My parents are both in Arbor Rose. We choose it because there is no way that both my parents can be in an assisted living place. They are both 88 years old. My dad has Parkinson's and he is not even walking now. They have to use a lift to get him in and out of bed. My mom doesn't think she needs to be in this kind of place. But she does because she can hardly lift her shoulders, I think for taking care of him so long. So, now I think she is better because she is not doing the washing and helping him to bed because they are doing a lot of that for her. It is a place where he can have 24-hour care and is more affordable. The staff is great. They are very attentive. Everything is on a set schedule. As far as their meals, I think they are a little earlier than my mom wants to eat in a normal basis. I thought the food is good but my mom is picky and she said the food is not that great. But every evening they have soup. Then they have their main meal. They are very good with vegetables and they do serve fish every Friday. The owner who lives upstairs is awesome. I love her. It is closer to me. So I can go see them anytime. My mom and dad share a room, which is nicely decorated and she has their own bathroom. They also have a bathroom, which they use for all the patients with wheel in showers. It is a very comfortable place. The living room is very comfortable. They decorate it on thanksgiving and Christmas. It is a very homey and nice place. They have a person who comes there twice a month, she brings her portable keyboard and they have a sing-a-long type thing. The only activity I see them doing is watching TV.
