"My dad moved into Madonna Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's a small facility, but it is very nice. The people are very caring and attentive. It just got renovated, so it looks like a boutique hotel. I'm really very, very pleased with it. He has an apartment with a small refrigerator and a small microwave, and you have to bring in your own furniture. It is wheelchair accessible, so it's got a roll-in shower. Some of the rooms have fall detection technology. If the resident falls inside the living area and does not get up, it alerts the staff and they come. They have beautiful gardens where people can walk around. They have a small dining room and your family can join you to eat. I have eaten there and it's pretty good. If for some reason you don't like what's being served, you can get something else. There's always bingo, chair exercises, movie nights, and arts and crafts classes. They have a very small gym, but it's got an exercise bike and other machines. They have a small library and they have a big screen TV. They have a game room with board games and card games. They just had a luau last Saturday, and they try to get families involved in the activities. There's Grandparent's Day that's coming up."

"I've toured Belmont Village Los Gatos' memory care and also looked at all of the levels. The tour was great, I thought it was a really beautiful facility. What I liked about the memory care is that they have a thing called Circle of Friends, where all the memory care unit residents get together and have activities every day, I like that. They were in a group at the time that we were there and they were just having a discussion, so they let us come in and say hi to everybody. And then we went to the actual memory care unit where they had activities individually with each person. The dining area was very nice. The staff who gave the tour was very, very good at her job. They had a patio, a garden with nice seating, and nice views out of their balconies. The place was just so, so clean."

"My relative has moved into Palm Villas of Campbell. We're impressed with the care that they're giving as he's getting more severe dementia, and he needs more care. Everything is excellent there. The facility is clean. They're attentive. They have many attendants. I'm just totally impressed with them. They cut his hair. It's near a hospital and a restaurant."

"My mother moved into Juliet Stephen RCH. It was a very good experience. Their response time when you push the button is so far it's always been under a minute. That's a huge thing right now. It's like a three-star hotel as far as their amenities. They have a parking lot, a patio, and a deck. I've tried a little bit of the food here and there, it's good. It's better than nourishment. They have pretty much whatever you want. I liked the staff and that every room there has its own sliding glass door and private entrance. However, the bathroom is getting really worn and needs to be upgraded."

"My dad stayed at Sonnet Hill Senior Living. They assisted him with his medications. They coordinated with Kaiser to get him his own wheelchair and provided meals, they have activities there, but he didn't participate in those. They're doing his laundry and apartment cleaning. He got everything he needed, and he enjoyed the staff. They had a good variety of food."

"All About Seniors is an actual home setting, so it's very homey, comfortable, and has a relaxed feel. The staff also lives there so they take care of the place very well, it's very clean. The food is excellent, and because there's only six residents, the ratio is 3:6, so it's a good level of care. They still have the usual activities. People come in and play music, there are arts and crafts, and so on. It's a lot less expensive than other facilities, but provides much better care."

"Belmont Village San Jose was a beautiful place. I would rate it 100% all the way around, but it was very expensive. The staff was wonderful and the food was wonderful. They served salmon. The common spaces were nice. I just could not afford that place."

"My mom is on a waiting list at Merrill Gardens at Gilroy. The cleanliness was fine. The rooms were clean and spacious. They offered a lot more activities there than they did at the other place. They were doing activities when we were there. The staff who gave the tour was great. She was very friendly and helpful. She answered our questions. She pointed out different things. She showed us the kitchen area, the dining area, and the rec area."

"My mom is currently in the Primavera Gardens. The facility is very clean. The caretakers there are very caring. They take care of my mom 150%, and I just couldn't be happier. They have rooms that are shared with another resident. They also have individual rooms, depending on how much you want to pay. They serve three meals a day. Every night, they have something different to offer, like movies, bingo, dancing, and all kinds of other things to keep the residents occupied. They have a big seating area with a big screen. It has all the comforts of home. They've got a personal cook who was an actual cook at a restaurant, and he comes in part-time. The food is just great. If they want more, they are welcome to have a second helping. They keep a close eye on my mom because she's diabetic, so they give her a special diet. But as far as medications and stuff, they're very, very good with that. They do offer top-level service, but I think that it's too expensive."

"My mother is in Montecito Manor. It's bright and cheerful. They have nice furnishings and decorations for the season and holidays. They have pretty good food. The staff is very caring, considerate, and accommodating. The rooms are bright and cheerful. They have a wide variety of activities for the residents to participate in. I'm very happy with it. It's very well kept and not depressing."
