"Madonna Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care was beautiful, very clean, and very nice. It seemed like they had a very attentive staff. It just didn't seem the right fit for my mother-in-law. We just had cookies and hot chocolate and they had a very nice Christmas program. There were a couple of ladies doing crafts and that's all we saw. It seemed like the program they had were mostly for their memory care people there, so there wasn't an active interaction among the residents. The studio apartment was nice but small. The dining room looked very nice. They had an exercise room and a beauty shop. The activity center was very nice."

"I've toured Belmont Village Los Gatos' memory care and also looked at all of the levels. The tour was great, I thought it was a really beautiful facility. What I liked about the memory care is that they have a thing called Circle of Friends, where all the memory care unit residents get together and have activities every day, I like that. They were in a group at the time that we were there and they were just having a discussion, so they let us come in and say hi to everybody. And then we went to the actual memory care unit where they had activities individually with each person. The dining area was very nice. The staff who gave the tour was very, very good at her job. They had a patio, a garden with nice seating, and nice views out of their balconies. The place was just so, so clean."

"My relative has moved into Palm Villas of Campbell. We're impressed with the care that they're giving as he's getting more severe dementia, and he needs more care. Everything is excellent there. The facility is clean. They're attentive. They have many attendants. I'm just totally impressed with them. They cut his hair. It's near a hospital and a restaurant."

"My mother moved into Juliet Stephen RCH. It was a very good experience. Their response time when you push the button is so far it's always been under a minute. That's a huge thing right now. It's like a three-star hotel as far as their amenities. They have a parking lot, a patio, and a deck. I've tried a little bit of the food here and there, it's good. It's better than nourishment. They have pretty much whatever you want. I liked the staff and that every room there has its own sliding glass door and private entrance. However, the bathroom is getting really worn and needs to be upgraded."

"Sonnet Hill Senior Living was delightful. It was my choice for my friend who's 98 years old. I took her and we went through a second tour, and they got her a wheelchair because she was having a very, very difficult time walking. They were very kind and they greeted us very warmly. I also had been there a couple of days before and after our tour. It was a very, very warm place and very accommodating. I liked them very much. I didn't meet too many of the staff because it was late in the day, but I enjoyed them very much. The gal took me on the tour and we sat down in the foyer. We chatted for about an hour and it was closing time, but she gave me all the time in the world and I frankly made friends with these people. I felt right at home with them, and I knew that my friend would enjoy them. They had activity rooms where they painted and did crafts. They had a movie room where they showed movies. They had exercise rooms. It was perfect for what my friend's needs were. We had a meal there, and it was nice."

"The Watermark at San Jose has been open for several months now. We've met some of the staff but not enough to evaluate them. We've met the chef and the manager and it's all positive. It's very nice and it is a little less expensive than the other place. We had lunch and we were unimpressed. I wouldn't give the lunch any more than a three. The presentation was not very good. The plating was less than what you would expect in a nice restaurant."

"All About Seniors is an actual home setting, so it's very homey, comfortable, and has a relaxed feel. The staff also lives there so they take care of the place very well, it's very clean. The food is excellent, and because there's only six residents, the ratio is 3:6, so it's a good level of care. They still have the usual activities. People come in and play music, there are arts and crafts, and so on. It's a lot less expensive than other facilities, but provides much better care."

"We got a very nice tour of the Belmont Village Senior Living in San Jose. The place was very pricey, though it was lovely. It looked very happy, very nice, and clean. It looked very busy so I didn't get to tour every single place because it was mostly a sales meeting. It seemed really nice and I probably would have spent a little more time if I had the finances figured out at this point because it's pretty expensive. They said they weren't sure if she, at this point, would be able to qualify for assisted living and that they'd have to do an assessment. So, we're not even sure what the price point would be but even just assisted living is very expensive. It's a very nice facility though. They just showed us a room that I think is the same room that they show people. I didn't get to see any of the rooms that were being lived in. The gym was not much, it's not very great. It didn't have a treadmill or anything in that."

"I had a good visit with Village Green (Merrill Gardens of Gilroy). They gave a very thorough tour. It was a very nice facility. It was my preference because it was closer to me. I liked what I saw. The problem was the availability. They gave preference to people who were already there to move in to the memory care unit, so the wait list was quite long. That was my only concern, but the facility itself was fine. They were very great. They were very gracious. I just hoped they had more availability because they had a good facility, and I really enjoyed the folks. I had nothing negative to say about them. "

"Villa Serena of Morgan Hill is a very wonderful facility. We liked the price, the care, and the compassion. We also like the facility's cleanliness. I would recommend them, but they are extremely small. They only have a twelve person capacity. As for activities, they have everything, but my mom doesn't participate in them. "

"My mother fell and broke her left arm, so she’s in Montecito Manor now. It has very wide doors and very wide hallways, and she has a private bath in her own room; they’ll furnish it if you want. She has a really nice room. The staff is very caring, and they work with my brother and me excellently. They pay attention and do the things we want, and they’re very good with my mother who’s almost 92. They have game-playing and physical activities like throwing balls and balloons around. Twice a week, they have bus rides for sight-seeing and trips to the beach for those that are able. They bring in music a couple of times a month, and in the living room, they have light music. Every holiday, they put on a big Thanksgiving dinner, and the food is really good. They do have a nice dining area, but my mother takes meals in her room because she can’t walk anymore. There is a series of charges for what she needs. The size of the facility is really good for my mother. It’s about 55 patients there, so it’s not a real big place where you have a hundred people or too small. They do have a memory lockdown area for Alzheimer's patients. They have a physician and therapy provided, so there is occupational and physical therapy people that come in. I think they’re really excellent. "
