"I like that Chesapeake Cottage Assisted Living was not overly institutional. There was a good combination of staff, plus a homey feel. I felt it was medical enough to care for the people, but it still felt like home. They have decent-sized rooms. They have single rooms, and they have double rooms. The double rooms have a built-in wall divider. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and answered every question (they didn't have to really think about it). They're really professional. It was lunchtime when we went there, and it smelled good."

"I like Gull Creek Senior Living. The person that I spoke with was very caring and was very competent. The facility was nice. I was impressed. It's on my possible list for my wife. It's just further away. Berlin is 45 minutes to an hour from my house, as opposed to the other places I've visited that are 20 minutes from my house. The rooms were nice. They give you privacy. I'm looking for a private room for my wife, not a semi-private room, although they had both. At the time, I was thinking that my wife might be able to go into assisted living first, but that doesn't look possible anymore. The staff was very good. I like speaking to her. She was very knowledgeable, and it was a good meeting. It was kept very nice. I couldn't complain about the way it looked or anything. They have private rooms for even the memory care people, which I liked. The dining area was nice. They have all kinds of activities for people and they have nice breakout rooms and stuff like that for them to participate in activities."

"We picked Salisbury for the price. It’s not perfect, but it’s a nice place. At first, there was some staff we loved and some we hated, but now that they really have gotten to know her, she’s become friends with them. It’s really a lot better. They do a lot of activities, like bingo, arts and crafts, and tree decorating. They give her so much food that she can’t finish it. "

"I chose BayCare Assisted Living for my mother, and she moved in last April. I've not been inside. I visited outside. I like that it's close to me, it's affordable with my mother's budget, and it seems very nice. Everybody seems very nice, very good, very experienced, and caring. It's in the country, so it has a lot of nature to it. I would recommend them. When it all happened, it was the beginning of the pandemic, and they were the only facility that really contacted me."

"I worked in services for the aging for 25 years. My husband and I chose Manor House because it provides excellent care for independent residents as well as those who need additional help. We have been at Manor House for 3 1/2 years and enjoy the comforts provided by a caring and efficient staff. Manor House offers so many advantages it is hard to list them all. Recently I developed an infection in my toe after a minor procedure. When I called the doctor's office, he was out for the day. I was able to call the Manor House Wellness Center and see the Nurse Practitioner immediately. We have a wide range of fitness opportunities including a heated indoor pool and a large fitness room. There are many activities and trips to meet a range of tastes. We frequently have outside entertainers come in. There is also a library that is open 24 hours a day. These services are open for independent living, assisted living, rehab, skilled care and memory care. Pricing is reasonable."

"My sister-in-law moved to Paradise Senior Living. It's a very caring community. It is very homey, comfortable, and beautifully decorated for the season. It's very clean. Everybody seems to be very content and very happy. They prepare meals to order. You simply tell them what you want, and they will get it for you. I was very pleased. They draw and play games. They try to interact with one another. They provide everything, so that's a big plus."

"What I like the most about The Woodlands of Ocean Pines is that the front desk is very friendly and the activities that they have seem to be great. My relative lives in the assisted living and the residents there have a lot of options for them to do. They have a movie room, a puzzle room, a very pretty dining room, a game room, a card room, and a convenient hair salon. Before COVID, they had trips to the grocery store, but they might be starting that up again. They also do bingo and church services. The only thing is the nursing staff usually responds to me, but not promptly, and if you have somebody who needs help with showering but is resistant, they don't have the staff to deal with that."

"My brother and I brought my parents to Brandywine Senior Living/Fenwick Island in November 2013, from their home in Florida. Dad is near 90 and was very weak, both from a long trip moving here and his congestive heart disease. Mom was suffering from dementia. We were met at the door to Brandywine by medical and management staff after their normal hours. We could not have received a warmer welcome from family. It seemed as though everyone on staff knew each of us personally. The medical staff paid immediate attention to their specific needs and arranged for the proper therapy for them. When Mom passed away in March 2014, the staff was extremely supportive of all of us, especially my Dad. Dad has blossomed under their care, physically and mentally. At home, his hobby was woodworking. Recently, the staff at Brandywine started a cooperative woodworking project where men who have interests like my Dad build small wooden projects, using power tools, which are then finished by other residents who enjoy painting and decorating. Dad was so happy after his first day of this project that he sounded like a kid at Christmas when he told me that ”they moved a woodshop in and I’m covered with sawdust again!” The attention to detail at Brandywine is amazing. I truly feel as though I am among friends whenever I’m there visiting. My brother and I no longer worry about Dad. We know that he is well cared for, well fed and happy. "

"Our son is a client at Peach Tree. He is a Traumatic Brain Injury Survior. We visited Peach Tree over a year ago and our son fell in love with it and the clients and staff. He has received a room there and is so happy that he is "on his own". It was hard on us as parents to let go but we had to let go in order for him to grow and be happy.
