My friend is in Concord Royale. She's 94, so it's not an apartment situation. She has a room and a private bathroom. It's just kind of a smaller, kind of more homey facility. There are a lot of activities, which she doesn't participate in, and meals and assistance getting dressed, et cetera, but it's just a very nice down-to-earth, homey place, and she enjoys it. She has been there for two years now. The food is pretty good. They have a nice variety of food. It's nothing fancy. They usually have a large lunch and then a small dinner like a soup and a sandwich or something like that. But the food is good. I've shared meals with her there, so that's fine. Some of the staff are excellent. When my friend first moved in there, they had a lot of long-term staff. There seems to be a little bit more turnover recently. I think with any place, even in the hospital, you have some caregivers who are excellent and some who are average. It's very clean. They have done a remodel since she's been there, so it's refreshed and freshened up. It's very nice. It's not fancy, but it's very nice. I've seen some facilities that are true 5, and they're very kind of glamorous. And this isn't fancy like that, but I think for a place to live for an elderly person, it's very good. They've got everything from musical entertainment, large screen TV, bingo, church services, manicures, pedicures, they've got a hairstylist there, bridge, and exercise classes. I think they're similar to probably most facilities.

My brother stayed at Concord Royale for two weeks. The staff was awesome and friendly. The food was good. The rooms were immaculate, and they had events going on for the seniors. I'd give it a 10 all the way across. Rehab came in to help him from the hospital. It was a private room. They had movies, and they had different events like St. Patty's Day event and a Hawaiian event. They had events during the holidays and in the summertime. They had a shaved ice machine come up on the Hawaiian Day. They have wi-fi. They have walk-in showers for handicapped people, and they provide help getting dressed. The biggest thing is they treat their residents as family.

My Dad has lived here since Oct. 2015. I can't say enough about this place. They are caring and responsive. There are a lot of activities offered. My Dad is in a studio plus. His patio has a view of Mt. Diablo. Dianne P. is wonderful as is all of the staff we've dealt with. The only downside is the parking situation but the staff will work with you on that. I wish the Berg family would open up another community in the Concord area. This community is a role model.

Concord Royale was a really nice, very beautiful, clean community with very nice workers. I saw the different types of apartments that were expensive but nice. The rooms were very clean, very spacious, and the bathrooms were very nice, too.

My mother used to live at Concord Royale for probably three or four years. We were very happy with it and liked it very much. The downside for them was that they didn't have parking then. You had to learn when was the right time to go to get a parking space, or else you have to let them know if you have to double park. I didn’t want to have to deal with that kind of thing. As far as the place itself, it looked really good. They did some remodeling, and it was very nice. The staff was very nice. A few people are still working who were there when my mom lived there 11 years ago. They came in and talked to me, so they’re very nice.

Mother stayed at Concord Royale for a couple of days. It was delightful. The people were amazingly wonderful considering all that my mother put them through. They were very warm, very helpful, very understanding, just a lovely group of people. It was a lovely room and very roomy. It had high ceilings which gives it an illusion of more space. She had a sliding door that opened up onto a patio that had a grassy area off to the side. Everything was very, very clean and if we needed anything, we just asked and they took care of it for her. They had live entertainment on Fridays and they had bingo and poker. They had an ice cream social the day my mom was moving in.

I went to Concord Royale a couple of times. I know about this place because my grandmother was there years ago. It was a very nice facility. They have remodeled the place and everything. The pricing was fine. The only thing I didn't particularly care for as their set dinner hours. I didn't like their dining arrangement. We didn't eat there but the food smelled good. Apparently, they have a chef on staff.

It's an absolutely wonderful place. We never got to tour the room because it turned out my father didn't qualify, but it's a beautiful place. If he did, we would definitely have put him there. He even liked it.
