"My dad moved to Bluegrass Assisted Living in Bardstown. We like it for the location and price. Everything's going well, the people are friendly, and he's settled in, so that's good. The staff is very friendly, they're good with him, and they take care of anything he might need. Their dining area is a nice, big room, and there are plenty of staff people in there to sit with them while they eat lunch. It's got a nice homey feel, so it feels like a home, and they have a movie night with popcorn."

"My mom moved into the Sanders Ridge Health Campus. It was the closest to our home. It's a new-looking facility. They have friendly and knowledgeable staff members. The rooms are nice and modern, with cable, WIFI, windows, and outside views. It's well-maintained. My mom enjoys the food and the variety of the menu. It's nice quality, has good food, and is enjoyable. They have various entertainment that comes in. They do bingo and arts and crafts. They have outdoor activities where they take them to various areas. My mom goes to any of the musical events they have. They have happy hour on Friday evenings. They have music and an ice cream social activity."

"My husband was at Bluegrass at Elizabethtown. The layout is good. It feels pretty homey. There are a lot of places a family can come and sit with the residents. I met staff on both shifts, also on weekdays and weekends, and everyone seemed to care about the residents. There's a nice outdoor area that everyone in the memory care can walk in safely. It's open but it only has one door, so you have to go in and out the same door. I've seen the menu and I saw the food and it looked good. I was very happy about this place because it is six miles from my home, so it's very close to me."

"My mother-in-law didn't stay at Sunrise Manor for very long, but the care was fine. She didn't experience a whole lot there but I think she was right where she needed to be and was provided good care. The staff was very caring and kind. The place was nice and very well-kept. They kept us informed and we had a good experience."

"My parents are in Beehive Homes of Smyrna- Louisville, KY. It's a very homey place, and they have a lot of hands-on care. The staff is nice, very friendly. They love their people. So it's just wonderful. It's like your own house, very nice. They have cornhole toss, bingo, crafts, and they made sandwiches for the homeless. They have a lot of entertainment too. The courtyard is not so great, it's very small, my dad's in a wheelchair, and the sidewalk is downhill, and he's afraid to lose control when he rolls on it, so they haven't been using it. The dining area is nice."

"We really like Wesley Manor, and my mother loves it there. They’ve got lots of programs, activities, and things, and she is very happy there. The rooms are a good size. My mom is in just a regular room -- it is not deluxe or anything -- but it is a very decent size and very clean. They just have a lot going on for the seniors. They’ve got crafts, they do Bingo and trail walking, and they just have them busy all the time. One thing that we really like about Wesley Manor is they have a chapel, and they have a Catholic mass every Sunday. My mom is Catholic, and that is one thing that she really likes. When we took the tour, the director of marketing was very down-to-earth, and he answered all the questions we had; we just had a wonderful time, and we felt comfortable there. We did visit two others, and we liked them, but there was something about Wesley Manor that just really clicked with us, and my mom was very comfortable there too; that is why we chose it. "

"My husband is at Glen Ridge Health Campus. We chose that place for him, because it's the only facility that does skilled nursing. The layout is really good. It's easy to follow and they have PT and OT. There's a dining area for each group. They were supposed to have activities, but due to not having enough staff, they haven't been able to do activities in the skilled nursing part. Also, their food has a lot of carbs."

"We toured Willow Creek Senior Living. They were friendly. What we saw of it was nice. It's one of the older facilities there in Elizabethtown, but well maintained. The staff seemed very nice. The dining area was OK. The outdoor area was nice, and each unit had a little patio where you could put a couple lawn chairs up, and that was very attractive. Other than that, there wasn't a whole lot of outdoor space there. There were trees and everything. It was attractive looking."

"Morningview Gardens was small, but it seems to be well-staffed. The employees were very friendly. They do exercise every day, sing-alongs, and gatherings. "

"We toured RobinBrooke Senior Living. My mom is on the waitlist. Our experience with it was excellent. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and clean. We were there during dinner at one time, and it was very nice. The common areas were very well-kept and clean. They have activities, but we weren't there for many of them. What stood out to us was their friendly staff and the very clean and kind of upscale atmosphere. They have a spa, a salon, a library, a theater, a chapel, and a workout room. They had quite a few things."

"I took my aunt to Franciscan Health Care Center for her rehab. She only had 20 days under Medicare guidelines, so after that I had to find her another place with a Medicaid bed. With this COVID issue, no one's even entered. She's happy and would have liked to stay there. They kind of give you a little more personal thing, even when she's there I at least get to talk to the director and the people at the desk. So even if I didn't go to her room at least I got to talk to people face to face."

"My aunt is in Presbyterian Homes Westminster. I only have one concern. When I talked to the social services about her, she was having an issue where they didn't have her sit up for a little while. I'm going to talk to them about that to make sure that the floor nurse manager would take the lead on it to make sure it's done. They had a turnover of nurses in there and the nurses were more from an agency coming in to work. They had some COVID cases there too. I know they're busy, but she assured me that my request would be catered. I investigated it first before we sent her there, they took her as Medicaid pending. The lady there took care of the Medicaid papers. I never got to go into the building, but I talked to my wife on the phone and she's happy there and has no complaints. Everything that she has there is satisfactory. They have activities, but she's not in any shape to participate in them so she watches TV and I bring her books, snacks, and I sent that in there. I dropped off the package and they would deliver it to her room."

"It was a nice facility. The staff during the tour was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were pretty nice, very accommodating, and adequate. Everything seemed to be in good order. There was an outdoor courtyard, a recreational space for families visiting, and a movie room. It's worth a visit to see what they offer."
