The rooms at Nazareth House were not as nice as my friend's apartment, but they were acceptable. Some were better than others, but you pay more for the bigger rooms. They did have activities. They have outings, and they have the dining room. They would take you to the doctor, and they would drop you off, but unfortunately, they wouldn't escort you up to the doctor's office. They would take you to the doctor on the west side, and my friend wants to stay on the west side because her doctors are in that location. Nazareth House was the best one we had seen. The people were very good. They were very accommodating. The dining area was very nice. The location is very nice. They also have lots of outside areas and gardens.

My mother is at Nazareth House. They have great grounds. The outside is beautiful with flowers everywhere, and they have different activities, like playing cards. The staff is always nice and friendly. The food is nice. I haven’t eaten there, but my mother likes it. The dining area is good and has a little café. The overall look is like a dormitory. It is run by the Catholic church, so I think they kind of create more of a basic look, not necessarily designed to attract anyone.

Nazareth House was highly rated. I went there because my mom is Catholic, and it's a Catholic home, but they accept all different religions there. However, it turned out they only offered assisted living and convalescence care. They didn't provide for people with memory or dementia problems. It was a beautiful place with really nice staff, and I would love for my mother to have been able to go there. She would've been very happy there. They had couples living in the assisted living, and they told me that everybody ate in the dining room. Nobody cooked in their own places, so it truly was assisted living. It was for people who didn't cook anymore but who could get around on their own. I walked through the facility, and the doors were closed in the assisted living area. I saw the convalescent home, which seemed to be very clean and very nicely run. I also walked out in the garden and saw the chapel and the garden, which was quite lovely. It was a very nice place.

Nazareth House was recommended by our Church, and it is run by the Sisters of Nazareth. We are very happy. It’s a two-level facility that has about 130 rooms with 80 rooms for regular assisted living and an area for memory care that’s separate. There’s a lot of retired priests and nuns, and the whole facility is very Catholic. They have a lot of activities and offer three meals a day. They have various levels of assistance that could be provided for additional fees. The rates are very reasonable; it starts at $2,900 per room at the smallest size. It’s just been renovated, so the rooms are very nice. It’s very hard to get in; my mom got the last room, so we’re thrilled. I’m very happy with it. It has a very compassionate, very low-key atmosphere. The food is great because they accommodate what my mom likes.

Nazareth House staff was excellent. They were made up of nuns and nurses. It is a catholic community. They had activities daily and mass twice a day. They have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tea in the afternoon. My mother-in-law had her own room. There were four different levels of care: independent, assisted, assisted plus, and what they consider level 4 of care which is daily maintenance for bedridden. They did have hospice bed, so they work with the hospice community. Overall, the big plus for my mother-in-law was that it was Catholic. My mother-in-law was well taken care of. They had movie day every day, they have kids come in and perform, and they had a couple of plays over at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Once a week they went on a field trip and go to museum. The whole facility itself was in the process of renovation, so half the place was brand new and beautiful and the other half was nice and needed upgrade.

My grandma has Alzheimers and she doesn't know any of our names in her family anymore. She is the kindest old lady but she has no idea what is going on anymore. She would leave her room in the middle of the night and walk around but the nurses at the Nazareth house took great care of her. She used to be on the second floor and she would have to take the elevator to get down. This was bad because the nurses are all on the first floor so she wouldn't be checked on as much. They moved her down to the first floor to accommodate her better. She now gets checked on very frequently and every time she leaves her room or something happens to her, we hear about it immediately. The nurses are very helpful at the Nazareth House. The facilities always seem to be clean and in perfect condition. The food is also very good there; sometimes we eat with my grandma there and it is food that we would be eating at home.
