What I like the most about The Woodlands of Ocean Pines is that the front desk is very friendly and the activities that they have seem to be great. My relative lives in the assisted living and the residents there have a lot of options for them to do. They have a movie room, a puzzle room, a very pretty dining room, a game room, a card room, and a convenient hair salon. Before COVID, they had trips to the grocery store, but they might be starting that up again. They also do bingo and church services. The only thing is the nursing staff usually responds to me, but not promptly, and if you have somebody who needs help with showering but is resistant, they don't have the staff to deal with that.

Catered Living of Ocean Pines was nice. It was more of a community arrangement versus a senior citizen home. It used to be a 55 and over, and they're transitioning over to senior care and I like that. They had two-bedrooms, two-baths. They had plenty of things to do. It's a small and quaint facility. The staff was very pleasant. The facility was clean. They had a lounge, dining area, game area, activity area, and a library.

The Woodlands was very close, but they do not have the facility for my dad. However, they might be too close, and I was afraid my dad would come out and walk around the corner. They didn't have a dementia or Alzheimer's lock down section, but I heard that they were looking into doing that. They had the independent living, and then they had the nursing home; there's no in between.

The Woodlands of Ocean Pines was older, kind of dark and gloomy. It wasn't up-to-date in comparison to other facility I visited, although their grounds were pretty. The one-bedroom apartment I saw was very small for the price. I thought it was a little expensive. They did have a beauty shop there; however, when we visited, people were out in their little deck still in their pajamas and were eating from a tray. There were only a couple of them in the dining room that morning. Apparently, it would cost more to eat meals in their dining room. This facility was expensive. Regarding activities, they did have bingo there. They also have a bus that would take you to different places if you need to go around the community. The owner called me three to four times for me to rent the apartment I saw and, for me, that was a plus. I like that. What they need to improve on though was to update the lighting and the carpets. Just update the facility itself and make it bright.
