This agency provides information and referrals to help seniors connect with community-based services such as nutrition counseling, transportation and health care services. The Kenneth Young Center is a nonprofit organization that serves qualifying members of the community through social and mental health services. It provides in-home assessments for older adults to evaluate their needs and determine the level of care they need. It administers the state’s free health insurance counseling program for seniors and the Senior Health Assistance Program to help older adults apply for Medicare Savings Programs and prescription drug assistance programs. It also has an elder abuse response program to intervene in cases of abuse, neglect and exploitation.

The Barn is a senior community center that hosts games, congregate meals and social activities for older adults in Schaumburg. The center also offers free wellness clinics conducted by licensed nurses several times per month.
