My dad is at CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living - Mount Dora now. It's bright in there. It wasn't dull and there were like activities going on. I'm not sure what are their activities but when we took the tour, they gave me what they do from morning until evening, and then they check on them every 2 hours at night. He wanders at night so he can go into the halls and walk outside in confinement, but it's not locked. You can still go outside at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. It felt more secure there and there's small freedom, I guess. When I went on the tour, everybody was friendly. I'm not sure about the food, but my mom has said that it was really good. She had Thanksgiving lunch there and she said the food was really good. My dad's room is nice and clean. The bathroom is nice and big. No obstacles to get around or anything like that. The dining was nice and open. The facility is nice, clean, bright, and open.

CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living was amazing. The only reason we didn't pick it was because it was super expensive. We just couldn't afford it. But it was an amazing place. If money was not an issue, my mom would be there. The facility was absolutely beautiful. It was built just for memory care. The floors looked like tile, but they were actually like cushioned carpet or low-pile carpet. So if somebody fell, it wouldn't be super hard, and there would be a lower chance of breaking bones. It looked like a fairly new facility. It felt like you were actually in this beautiful courtyard while you were inside. They had cooking stations where they did cooking demonstrations. They had an exercise room. When I went, everybody was doing chair yoga. They had a beautiful dining area that looked like a real restaurant. Everything was beautiful there. The staff members seemed to be interacting well with the residents. They're very caring. All the residents looked really happy. I didn't see anybody looking alone and sad.

I enjoyed the tour I had with CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living-Mount Dora very much, because the individual rooms were good and they were the most desirable in the area for memory care and Alzheimer's. The methods that they used and the tools that they used were very good. The lady who toured me around was excellent, extremely knowledgeable, and we've communicated since. The menu was very nice, too. There's not a lot of repetition. They had a library area, a conference room area where individuals could do a lot of different things, people that would come in to do a dog therapy, an exercise room, a hairdresser, and a beautiful courtyard where people could sit outside and relax if they chose to do that. They had an event calendar of all the different things that they provide. What I was really interested in is the fact that they have providers come in like mobile dentistry and podiatry. All of these things are important for maintaining the health of individuals in that situation.

CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living Mount Dora is 5 across the board. It's fabulous. It is the most gorgeous place that you would want to go to yourself honestly. It's state of the art. It's brand new. It is nothing short of fabulous. I would be going there with my mother-in-law, the problem is the price. They have a beautiful courtyard. They have like a mall set-up in the center. They have workout rooms with therapy, they have a full salon (manicure, pedicure, and haircuts), and they have an art workshop and fish tanks embedded in the walls. Everything is light, bright, and spotless. The rooms are gorgeous and nice in size. The staff is wonderful. Everything is done for memory care patients. They wear lime green, which is supposedly a color that helps them out, and everyone is dressed in that. They have a top-notch chef. You can have meals there with your family. You can have a private dining room reserved for your family to come and eat there if you'd like it. It's nothing short of fabulous. The staff who gave me the tour was great. Everyone in the place was wonderful; everyone I met was great. I have nothing bad to say except they would not work with me. When we went in, they had a year-end special going at $4200, well, I wasn't able to jump that day on that special. When I went back, the price was back up to the normal price of $5800. I tried to get them to work with me, but they would not. I would have done the $4200 but I couldn't do the $5800.

CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living is very nice, but they offered us a price at $4200 at the beginning of February, and all of a sudden, because we didn't take it on the spot, this price shot up to $5800, which is undoable. CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living is a beautiful facility. It's state of the art, and it's brand new. However, I'm not pleased that they didn't get back to me. I asked them if there was anything they could do to work with us, but I didn't hear back, and I'm not pleased about that. The facility looks beautiful. It's very clean, spotless, light, and bright. The residents seemed happy and alert. It's a very nice and beautiful facility. It's a lockdown facility, so residents can't get out. It's for their security. Residents were painting at the time I was there. They were also getting ready for dinner another time I was there. The staff seemed attentive. I think they do everything they can for them. It's kind of like a testing site, sort of. They try a lot of different things. If they work, great, and if not, they try something else. It's a beautiful place.

My mom is doing respite care at CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living. So far, they have been very helpful. They're friendly, they interact with the patients or the residents, and they're very helpful. What I notice about them is that no matter what position they are in the facility, it could be at the top of the rank or below, they all greet their residents and they all interact with the people who come in. When I take my mother in, nobody just passes me by. They're very friendly and they take good care of her. She is in a day program and respite care now. It's a memory care thing. The facility is very clean, it's attractive, and I love what I see. I don't see any litter on the floor, everything seems to be in order, and the rooms are very attractive. It's set up nicely for the residents. It's also very spacious. They have activities in the morning so when I take her to the day program, she goes there. I have the option of taking her there to have breakfast or she could have breakfast at home. I prefer to give her breakfast at home because she's a little slow. It takes too much to get her there so early in the morning so I give her breakfast. By the time she gets there, it's activity time. I can see them in a room and they are all doing different activities. They do music some days and all sorts of other different things. When special holidays come up, they also do things for holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving. They have activities to keep them occupied and they also have rest periods.

My mother is over at CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living Mount Dora. We chose it because of all the advantages that you'll have. The way their facility is designed is it's in a gigantic loop. She can never get lost down a hallway, since it is a memory issue that she has. The place is specifically designed for the care of the residents that they would never get lost. They placed a picture outside the door, so they can find their room. So far, I'm happy with everything that they're working towards for the care of their patients. The meals are excellent and prepared by a chef. The facilities are spotlessly clean. They created a little village for them to go shopping in, and they have a theater that they go to. I think it's fabulous. They provide their own financial assistance (as it is privately owned). Instead of like standard places where the level of care increases, the price increases. Here, they start out at one price and that's it; it never goes up, except for an annual two percent rate increase for cost of living. The level of care does not determine an increase in cost.

My mother seems to be doing really well at CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living-Mount Dora. She likes the food, and she likes the place. The staff is very, very good and very friendly. They have a lot of activities for them. It's good for her because it's a smaller place and there's a lot more one-on-one. Her room is really nice. There's plenty of room for her. The bathroom is European style, so it helps a whole lot with the showering. They have a cinema room and another room for different activities. They play ball, and they do memory stuff. The facility is copied after how they did it in Holland to try to help the elderly people with their memory. They have different places that look like places from way back. They have courtyards, a beauty salon, a physical therapy room with equipment in it, and a very nice diner. They have two different units that they have them in (Meadowbrook and Glenbrook), and there are smaller groups in each one. The dining rooms are very small size for them. There's a lot more one-on-one. It's more like a home feeling. They've been educated on how to properly take care of the people because of their memories. My mom has Alzheimer's, and it's just gotten worse. The food I had was very good. They have a very good dietitian and a very good chef. I love the layout. I liked the way everything was when I walked in, how the staff was, and the whole facility. It just literally filled the needs of what I knew that my mom needed.

I had an in-person tour of CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living - Mount Dora. The information that they gave me the time I was there, I learned so much stuff as far as what my mom is going through that I just had no idea about. They were very informative. One thing that I liked was the rooms were single rooms. So she wouldn't have to share the room with anybody. The way the staff members were interacting with their patients when I was out there, they were doing activities. Regardless of what the situation is, they made it easier for us financially to get in. They pretty much work on an honor system. They gave us the option as far as getting assistance, then being able to come in on the low end and still be able to get the same quality service. That's what I liked about it. One thing that I liked about it was that they didn't have a high turnover rate, so a lot of the people that work there had been there for a while, not just the nurses and the staff, but even the administration staff. My father was really, really happy with the facility when he went out there. I didn't find one bad thing about the place. I know it's no place that's perfect, but still, the way they had their setup and they were very thorough as far as talking to me and letting me know everything, and that's another thing that I liked about it.

My mother will be going to CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living - Mount Dora. They're very knowledgeable people. It seems like a very nice, clean, open facility. It looks like they have good security there, and they specialize in dementia. She's going for respite care. Meals are included. Everything is included. It seemed like they had a program laid out for the month for different activities, and it's on a calendar and you can see exactly what they will be doing, everything from just speaking to them to little crafts that they can do and so forth. It's very clean, well thought out, and well laid out. It had some special amenities that I didn't see in any other facility.
