my skill set just wasn't up to it anymore, and that's when she went into care. The care she got was marvelous. I don't particularly participate in activities, but Amy, the director of activities, has got something going always. Plus, they have transportation for those who don't drive any longer. They take you to doctor's appointments, they go to Publix once a week and to Winn-Dixie once a week, and they take you banking if you need to go banking. They all have to be scheduled naturally.

I toured The Cove at Tavares Village. They do have duplexes and it's a little bit old. I'm not impressed with its overall cleanliness. Instead of the carport, they had garages attached to their duplexes, which was a plus. They had an exercise room. They have a library, a nice lobby area for people to gather, and a movie room. I don't think the staff went over and above in anything.

Think twice about putting your loved one here! The staff is horrible! Mom was put in memory care before she needs it. My brother has POA, (and boy, the staff lets you know it!). He doesnt have the time for her, so this is his next best thing. She sits in a recliner all drugged up. All the brown recliners are pushed up against each other sideways ,the room is kept VERY dark!. From 9am all day. Sits there! Gets up only to eat. Theres NO memory care activities! Theres about 18 patients there ALL drugged up! Its so horrible. This should be against the law! Pls dont put your relatives here!

I toured the Cove at Tavares Village. They were very good. What I noticed was the staff greeted people and knew them by name and talked to them. It was clean and comfortable, and people were engaged in doing things. It was open and airy, and much more available to residents to do things and get around. The location was good. The layout was more open. Cleanliness and upkeep seemed good.

The Cove at Tavares Village is an older place. They have memory care. Their residents all seemed very happy. They were playing cards and bingo with oversize cards. A lot is done for the memory care people. They have a small garden area. There's a lot of staff, and they all seem very concerned about their patients. The rooms are good sized. They're not small. It's a lockdown facility. The assisted living is in the front of the building, and the memory care is locked down in the back. It's a little tight back there for the number of people that they have. It's on the small side for this many people that they have in memory care. The rooms were hotel type. You could fit a queen-size bed, a table, and a little recliner if you want to. However, we were set on going for this morning and I had everything I thought in place, and when we came down to the administration, they were giving me a very difficult time on whether they would take my mother-in-law or they wouldn't. It just seemed like they just wanted to keep arguing with me. So finally, I couldn't take it anymore, and we decided to go take another look at the other facility, and they were much more workable. The staff were a little rough around the edges just from what I experienced this morning, it's the administration. The administration is a little rough.

We toured The Cove at Tavares Village. It's considerably smaller for the area to house people. It's older, and it's not as high-end as the other facilities. They have an assortment of rooms. For people that need more care, they give them rooms that are closer to the nurse's station like in a circle. For people that can be on their own a little in memory care, they have a hallway for more privacy. The rooms are like hotel rooms. The staff was super friendly and very polite. I met a lot of them, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. There weren't a lot of amenities for the memory care. It appeared to be very limited. It's so lockdown there, you can't even think about getting out.

I have moved into The Cove at Tavares Village. I've only been here a day, and I think it'll be fine. I am now in a 1- bedroom-1-bath with a living room, a kitchen, a dining room area, a bathroom, and washer and dryer. I met the gentleman that lives across the street, and that's the only person I've met so far other than the marketing director. It's a pretty place. It's very quiet, which is kind of what I wanted. I'm having a problem with the dryer. It's not being taken care of properly, and I'm not sure how it's going to dry my sheets that I'd like to sleep on. It's kind of frustrating because I have to call somebody at the front desk or something to put me on a list for the maintenance man to come and tell me how to operate this. I'm a little frustrated, but not enough to walk out the door and say, I don't want to live here. We have a pool, and they have activities. I haven't figured out that much yet. We're right next to the clubhouse, and that's where they do a lot of their crafts. The community is kept up extremely well. They mow the grass. There's lots of trees, and it's quiet. They try to keep some semblance of bushes or plants outside our units, and I think that's because we're renting. I don't have a problem with the whole outfit. I just have a problem with my dryer right now. The marketing director was right on the ball. She knew a lot. She was very organized. She's very knowledgeable about the area, and she goes above and beyond in whatever she's doing to help us get in. She is extremely informative and extremely intelligent about the place. She loves the place. She loves the people here, and she loves the staff. She is wonderful. I have known about this place for a long time. It has not deteriorated. It seems to be like it was when I was looking years ago, like 5 to 9 years ago when my husband died. I'm staying here because they have assisted living on the campus. If I have to go somewhere, I'll go there instead of some nursing home.

I am living in The Cove at Tavares Village. There are a lot of things here that are optional, like if you want to swim, or go to the gym. They have a library and I'm happy with it. I am in a brand new unit, I have my own garage, and it's beautiful inside. They have a cafeteria. They have an activity at least once a month, you can take your own transportation, or board a bus, and they take you to restaurants, to doctors' visits, and we have a visiting nurse coming in.

The staff I have witnessed have all been attentive , interactive and caring. Clean with a lovely Hair salon and cute rooms. My Grandmaw lives on the Alzheimer’s unit. The atmosphere is always calm and relaxing. But today they were having a New Year’s Eve party and had music and dancing from the 50s. It was so lively and uplifting and fun for them and us. I am a nurse as well and have worked in nursing homes before and I recognize something special with this one for sure❤️

Villas of the Cove was very favorable. It provided all our needs. They had new living spaces that were being built. They were a little bit smaller than the existing ones that we also visited, but very spacious. All the appliances were state-of-the-art. The sales director was very accommodating and very knowledgeable of their facilities and what they had to offer. The activities were located in different locations. They had a gym, a community room, and a covered pool. The amenities and facilities were very nice.

We went to The Cove. We did not go with it because it was just a single room with a bathroom. They had entertainment and a nice dining area. It was a great place. I liked the director there better than any place I had ever been.

The Cove was very nice, but they didn’t have an opening, so they had a waiting list. The independent living apartments were a little larger and more like patio homes. They have a garage but didn’t have many of the same activities as the other places. The staff was fine, friendly, and accommodating.

The Cove was excellent, and the people are extremely friendly. It is small, and it does not have a lot of fancy key guard that you are paying for, that you would never use. The only drawback is flattening outside of town if you don’t drive or you don’t like to drive. The staff assisted me promptly. They were not humongous, but they are friendly and more helpful people. They are like small condominiums. We go shopping and to doctor’s appointments. The grounds were all landscaped and tidy. They have meals available if you want.

The one my mother is in is The Cove, which is an excellent facility. My wife spoke to someone up there, and the staff has been excellent with us. My mother has dementia to a certain degree, they take really good care of her, and they keep us informed if anything is out of the ordinary. She didn't like it at first when she got there -- she wouldn't like any place we sent her or put her -- but now she likes it, she is comfortable there, she has her own room, and it's just a good place. They have outside living too on the property, they can bring their cars, and it is independent living. They can come and go if they want to. They have a bus service that takes them out shopping. They just had two shows there honoring Elvis Presley during his 80th birthday. They have church services for them, and they have games for them to do.

I was really impressed with The Cove at Tavares Village when I went there. The place was clean and pleasant, and the rooms were nice. The people and even the wait staff were nice. When you went in, you felt welcome, and when you left, you felt like you've had a welcome experience. I would rather have my father there, but he doesn't qualify.

Overall, The Cove at Tavares Village was good. All the staff made themselves available, and they answered any questions I had. They were extremely friendly too. The community offers independent living as well as assisted living and memory care services. It's a good, gradual move from independent living into an environment that provides more care. The accommodation is not quite as good, compared to where my mom is right now. But they are more concerned with the services that are available.

The assisted living area of Waterman Cove was bright and cheerful. The rooms were very well lit. The cost was not very expensive but the care was very well. Some of the people I knew loved it there. There was always someone from the staff who helped them out. The dietitian did a very good job in providing nutritional meals. They had activities that kept the residents happy, a bus took them shopping or to the doctors a couple of times a week. There was also a beauty shop on site and other amenities were in there for them to enjoy. In the independent living area, it was like living in your own apartment. They had one bedroom apartment, which were clustered into four. They got one meal a day at no cost. The residents could also use the transportation for shopping and doctor's appointments. It was always well groomed.

I liked the facility very much and I would be happy to go there. What I liked best about this facility is that I could have a separate living area until I needed assisted living.

Our mother has been at Waterman Cove for well over a year in the safe harbor memory unit. We were very happy with the facility and the outstanding staff. They are very caring and dedicated. The facility is very clean and safe. Our mother has been very happy there. Unfortunately the facility was sold recently to a for-profit company. When our mother entered Waterman Cove, an application was submitted to the Veteran's Affairs for the assisted living benefits she is entitled to as the widow of a veteran. The VA has not responded in over a year. Without the VA benefit payment, she is in arrears and the new owners (of only about a month!) are throwing her out. The back payment from the VA would settle her bill and she would be able to pay for everything going forward. This is so unfortunate because it was such a great facility while it was a nonprofit. Money talks - a lack of it speaks volumes. For profit is just that - For Profit, not for people.

Waterman Cove was a facility I visited when I was looking for a place for my sister. I liked the lay-out and floor plan of the building. The rooms were shared, there were 2 beds. There was also a small garden area where the residents can go out to. I really felt at home, and I thought my sister would love it there. The staff were very cordial, professional and caring. I would recommend this facility to other people who wish to put their loved ones in a safe place.
