"My mom moved into the memory care area at Dublin Retirement Village in March, right before the facility had to restrict visitation due to the virus. Despite the shutdown, the staff and caregivers made every effort to keep residents happy and families connected. They went above and beyond to help my mom adjust to her new surroundings and the virus restrictions. They have done a good job keeping all residents safe during this pandemic. Now that we can visit outside, they have set up numerous stations for safe visitation with family members, which has been wonderful. I would definitely recommend this memory care facility."

"I like the feel of Brookdale Muirfield. The staff I met seemed very nice. I really liked the patio area that residents are allowed to go out to. Regarding amenities, they're all comparable to what I was looking at over where my mom is at right now. There's a garden area, and a beauty salon, and all that. They have activities for them. The biggest thing is they keep the residents busy every day. The staff who gave the tour was very trustworthy and very friendly. They explained everything really well. The best thing about this community is all the activities they had, and that outdoor space that the residents were allowed to go into on their own."

"The staff of Sunrise of Dublin was very helpful and very friendly. They answered all of my questions. They truly made me feel like they care. The place was very clean. It looked like the staff were really on top of everything as far as the patients' rooms and their setup. They seemed to be very efficient. We saw different sizes of the assisted living. There was one where there was a kitchen that was shared between two rooms. There was another one that may have been a little bit bigger than the standard single room. The staff who assisted me was very knowledgeable. It seemed like a lot of them had been there for a while."

"My father is at The Ashford at Sturbridge assisted living. He just wasn't happy with the food, but their chef is working to make that better. I've been talking with the director and such. The physical appearance is excellent. They've only been open a couple of years. I think it'll be three years this coming January. Their services are very good for both the aides and the nurses. They're very attentive. When I talk with them and ask if they could take care of something for my dad, they're always very willing to do that. I haven't eaten there since January of 2019 when they first moved in. The menu is varied, and I think some of my dad's problem is that he's 88 and your taste buds start to go when you get older. Things just don't taste as you remember them. They take them out to restaurants once in a while and out to shopping. They also have a little car show in their parking lot, and they've had the OSU alumni band come there and play. They have a lot of good activities. They have an onsite beautician and a library. My dad said the food has been very good the last two weeks and it's been three weeks ago since I talked with management about it. I know he's paying less than he would at some other places. They're very responsive. They've closed their facility due to Covid before the governor closed the State of Ohio. I feel that they're very concerned about the welfare of their residents. That's their number one priority and I'm thankful for that."

"We went to Carriage Court of Hilliard. It was very nice, but my mother-in-law wasn't able to go. I love it. I would go there. I felt very comfortable with everyone there. They're very kind. Angie was our contact there, and she fully went through the instructions and answered any questions that I had. My sister went with me and even she thought it was very nice. The staff was awesome, and that's why I didn't even want to go look at another place. I just felt very comfortable with her and her knowledge of the facility. It was very clean. The lunch smelled delicious. People seemed happy. We just walked by the dining area, and the residents were eating, but it was very clean. The workers there seemed very nice to the residents giving them their lunch, and it smelled good. We saw a studio and it was a nice size. If we go there, we will choose a one-bedroom for my mother-in-law. I think the studio was too small for most people for long-term. "

"My friend is now at Brookdale Trillium Crossing. I like the facility. I like the entranceway in that it opens up into the dining room so that there's kind of a sense of community there. I like the fact that she had only been there about three weeks, but the person at the front desk called her by name when we walked out. She's in assisted living, and one of the assistants there wanted to make sure that my friend knew that if we were leaving, we needed to sign back in. She had left before with someone else and didn't sign back in. So, I thought that was good that the person on her floor brought that up to her and walked back and showed her where the back door was if she wanted to go out the back way. She asked my friend if she had a fob so she could get in the back door, and my friend did not, so she said, 'Okay, I'll make sure that you get one.' To me, that exhibited that they were keeping a close eye on her whereabouts as they should. My friend's apartment is accommodating some of her furniture that was pretty big. The ceilings are fairly high. Even though it's only a one-bedroom apartment, the ceiling gives you the feeling that it's much larger than it is. The bathroom is a nice big size. She has a full kitchen. Her furniture seems to fit in there pretty well. My friend is still unpacking, but I thought that was pretty good. For activities, I know they have a pool, but it was not open at the time because they were doing something to it. My friend likes the fact that they go out shopping every Wednesday and she can get on a travel van and go with whoever else is going shopping, and she can go to the local stores. I like that. She likes the selection of food, and she's very picky. She likes the food, and of course, that's important. She has the option to bring it back to her room, which she is doing because her room is pretty close by. I know she's doing an exercise class, too. So, I was very happy that she was getting into that right away. "

"Heritage Senior Living of Marysville was really nice. It was big, roomy, super clean, and you could tell it was newer than others. They had a lot of amenities there, so it was very nice. They had a salon option there, though it was not included in the cost, they had a theater built-in, they had actual chapel services there, they had a whole coffee area, and an actual bar where they can have games and get drinks. The staff I had an interaction with was very nice and knowledgeable, and she was good. The dining area was very nice, and there was plenty of sitting room. It had a very nice ambiance, it was by a fireplace, and everything else there was nice. Their rooms were nice. They were also roomy and very clean, and new and freshly painted. Everything was kind of upscale. Their maintenance was excellent."

"My mother was a Danbury resident for a year until she passed. My family is confident that we made the best choice with Danbury as the entire staff there is top notch. My mom had wonderful care there. I interacted with the staff on a daily basis and always felt their care was genuine. Everyone went above and beyond in looking after my mother. The food was always outstanding and the entire facility well-maintained. I told their loving and compassionate Exec. Director, Cara, that when my time comes, the Danbury is where I want to be. Thank you so much."

"Bickford of Upper Arlington seemed very comfortable and very open. Because of the nature of the facility, I think it was good that they had locked doors to make sure that the elderly folks who like to wander won't just wander out into the street or into the river across the street. I really appreciated that. The rooms seemed to be well kept, nice, and clean, and they were centrally located so that it was easy for the residents to be able to get back and forth. They had some elevators, so if they lived on other floors then they could get up and down pretty easily. It's very clean. I went past their dining area, and the food smelled wonderful. It also looked very cozy."

"Overall, The Bristol was a very nice place. It's very new, so everything's sparkling clean. The staff was very, very pleasurable to talk to. In fact, I knew a couple of people who moved in there and they liked it very much. The rooms and the closet areas were a little smaller than we liked, but other than that, we liked everything about it."

"The Coventry Senior Living was very pretty. It's only been there for 14 months so it was the newest with the biggest rooms and the most activities. I met the woman who gave me a tour, I met two nurses, the chef, the dining room supervisor, and the receptionist. All of them are very friendly. They stopped at the table where we were talking and chatted for a few minutes. All of them stopped, except the receptionist, because she had to stay in the lobby. I did not eat there but I talked to the chef. He said that they don't open cans and they don't freeze their vegetables. All of their vegetables are fresh. That's the only place where I got any information about food. I just don't know what it would cost for my cousin to go there, and that was the drawback. They were a little vague. They said they're willing to do an assessment, even if we haven't decided she's coming, like on FaceTime or something, because my cousin is not local. So, they said they could do a long-distance assessment, then they could tell us which level of care she would be in. If I were younger and had unlimited time, I could do all these assessments and find out exactly what it would cost everywhere, but I'm not younger. They've got a beautiful library and three dining rooms connected to each other. It's beautifully laid out. It's in a busy neighborhood, a construction zone, so I wouldn't give the neighborhood a high mark, but the facility is beautiful. There's a parking garage."

"We went to Bickford of Worthington. The building seemed very open and very comfortable. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed to be very supportive of the residents there. They were open with information. If I had any questions or if I thought of anything, they were ready to answer whatever my concerns were in preparation for my grandmother. They had various sizes of rooms. The ones I got to see were the smaller ones. Depending on what size of room you might need, they had a schedule based on how much you could pay. I think it was either per day or per week or something like that. The place looked clean and well-kept from what I could tell. I didn't get a chance to try their food. It smelled good though. From what I could see, it looked like the people were comfortable."

"The lady who did the tour at The Avalon of Lewis Center was good to follow up later with me. She reached out to me several times and they even brought something by my door and left a little gift, a book, on how to pick communities, and things like that. She also followed up with me through email and phone calls multiple times. I thought the tour was great. I liked the facility. It was very clean. It smelled good and it was well-maintained. It was the closest to where we lived so I was considering it during the time that I was looking for my dad."
