My mother was at The Waters of Cape Coral. She was in assisted living. It's a beautiful location. It's relatively new and well-maintained. The man that did most of the maintenance there was a very hard worker. I appreciated all the work he was able to do. He was always making sure that Mom's TV was operable. Every time we went over there, he was working hard pressure washing and just doing a lot of upkeep that showed a lot of initiative. What I like the least was that sometimes, there was no one at the desk and as far as I could see, there was no security personnel unless they were sitting in an office with cameras going, which is possible. You could walk right in the front door and walk up to the counter. They had a check-in system. A lot of times we had to check in ourselves and get our sticker and put our tags on ourselves. And then there were times that there was personnel at the desk who would take care of that for you. But that was my least favorite part of the place.
I think the food was good. My mother never complained about the food; it was good. The people were friendly, and she liked everyone there. The only reason that she moved was to be closer to three of her kids in Illinois. Three kids lived in Illinois, and one lived down here, and she'd been down here for a long time, and she wanted to be a little closer to the three kids. The place was new. The flooring was perfect. Everything was clean. All the furnishings were nice. Upscale furnishings were beautiful. It had optional sitting outside, and it had a lot of stuff going for it. There were some COVID shutdowns while she was there, so the activity did slow down. They were very, very good at providing transportation for her to attend the church service of her choice there in town. Overall, the activity that they did manage to see that she got to was good. It was way above average.
