Independent Living Reviews for The Park at Surprise

January 28, 2021

By Joan

I visited this facility

The Park at Surprise is beautiful and only a year old. The apartments are really nice. The only staff that I interacted with was the front desk and the gentleman who gave me the tour. He was the manager, I think. What I was looking at was a 1-bedroom den apartment and it was absolutely beautiful. It has two bathrooms, a nice kitchen, all new appliances, and granite countertops. It had a fireplace.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom already decided and she already moved in to The Park at Surprise. It's brand new, the price of it fits her budget, and she likes the food. She loves it and we have no complaints. It's very modern. She likes that it's all new appliances and it actually is really good for her. They've got a theatre, crafts, they've got all of the card games, and they always have happy hour every afternoon. She likes the layout because if she does tour left around the inside of the building that equals one mile, so she can exercise.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Living at The Park is like vacationing with Friends With Benefits. The benefit is a well-designed, well appointed, and attractive facility; the friends part is the almost family-close relationship between staff and residents. We are regarded with respect, provided for with thoughtfulness, and related to with good humor --- and none of the patronizing cosseting that many 'of a certain age' are subjected to. The staff and management (from Maintenance to General Manager) are as thoughtful as good neighbors, discrete as good friends, talented as Go-to Friends, and sincere as family. We remind ourselves every day of our good fortune in living at The Park in Surprise.

I visited this facility

I went to the Park at Surprise. It's brand new and it's very nice, but it was just too expensive. The rooms were beautiful, very nice, all updated with ceramic and beautiful flooring, and everything was top of the line. They have a beautiful pool, they take you places, and there's a couple of different options as far as restaurants: they have a bistro and a regular restaurant that you can choose from. I would have loved it there, but I couldn't afford it.
