My mom was at Prestige Assisted Living. The assisted living facility had a front porch and a parking lot. There was no way to have a patio or any outdoor space. There was some sort of outdoor space on the memory care side, but it was all fenced in and it was basically all concrete. The inside of the facility was fine. When she first moved there, I felt like her apartment was kept clean, but that had gone downhill. They had a huge turnover of employees, which could be confusing for elderly people. My mom would get confused when new people were coming in to take care of her all the time, so that became a problem. Most of the staff was very good, there was just not enough of them. They had some kind of exercise and they had something programmed each day. They had finally hired a part-time activities director who was amazing because she took the time to visit the residents in their rooms who couldn't come out of their rooms to do activities. She went out of her way to help my mother, but she wasn't there for more than 3 or 4 weeks because she couldn't get enough time, so she left. I thought it was kind of silly in the evenings, especially on the weekends, because they would have meals that I thought were more for children, like a corndog and chips. They didn't have meals that I thought were that nutritious, especially on the weekends and at dinner. I know they usually had bigger meals at lunch. They should have better activities for the less mobile patients, better leadership as a whole for the facility, and better communication.

I had a good impression of Green Acre Lodge. The staff was very friendly and the facility was obviously well taken care of and attractive. They have private rooms, and for an assisted living facility, it was very nice. They have some group activities, an activities director, and some outside gardening. The problem is it's a memory care facility, which means it's locked so they don't transport their patients out. They actually have a visiting family physician who goes to the facility. As far as activities, it's limited since the people never get out of there. They just didn't give me much about the financial qualifications on the tour so I actually had to call back and speak to the intake coordinator.

My mother receives excellent care. The Lodge is beautiful. The staff is so caring and my mother receives excellent attention. Also there is little turnover with the staff. She was recovering from a heart attack at 94 when she went there and is now 97 and still doing well.

Bible studying and all good stuff, if not great things with the owner's wife. Everything is great! Praise the Lord!!!
