"I will be moving into Vitality Living Elizabethtown. I was greeted by Olivia, and with me being in a wheelchair, she pushed me around. We first went into the dining area, and all the tables were decorated, and it looked nice. She showed me the room where they play bingo, and they can make puzzles, and then we went upstairs to a room that I would want. It was the suite. It's not as big as the one-bedroom. You walk in, and you have your little kitchenette. You have a full-size refrigerator, a sink, and a microwave. Then you've got a handicapped bathroom where you can walk into the shower and not have to worry about getting over a tub. They have the seat already in the wall. You just lay it flat to sit down. The bathroom is big enough for a person in a wheelchair. I wouldn't have any trouble trying to sit down on the toilet and get up from a wheelchair. They have plenty of sink space. The floors are vinyl. There's no rug. You've got two beautiful windows to look at, and if you have a TV that's mountable, they will mount the TV on the wall, so that it doesn't take up any space. You have two closets that, when you first walk in, are on both sides. They're enough to hang your coats and your clothes. I liked it just because it was adequate for me to have my bed, my dresser, two recliners, and then another dresser and bookcase. You can make it what you want it to be. Then we went down the hall, and she showed me a couple of other rooms where there's physical therapy. They have a physical therapist there onsite. They have the laundry room. If you want them to do your laundry, they'll do it, or if you want to do it, you can do your own. There's a nice walkway outside. Depending on where your room is, you can look out and see Freeman Lake. It's got a lot of walking area. They go to Red Lobsters or a different restaurant every Friday. On Wednesdays, they do something. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, there are different operating vans that take the clients to their appointments. Everybody was so friendly. One of the guys had a dog, and he says, look at my shirt and his shirt says, "Watch out, here comes trouble." I left there very pleased, and I had been there years ago with a gospel group that was singing. They have church on Sundays, and then somebody comes on Friday nights. There's always something going on there. They provide three meals, and it's restaurant-style. For breakfast, I think it's the same, but lunch and supper, they give you two options to pick from, and if you just want a hamburger, or a cheeseburger, or a grilled cheese sandwich, just tell the chef and see if they can make it for you."
