I visited this facility

I toured Sun and Sea Manor. The grounds were lovely. They had a lot of plants. It's not big; it was okay. However, I didn't like the room that we saw because it was like a double room. It had two beds, and they didn't use the bathroom in the room for showers. They had to go down the hall. The staff was excellent though. He was very helpful. The dining area was okay. It's very small. They had people there working with the residents. In terms of activities, they had a group there and they were playing some kind of game.

I toured Sun and Sea Manor. They were super nice. The place looked good and nice. The people were nice. The room was nice. The staff member who toured me around was great. They're very helpful, friendly, and down to earth. The tour was very quick because we realized it was much more care and more expensive than we needed.

We like having Dad at Sun & Sea Manor. I think it's a good home. They communicate with me properly about him. I have good relationships with the girls who work there. You can go for a private room or a room with two people. They're small, but you don't need much. Dad has a TV, his bed, and his dresser. It's all there and they have a large dining room and a large living room for you to walk. They have activities, too. I've tried their food and it's pretty good. They have a private chef. They do puzzles and they have physical activity, like working out. They bring animals in and live music. They do bingo, coloring stuff, crossword puzzles, games, and little dance parties. They have a small garden out front. They have someone come in to cut hair and do nails as well. It's a small home with 20-something people and they're on all levels of care. So if someone wants a smaller home with staff that communicates with you, I'd say this is a pretty good one. It's probably one of the cheaper places in this area.

I visited this facility

I liked the homeliness of the Sun and Sea Manor. It was small and everybody was very friendly, including the cook. You get a very warm feeling when you go in there. The person that gave me the tour was very nice, very informative, and was totally understanding. We walked around the entire facility, went to different rooms, and met the residents and caregivers, and again everybody was very nice. They just don't have an LVN on staff. Their menu seems to be very good. By talking to the chef, he seemed to care about the food that he prepared, and the menu seemed to be complete with the salad, soup, and entree, etc. The place was clean. It's like walking into your living room at home. The furniture was decent and comfortable. They feed them, they dress them, and they play games with them. They try to keep them in the main area so that they are involved. They were playing a game and there was actually a church service on the day I visited for the first time. I just popped in on a Sunday just to see what it was like, and they were having religious services, and then I went back to the actual tour the next day.

My parents moved into Sun and Sea Manor. So far, they seem very caring and conscientious about what they are doing. It's been less than a week, but my parents seem to be doing well there. I was there when they were getting served lunch, and they both had salads. I liked what they had. It looked and smelled good. Their room is nice. They have a nice area. I know they have activities. I don't know the staff members well enough. But so far from what I've seen, it's very positive. The director is very, very helpful. Based on what they've done for my parents, it seems like they keep them safe. The facility looks very clean and has no bad smells or anything.

Sun and Sea Manor was very secure, and their staff was very nice. The coordinator was very straightforward and honest. I liked the fact that it is less than 30 capacity. That way, you have more one-on-one care. Right now, there are only 14 people. The capacity is up to 29, so you have more personal care. Their planned activities are nice, and they keep them active. They take care of them 24 hours. It's an overall safe place for them to go. It's a hard decision, but they made it an easy transition. It's a really good place, but my father hasn't gone in yet. I saw the food and the quality. I could smell the food and know whether if it was very fresh or if it was too salty just by smelling it. I have a really good sensitive sense of smell. The food looked great, smelled well, and looked very healthy. I didn't see a lot of the area because it's during COVID time.

Sun and Sea Manor is a very nice place, and the people were great. It's organized and clean and had some really nice programs going on, like art, music, and movies. They had a game room where they do puzzles or play cards. They had TV for entertainment, but they also had activities, like contests, where they can socialize a little bit. They also had some nice outdoor areas that were very pleasant and really comfortable. The grounds were cared for and maintained very nicely also.

My brother-in-law and my husband chose Sun & Sea Manor for my mother-in-law because it was a little bit cheaper. The community is not large, but it’s clean and very nicely decorated. The rooms are nice and clean. The residents that I see are out in the main room and the TV is on or music is playing. They don’t interact much with each other, but they try to keep everybody together in the main room during the daytime.

Dad was at Sun & Sea for hospice care, but currently he is hospitalized. We liked it because it’s close to my dad’s house. They have a lot Spanish speaking staff -- which is what we were looking for -- and it’s small. It’s only like 30 patients. It’s very clean. We liked it, and we got a very warm feeling with everybody there. My dad is getting good care; he is there, and on top of that we are using Kaiser Hospice for the hospice care. It’s very cozy; it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles like a lot of the other places. It’s like a big house.

The staff of Sun and Sea Manor was amazing. I met with the director and the admissions director, and they were just amazing with their knowledge about Alzheimer's and dementia care. They also have a lovely tropical garden setting. They have visiting pets that come in weekly. It is really geared towards individual care; they are really trying to work individually with the residents to find out their likes and dislikes to make them feel more at home especially when it comes to meal planning and activities. So you get more of a personal feel for your parent. It was a smaller environment and felt more like a house.

Sun & Sea Manor is a small facility. When I went in there with my wife, it looked very comfortable and it looked clean. They do have areas for relaxation where the residents could sit down and talk. It is not a very big place, but it’s a very clean place. The people that are there seemed to be very, very friendly. The dining room looks very comfortable.

I am a past client of this provider

I had my Dad in a very expensive well known facility before I took him to Sun and Sea manor. The care at sun and sea was far superior to the other facility. The staff was very attentive and and loving. I always knew where my dad was when he was at sun and sea. It may not be the Ritz, but I would give them an Excellent otherwise.
