Assisted Living Communities in Murray, UT

"We decided on this facility because it is very close to where I live and it would be easy for me to visit my grandmother. The actual facility is very new and very well kept. There are several outdoor areas for the members to enjoy and there is also a lot of staff to take care of everyone. Unfortunately, it is also near a very busy street so it is sometimes loud. It is a large facility, but there aren't all that many members, which is good because that means the care is more personable. My grandmother said that most of the people were very nice and there is a sort of freedom to the place. There are many activities available for the members including a fitness center, game room, etc. My grandmother has told me that it doesn't even feel like an assisted living facility because of how innovative it is. The only thing that she didn't particularly like is the selection of food. The actual quality of food is good, but there are only several items to choose from each meal, though they do get changed each day. Overall, I am very satisfied with the facility. "

"We liked Rocky Mountain Care Sarah Daft Home. If my mother-in-law had been more independent and was able to navigate herself more, we might have picked that place because we liked the homey atmosphere. They had a creative activities director, and the people were involved in games. They had some beautiful quilting work that some of the clients had made. They have a common gathering room, but it's not for people that are more dependent or need more guidance. I think it's more for independent people. There was a lady in a walker, but she was mentally fine. They have different rooms. They have some where they have to go across the hall to a shared bathroom with showers, and then they have like apartments where they have their own private bathroom. They were larger, and we liked those. The second one was like a studio, but it was pretty large, and the third room that we saw had a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. It's an older place, so there is that to consider. But if my husband and I had to choose between that and the other place, we probably would have chosen the Sarah Daft Home because we just like the cozy community atmosphere there. After all, it is smaller. The staff was nice. A lot of them have been there for a long time. "

"Legacy Retirement Residence of South Jordan was very nice. I felt it was a little cliquish and that they judged people a little bit, which was kind of uncomfortable. Other than that, it was absolutely beautiful and spacious. The grounds were beautiful and well taken care of. The rooms were very beautiful and had nice, full kitchens. There was an air about it that didn't feel right, but it was very nice. "

"Cedarwood at Sandy wasn't as open as the others. It was more expensive and darker, but the outside looked nice. The staff during the tour was very nice. We were invited for a meal, but we didn't eat there. The dining room didn't seem to be as open. They had games and activities, patios, a vehicle to transport people, and a nice salon and they even invited me to come down and get my hair done. It was homey, but not as homey as the others."

"I toured Crescent Senior Living. They're helpful and informative. Everything looked good. It wasn't all eyewash like some of the others I looked at. It looked like they were more into the patients than in the way the place looked. The facility itself is great. It wasn't overdone. They were just a very comfortable feeling when you walked in there. The rooms were nice. They were nice sized. I'm impressed. Everything was so nice and airy, and the outside too, if they wanted to sit outside. There were so many opportunities for them to be outside and participate. They had a little garden and it was just homey. The caregiver said she's done it for almost 40 years. It's been her whole life and she just loves her patients. She was just so bubbly and seemed so caring. You could tell it was her calling."

"I have occasion to visit many assisted living facilities throughout Utah since my family all works within the health care system. My Aunt and cousin work in many assisted living facilities and my church group also holds a church meeting for the elderly at several local assisted living facilities, so I know what I am talking about when it comes to whether or not assisted living facilities are worth sending your loved ones to. I choose to only review those that I found to be upstanding, so I chose to review the facility known as the Brighton Gardens of SLC since I was so impressed with the staff and the grounds. The usual problems that people complain about when entering a home of this kind were nowhere to be found. One woman wandered from her room (an alzheimer's patient) and was spotted immediately and returned to safety. This staff was on point, meaning they knew who and what was going on at all times. The treats and food were exeptional and the rooms were spacious, especially for the price. The only complaint I would have about this assisted living facility is that it needs more grounds. Being in Salt Lake City it does not have the acres of land some of the other Utah facilities have for parks and walk areas, though this home still had beautiful gardens and paths for the residents. Definitely would consider sending my loved ones to live at this facility. "

"All the residents at Copper Creek Senior Living were out, active, and smiling. The place smelt nice. It just seemed like a wonderful place to live. They were doing a silent auction when I came in and they had a movie going in the movie theater. The residents were also watching a sports show in a different living area. They had popcorn going. It just seemed lively. I got to see the dining areas. There are multiple of them. So, they have a lot more options than just eating in the cafeteria. They always have food due to diabetes, which was important to me, and snacks in case their sugars are going low. It's where I wanted mom to go. I personally want to live there myself, too."

"My husband moved to Valencia at Draper. They're taking care of him and giving him the medication when he needs it and all that kind of stuff. It's just worked out. They serve three meals a day. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a little courtyard in the memory care unit. It's small, but it's sufficient."

"I went to Spring Gardens Draper. It was good. It was a nice community. The staff member who gave the tour were very nice and very knowledgeable of the place. The rooms were nice. I think it's a newer building and I think they're taking good care of it. The dining area was a good area for where they had to eat. It was nice."

"Sagewood at Daybreak is absolutely beautiful. They have a lovely dining room. They are well-staffed, and they are very caring. They wanted to know his food likes and things he is interested in. They showed a lot of interest even though Dad is only going to be there for respite care. They wanted to know all these things to make his stay very comfortable, which I thought was really great. The rooms were all new, and the food was all healthy food. It was a very impressive place. "

"This is a small facility, sixteen resident capacity, and the facility itself is not overly beautiful or anything, but this facility has a lot of heart. I've rarely seen a facility that puts as much emphasis on family then this one does. The staff bends over backwards to accommodate family visits, even if they aren't at the best times. They also invite family to all the parties and get togethers and encourage family participation. I've never visited this facility without seeing at least two or three different residents with visitors at any given time, and they're always talking and laughing and generally just having a good time. I also always see children there visiting their grandparents or great grandparents. They literally just light the place up. "

"The facility is beautiful and it looks like a five-star hotel. It is really a nice place. The staff is very caring and understanding. "

"My friend is in memory care at Legacy House of Bountiful. I like the system where you have medical care available and you can talk to and call the people if you have a problem. You're welcome there anytime and they keep track and let you know when your supplies have run out. They have different activities and they all stay involved pretty much. The nice thing about it is there are only 13 patients there. The location is handy for me since I don't live that far away. Most of the staff is really good."

"I toured Creekside Senior Living. I like that it was spacious, clean, feels secure and I like the food that was served. I've looked at both their senior living and assisted living, and I thought it was an excellent facility. They have a gym, an outside patio, and a small golf course."
