"My dad is in the memory care of Aqua Ridge of Montclair. We actually toured the facility before he moved in. The staff has been really friendly. They were really accommodating to answer all the questions that we had when we were there. Because it's a newer facility, they look nice, but it looks empty. Everything's clean and well-kept. It's just that because it's a newer facility, I don't see a lot of resident interaction. It's a very nice facility though and the grounds are nice. My impression when I first walked in, was that it kind of reminded me of a nice hotel. I have not tried the food there, and my dad is on a puree diet, but the things that I've seen smelled delicious. When we toured the facility, we were in the memory care, and they were playing a game with the residents where they have a ball and swimming pool noodles, and it looked like they were having so much fun. I know they also did something for the Super Bowl, and I know they're going to be doing something for Mardi Gras, so I see that there are constant activities going on. I know that for Valentine's Day they had asked for a picture to be sent to them and framed them. They've been doing a lot of good activities."

"My dad is living in Genesis Manor VI. It's a very clean and a beautiful house, and the people are very well-mannered. The dining area is great. It’s a little less expensive than where my dad used to stay."

"Allara Senior Living was wonderful for me and my sister because I don't live in California. They were very helpful. The people were excellent. They took very good care of her. It was a difficult situation because I was from out of town. They could not have been nicer. My sister complained about the food, and the cook even talked to me about helping out. They made me feel very welcome because she was very ill, and if I ever go to California, I'm going to definitely go back and say hi. It's assisted living but they accepted her because she needed more care. They have a movie room. They have games, and they have a social worker. The people were great. The room was very pleasant, and since it was a short stay, they provided a TV table and some other things. I also was there on St. Patrick's Day, and I was able to eat their meals because I was with my sister. I met a lot of people while I was there. "

"Sunlit Gardens Assisted Living was nice. The staff was amazing. The room was nice but didn't have a closet. It was a studio, so it was just a room and a hanging space, where you could only fit five things. The dining area looked nice. It was lunchtime and everyone was eating."

"Friendly and caring staff who ensure my mother is well cared for. The food is very good--balanced and varied. They have a real chef at the facility and hold incredibly brunches and bbqs. Holidays are made extra special. For my mom's birthday we were able to have the chef cater a meal for our family in the private dining room! My mom is given her medicine faithfully....CP even arranges for prescription delivery. They have a hair salon, so residents do not need to leave the facility to look their best. Ice cream socials, church services, visiting entertainment (like the luau and hula show). During COVID, they kept my mom safe and provided onsite vaccinations. My mom is happy at Claremont Place. That makes me give it five stars!"

"We toured Oakmont of San Antonio Heights. Fantastic. They were great every step of the way. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We talked about what I perceived my parents' needs were. She had some very good advice. She had just kind of gone through the same thing with her grandmother, and so she was very helpful on the advice. The facility was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were top of the line, very, very nice, and esthetically very pleasing. It's a newer facility, so the rooms look high end and luxurious. The amenities include doing the laundry, food, and activities set up for the people. They had a gorgeous and huge library. I was surprised at how big the library was there. There were lots of sitting areas and games. It was a very inviting atmosphere. They did send home some baked goods, so my wife enjoyed those very much. I would like to move there myself."

"My mother is a resident of Starlite Manor. Everything is fine there as far as I know, it's just a small place. The staff gets the residents up, they shower them, feed them, and they also have TV and arts and crafts available. They also take them out sometimes. The place is very clean and the art is very nice. It's really like living in a house. I like that it's in a residential area, and not in an industrial place or a hospital."

"I visited here for my dad. It was very good. The memory care person really knew her stuff, and she was the one who toured us. We saw that they had an outdoor area that they could be in safely. They also have a resident dog, which I thought was great. My sister and I were not happy with the dinner table, which was like a family dinner table, and all the residents were at the same table. "

"I'm in Claremont Manor, and I love it. We have over 200 people. It's very well organized. It's under The Front Porch, which has about seven communities in California. The staff members are really fine; they really choose the best. We are a college community, so we have a lot of students as well as graduates. The facility is lovely. We have a huge bunch of gardeners that keep everything trimmed beautifully. We have gardens of all kinds and tree lined streets. We have separate houses, as well as apartment blocks. It has swimming pools and a gym. They have just about anything you could think of; however, we don't like the food. We have complaints about the food. There are lots and lots of activities. There's a lot of bridge players. There's the pool, and they have aquatic exercises. We have lectures and all kinds of games. Every day is loaded with things. I have been here for three years now. I think it's over overpriced. They're very much into money. The prices are raised, so that's not a plus. The staff members are well-trained. They're beautiful people, and they're really good. The facility is excellent. All these places charge almost the same, so we're about the same as all the rest of them. This is no different than any of them. They're all expensive."
