"One of my top choices was Canyon Trails at Topanga Senior Living. I liked the programming, I liked that they allow pets, and I liked that they have outings and transportation. My mom is in the early stages of her disease process, so I need to ensure that it's a very active community. They even alter dietary needs. They make it cultural if needed. My mom likes cultural food, and so that was OK. They have lots of arts, crafts, and movement. They go to museums, they go to the park, and they go to different restaurants. It's just a variety of different things. Josh, the tour guide, was a nice gentleman. He's incredibly empathetic."

"I toured Porter Ranch Garden for my father. It was okay but the location seemed kind of run down. They seemed clean, but it was a pretty beaten-up house. They seemed engaging and the person that gave me the tour was very informative. The rooms were okay and pretty basic. They weren't great and the cost was higher than what I said we could afford. She told me four thousand and that was a no. I saw the room and the living space area in the backyard. The living room was okay. In the backyard, there was a patio, and it was kind of rundown. The cost seemed high for the place and needed an upgrade or of keeping things up to date."

"Gardens at Northridge was good. It was very clean. There's a dining area and a room for viewing movies. I was very impressed with the rooms. The staff gave me a tour of the one-bedroom and then the studio. They were very good and very nice. The people were also very nice and very friendly. They even gave me a plate of cookies and they were absolutely delicious. The lady didn't show me the laundry room, though."

"Home Care of West Hills, LLC #2 was close to where I live and that is good. What I liked about it was that it had just about everything that my wife would need. They're very friendly and they seem to know enough about taking care of old people. They were very nice and informative. They have a little porch in the backyard where they can go out and eat. They also play some games, like card games. There's no exercise or anything like that. Then they have a dining area (one inside and one outside). From what I saw, the facility looked very clean. One of the girls was with a mop and a bucket when I got there."
