I moved to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. The people are so patient and understanding. They were so patient with me and helped me out and explained everything. So it was a very good experience. I've just been in my room. I'm still putting things away and getting set up, but I haven't gone out and used any of the other facilities yet. I've seen all of them. They look excellent. They were holding on the day I moved in, a Cowboy barbecue event. Things are going on all the time.
What you can do with Caring
About Glencroft Center for Modern Aging in Glendale, Arizona
At Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, we feel Successful Aging can be summed up simply by making sure someone, no matter what their age, has a sense of purpose and direction. If we can provide our seniors with purpose, passion and meaning in their lives then we will put them in the best possible scenario of aging successfully. As an organization we maintain focus on helping our residents achieve a sense of fulfillment in many key areas of their lives: physically, mentally, socially, spiritually and emotionally. Making New Friends with Similar Interests At the core of us, humans are social creatures. Even when older, there is a need for a community where every individual feels like a part of something bigger than them, like they matter. There is a feeling of being safe and lightness of being that can come from that arrangement that is invaluable. Research shows that of the top factors that improve quality of life, our daily social interactions with other people top the chart. While you are out and about in your community doing what you love, youll come across other seniors of your age who enjoy the same things. If you find your social circle has gotten smaller, consider taking an on-site class to meet interesting people with similar interests. Enjoy Many Amenities Close to Your Home As you factor in the cost savings of having so many things you love to do so close to your home, youll also want to consider the convenience. Yoga or fitness classes, indoor pool, some special events, various type of adult education, and entertainment are all located onsite, along with gourmet dining options staffed by professional chefs. Regularly scheduled worship services and other special services such as bible study, home and hospital visits, as well as grief counseling services are available at Glencroft. We have our own separate barber shop and beauty shop easily accessible on campus. Free weekly trips are made to several nearby grocery stores and shopping centers. Never Worry About Home Maintenance or Yardwork One of the key advantages of a senior housing, Arizona community is saying good bye to yard work, home maintenance. There are a lot of pieces that have to fit into the puzzles of making a place a home. There is the cleaning that has to be done, ensuring the front lawn is kept well respectable. Does it look like there might be a storm? So, the roof has to be checked too. Winter is here; are the heaters working properly? Who will clear the driveway? There are dishes to be washed after meal time and laundry to be done periodically. Its a lot of work, and it is work that is easier to do when youre younger and your body does not begrudge you those strained muscles. Being in a continuum care community affords the benefits of maintenance without the input of your time and energy that goes into it. These things are included in your monthly senior living fees packages. You may even have the option to add extra housekeeping services too. Move in Healthy and Stay Healthy We offer an incredible variety of engaging activities for any senior who is experiencing changes in their physical and mental health. The social element here can provide great motivation and stimulation. The vision of Glencroft is to create an environment that inspires seniors to experience enriched and fulfilling lives. Glencroft is the largest Senior Living Community in Arizona and the 4th largest in the nation. The community sits on 40 lush acres of citrus trees and grass. We offer all-inclusive services to our residents which consists of housekeeping, security, meals, transportation and activities. If your loved one needs additional attention we offer Glencroft at Home services to help with activities of daily living to assist residents. This allows our residents to remain independent for the longest amount of time.To learn more about this providers license and review other available state reports, please visit: Arizona Department of Health Services Public Health Licensing

I'm in Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. It's nice. The staff is excellent. You go to the restaurant for meals. They have activities all the time. I have a lovely full kitchen, a full-sized refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, and a walk-in shower. It is very nice here and we have good utilities and a monthly meal ticket. It's pet friendly, so I have my little dog and security is excellent. If you have any issues, they have the workman here to change your light bulb or whatever you need to be done.

I went to look at the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. The facility is very large. I think they have over 800 residents. They had a small house that was attached to another house. It was very busy. It's so large that they have so many people. It's crowded in every place that you go. The facility is a lot older, but everything is kept up very nicely. They had trucks out there that were emptying things and moving things around. It just wasn't a quiet environment. They had so many amenities there that it blew my mind. Everything that you could imagine is there, which is great. You have to walk everywhere. The staff was great. The apartment is a small house, and it was very nice. The size was fantastic. It was almost the same size as my own personal house right now. Everything was on one floor. The interior was very nice. They did not have a garage. They had covered parking, which I didn't like. It was right outside your front door, not just your car, but everybody else's cars too.

I had an in-person tour of the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. I like that it's apartment-style, so there's privacy. I also like that assisted living was protected. It was kind of gated off, but still within view of independent living. So we knew that the residents there felt well-protected and safe. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, knew a lot of the residents, and were warm and pleasant. They had a gym and personal training. They had the OT and PT. They had a big screen for movie viewing. They had a little area that was more like a gift shop where people could go and find things that they needed, but they could also work there if they wanted to.

We toured the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. We saw a gentleman by the name of Richard. He was unbelievable. He explained things very basically and very clearly. He didn't overwhelm us because there is a ton of information and we're new to looking at this. My mom can get very easily overwhelmed but she did not feel that way there. She made that comment to me when we walked out of there. Richard explained everything very well. He gave us some helpful information on how to obtain information about veteran assistance. He went over the programs and all the activities and everything that Glencroft has, which is amazing. He was very thorough, but not overwhelming. We got enough information when we left there, and my mom likes the community, and it is something she would be interested in and entertaining moving in there. It was a wonderful experience. The common areas are big green-yarded areas that are well-manicured with trees. They have an outdoor amphitheater. They have concerts and barbecues. There are areas for pets. They accept pets, which is good because my mom and dad have a small dog, and they welcome them there. We looked at their casitas, which are kind of on their own. And then we also looked at their apartment area, which is in a three-story building. Both of those were nice. They have a big pool, and they have lots of activities. They have a rehab center there. They have a big outdoor area where there's plenty of space to be able to do the things that you need to do. And that's a 40-acre campus, so if you wanted to go out and just walk around the campus, you can get your steps in, which my mom likes. They offer yoga and Pilates and things that my mom is active in right now. Richard was the main person that we dealt with. We also spoke to the receptionist who was very welcoming and offered us water. She immediately went in and told Richard that we were there. There was no hesitation. Within probably 3 to 5 minutes, Richard came out, introduced himself, and took us to his office. We passed some of the employees that were there. They were all very courteous and kind. Most of them were busy working, but the interaction was great. It is an older facility, and there's no doubt about that. But it was very clean. The landscaping was maintained. The buildings were painted. For an older community, it seems to be very well taken care of and manicured.

We were impressed that Glencroft Center for Modern Aging had so many options. It's 50 years old and I think it's been fairly well maintained. The apartments were quite spacious. We were looking at apartments that are called Casitas. They're in a separate area for the higher functioning independent people and I liked them. You have an afternoon patio and a morning patio. So, you had two options for you to drink your coffee and have your cocktail. It seemed very open. You could put a gate/fence down for your dog. You can make it as beautiful as you want to. Then we toured the apartment and it had a full kitchen. It's beautiful and well-maintained with lots of space until we get to the bathroom. It was a very narrow opening. They should put a pocket door in there. It was a fifties bathroom, if you're old enough to be aware of that. It's a very narrow door and a very narrow space. You just get in there, do what you have to do, and get out. That was a real turn-off for me. If they widened the door, and made it a foot wider, that would have probably made me happy, but no, the bathroom was not. The gal was very helpful. She had lots of information and was willing to talk numbers if we wanted to. We ate there and the food was acceptable. It was fine. The service was good. They had attentive staff. It didn't wow us, but it was home-cooked food. The campus is confusing until you know it. You had to go from one place to another. You're walking or driving, but probably walking would be the best thing, and there are so many buildings there that I could get lost very easily. I think it's too many buildings to try to find where you want to be, but they have everything that we were looking for. It's just in a strange place.

The tour experience at Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was a five. It was very nice. There is a nice variety of townhomes called Casitas Campus, which is well laid out. They have great amenities. The fitness room is awesome with a full-time trainer. They have a variety of home casitas or apartment-style living, three locations to eat on the premises, a bank, a thrift store, and an entertainment room. They have lots of activities and lots of scheduled activities as well. They have a traditional dining area, one with a fast-food atmosphere, and the third one is a bar and grill. Rick, the staff, was very cordial, very communicative, answered all the questions, and gave us a second tour. This is our primary choice at this time for my father-in-law. It's very clean and well-kept.

I felt like Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was an older property. It could have been more updated. But the people who were working there were extremely nice and knowledgeable. They were very helpful, wanted to help me out, and made sure my mom was going to be OK. And that was the good part about it. I just don't think it was modern enough or large enough. It was clean, but still very dated. They had games and crafts. They offered the services to get to the store and doctor's appointments. The surroundings were beautiful. What was most important to me was the fact they had a beauty salon she could go to and they had dinners that she could go to and eat with people if she wanted to. They had a lot of interactive games to help my mom. If we were to put her there, she could get to know people and have people to interact with. The staff who gave me the tour was very personable. The dining area was small, but there was a variety of meals.

I moved into the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. They upkeep quite often. The campus is nicely laid out. It's a very nice place to live. The staff is great. They have a gym where they do all sorts of balance classes and things that people might need when they're out of surgeries and stuff. They have sewing, quilting, and painting classes. There's a lot of class for everyone. They have two different restaurants. They have their dining, and then they have Henry's, which is a great place for hamburgers. Henry's gives you almost anything you want, and that's nice. I like the food plan now. They have a hospital here on campus, too.

My mother moved into the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. She's very happy there because of all the activity. They have a mobility class, water aerobics, and talent shows. She does comedy there. The food is OK. The facility is very clean and well kept. Security is always driving around, so there are no issues. It's very safe. My mom's apartment is perfect. The staff is very helpful.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was a very large facility with 3 different living options to choose from, from single-level casitas to apartments. They offered a lot. It was so much that it was somewhat overwhelming. They had around 800 residents there, but it was almost like a ghost town. Nobody was out doing anything. There were maybe a couple of people sitting in the dining room. The staff who toured us around was very experienced, knowledgeable, and considerate about the amount of time we wanted to spend there so that he didn't overwhelm us more than he already had.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was pretty good but not as kept up as the other two facilities I saw. There were no people that were around. I just saw the lady up at the front desk and then the lady that took us to the room. The rooms looked OK, but it wasn't newer looking. You can tell that place was a very old building. The sizes weren't as good, about medium size, just in between the size of the large one that I've been to and the small one. The walk-in closet was large enough though, and they had a kitchenette with a nice-sized refrigerator. The range was electrical (most of them were), the dishwasher was fairly new, and the microwave was above the stove. The outdoor spaces weren't as big as the other one. It was a little small area where you could really just sit out with a small single table and maybe two or three chairs. They had a pool and it wasn't as kept up, but the landscape was. The bushes were cut down nicely. It was clean.

I went to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. I pretty much like everything. I see nothing negative there. Everything's great. Their present staff were nice, the way they treated some of the residents. They were paying attention, they were taking care of them, So I thought it was pretty nice. The staff was very knowledgeable, he was not pushy, and answered all my concerns without even me asking about it. So, I thought he was very well aware of what I was thinking and my thought process, and what I was looking for.

There really isn't much that I liked about Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. Number one, it's too far from where I live to visit my brother. The distance was probably the first issue. It was also way too large, way too big, and had multiple buildings. My brother is disabled, and he had a stroke many years ago. He walks with a cane, and he's got a brace on his legs, so getting around to the different facilities for the different activities and stuff, we thought, was going to be too much. It was also very old. It was very dated, so it wasn't to my liking from that perspective. The staff was very nice. They showed us all around. The pricing was probably the best. It was a little bit more up our line for cost, but it really just didn't suit our needs for him. We would not be going back there or considering that one at all. The dining area was nice, but everything was very dated. It was very old. It's been around for a long time. We didn't participate in anything. However, it was a very thorough tour. I would say anything as dated as that facility really is in need of upgrades. It's very dated. All the apartments, their ceilings were really low. From that perspective, it was kind of gloomy and dark. I think any kind of update or renovation would be something that would really help that place.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging is a nonprofit facility. It's very inexpensive, but high quality. Not only is the living space high quality, but the activities as well, and they give you medical support. They're very interested in helping you grow and have a better life and not just housing you. They are a very old established place so it's a very organized and very strong company with professional staff. I eat gluten-free meals and they have all kinds of gluten-free selections and gluten-free bread. So, I can eat their food. They have tons of activities and they have a courtyard. It's hot outside, so nobody was there, but they have a mist you spray to cool you off when you enter their main area, which is kind of nice. They have a very large market on campus. So, people who can't drive out to shop could go there. They have a nice lounge, all kinds of exercise, swimming activities, and a gym where a guy tests you to see what you need.

My parents will be moving into Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. All facilities have a second person fee for food or whatever. They were running a special that the second person fee went away. My parents were literally saving $8400 a year, not having to pay for a second person. They get one meal a day and that's free, so that's dinner, which is the most expensive. They do not have to really cook, except for simple items like breakfast, whether it's cereal, and bacon and eggs. Then for lunch, they can do sandwiches, yogurt, or whatever. If it comes a point where my mom needs assisted living, my dad can move with her into assisted living. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care. If something happens where my dad can't take care of my mom anymore and she needs more assistance than he can give, they do not have to leave that facility and move elsewhere. They can just move into the assisted living portion of the facility. Erica was amazing. She answered all our questions. I toured first before I even took my parents there. They decided that was going to be the best place for them to live. They will be in a casita, and it has a full kitchen. Everything has been updated. They always put in new carpeting or new flooring when someone moves out. They have a front and back patio. They don't pay for electricity. It's just a nice, simple little home for them to live in. Everyone is super, super nice. All the residents inquired about my parents and were super excited that they were going to live there. One person said, "Hey, this is the best place." Everyone was super friendly. The most expensive meal, which is surf and turf, was only $10. If they didn't want to go all the way over to where the dining hall is, they could have food delivered for a $2 delivery fee. It is well-kept and very clean. It's a big campus. It's 40 acres, but there's a lot to do. Each area has its own courtyard area, where you can sit and relax. There is a pool. They even have a therapy center. If you get your doctor to write a therapy script for you, you can actually just take therapy there at the center. That way you do not have to actually go to a therapy center off campus. They always have stuff going on every month. They have Gold Rush Day. They have cruise week. They have concerts and game nights. There are all types of things you can do. You can even go out your front door, sit on the front porch, and talk to your neighbors (if that's what you want to do). The Wi-Fi and cable are all included. They even have a cable channel that will tell you what's going on during that day.

I toured the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. They have facilities for dogs, but it had to be under 30 pounds and my dog is larger than that so that kind of killed it. It had 800 people, which seemed to be a lot of people. The five-story building I wasn't impressed with the size was not something I was looking for. The fellow that I talked to and interviewed, we talked quite a bit, was very good, very informative, and was a good representative for them to choose. He was cordial, pleasant, and understanding. And we didn't have any problems at all just communicating with regards to the facility. It just wasn't what I was looking for. I was told there was a pool, and the facility itself was very nice. It's a little difficult to find the office as it was in the back. You'd have to go through a gated path and through security to get to the office, which I felt was a little unusual.

My mom moved to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. It seems to be laid out well and offers a lot of activities for people to choose from if they desire to. The food is good. It seems like it's also multifaceted having assisted living, independent living, and all that kind of stuff. It offers just about everything you could possibly need. My mom is in their independent living. I don't recall much of what the activities are, but they seem to be things that older people would be interested in or even people my age. I know they have someone come in to do your hair and your nails. A podiatrist also comes in; I think once a week or twice a week. They have a community store that's open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They have transportation to take you to and from Wal-Mart or places that have other stores in it. Her room is good. She's in a studio that has no carpet, which is good because it's a lot easier to clean up. It also seems big enough for her. It has a living area, a kitchen, and a bedroom.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was a great community. It was all self-contained and we had a lot of opportunities; It had three or four restaurants, and it had a little grocery store inside, which was convenient. They have religious services on Sunday, which was great. Everybody seemed to be nice, it was a great place. It looks great, I didn't notice anything that wasn't clean. The upkeep seemed great. It was a nice community. They have different classes and a little gym that we toured. They have activity classes and a big auditorium where they would do different things all the time. It seemed like they had a lot going on all the time. We looked at the menu. We didn't taste the food or see it, but the menu is extensive. They have three different restaurants there, and they had a little coffee shop where you could get coffee and pastry; that seemed nice. Their menu was great for their main restaurant, with a lot to choose from. The staff, was great and did a great job taking us around. She took us around in a little golf cart and showed us everything. She's nice. The place was great, but it doesn't fit what we're looking for.

I went to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging and visited the independent facilities. I believe they call them the Casitas, they're kind of like townhouses but all on one level, just one floor. On the four different sides of the area, they had these Casitas and that's what I would like to have if I move there. There was one lady, Dawn was her name, and she was superb. She took me on a tour and she treated me to lunch there in one of the restaurants, there's two of them there. I had a very good lunch with her. I just had a bacon sandwich and some soup, and that was very good. She took me around the whole area and showed me the gymnasium and other weightlifting exercise rooms. They also had a pool and areas outside for concerts like an amphitheater. They had a nice theater also.

My father just moved into Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. It's a very large community, and everybody seems to be pretty caring. Some of my family members have looked them up on the internet as well. I've gone in there and spoke to a couple of different people. They have lots of different avenues; if he falls, he's got a watch. There are always phones that can be ringing. There are all kinds of activities going on. It seems like he's in a safe environment. The people are very patient, which is important. His room is nice. They showed us one before, and then I saw it when I went to do all the paperwork. They offered us furniture if we wanted it, and I said I did. That was probably the only thing I didn't like. It didn't look like model furniture; but I didn't have to move my dad's junk from his house to this house, so that was a plus. I suggest you get model furniture if you come there. It looked like dragged bits and pieces from what people left behind. They have somebody that comes in to do his cleaning every other week. There's a laundry room right next door. They have somebody you can call just to change a light bulb (because they don't want them getting on chairs or whatever). They have staff ready to go for all that kind of thing. They have a huge list of activities. They have cards, yoga, bingo, church, spirituality, classes, gym, and a pool. Their TV has a channel for Glencroft that tells them all the things available to them. He could play bingo from his house if he wanted. It's a 40-acre senior living place. For him to walk to the dining room hall is good for him physically. He's got a walker, and I walked him over there. He lives in a court area. It's huge. There are lots of areas for walking, especially if they have pets. We ate there last night. My dad had mashed potatoes and soup. I had shrimp dinner. It was fine, nothing extraordinary. They got to keep it kind of bland, since they're feeding seniors.

I went to Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, and if I move, I'm going to be moving there. There's nothing available right now, and they'll notify me when there's something available. It was very good, very informative. I was amazed at how much has grown since my father was there a few years back. It was good then, and it looks to be the same quality as it was when he was there. Very caring people, lots to do, and it's just a nice place. I was looking into casitas, they're little homes. I saw the worship area, the gym, there's three restaurants, and there's a store where you can buy things. The lady that gave us the tour was very knowledgeable, very pleasant, caring, and she paid attention to details; it's an amazing place.

We did the grand tour at Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. What I like the best is the fact that it seemed like everybody had their living area, and it was more like an apartment than a hospital room. Their rooms open into a courtyard instead of a hallway, so residents can go out and enjoy nature. They had a lot of activities planned for a wide variety of tastes. The restaurant looked like an actual restaurant that they could treat themselves to. Their exercise area was a huge room with somebody on staff in that room, who really seemed engaged in getting them to move and helping them if they needed help. They encourage them to use the facilities. They're the only facility that had a pool. Since my brother was scuba diver, that's important. I like the fact that they have a choice of being able to go to their confined meal area or if they wanted to go to one of the other places. They could pay just a small fee to one of the other restaurants on site, which offers some more mobility. It is set up like an apartment complex. It is more like a home that they can stay in. We looked at their independent, assisted, and a small section of their memory care. They were definitely our number 1 choice. All of the staff were great that we met.

The price at Glencroft Center for Modern Aging was good. I like the way that they have there a trainer and exercise area. The only negative about it is it's such a big community. My impression of the staff is very good. Their 1-bedroom is about the same as the studio in the other places. They have a lot of outdoor areas and the place seems to be well-maintained. They have pretty much the same standard stuff as everybody, like bingo.

They were great at Glencroft Center for Modern Aging. I just didn't like the layout of the place as well as I did the other one I visited. It was multistory. They had an elevator. It seemed like they were a lot more closed in, they didn't have as good a dining area and they're way more expensive. I didn't see anybody doing any jazzercise in the pool. I went a little bit later, so that was probably the reason because it was so darn hot that day. I didn't see as many people interacting with the elderly, maybe it's because they were all busy. The other place was way more welcoming. There was a couple of spots like gathering areas or rooms in the different parts of the building. They had the activities room or something like that, but it could have been that I was there at the wrong time of day or they were busy eating lunch.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging is tops and I think they have more amenities. The people that I saw and met were all happy, and I didn't see anyone that didn't have a smile on their face. It's not as new as the other ones, but it is well kept up and feels more like home than the others. They have so many activities there; if you can't find something to do that interests you, I think you've got a problem. They had a gym, they had woodworking, school, art, chess, puzzles, entertainment, library, and many things. The person who accommodated me was very knowledgeable and I like her.

I visited Glencroft Center for Modern Aging three years ago. They took me on a tour on a golf cart, and we went all the way around there. It was a big campus. They have all kinds of amenities, especially when families visit. There were places to eat, a post office, a convenience store, and a church. You don't have to leave with your loved one. I liked the fact that it was a locked area because it's memory care. They had private rooms, a patio, an open area to watch TV, and the nurse's station was pretty close to the vicinity of the rooms. I was just really impressed. The aides were very friendly. They were all waving to the residents like they knew them. They were very open to everything. They even showed me the bathrooms. I took pictures and videos of the facility. It was clean and looked very nice. There was no urine smell. It was pretty well kept. The rooms were pretty big and somebody was in one of them, looking very cozy. It allows you to bring in all your personal belongings and decorate it the way you want it. I saw a vacant room, which also looked good.

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging didn't have a clean look, and you had to go quite a distance to the little independent homes, but they had about 128 independent homes, which was really pretty awesome. They had a covered swimming pool, a lot of activities, and the staff was not too bad. The living atmosphere was OK too. I think it's one of the largest facilities in the country. It's huge, had three restaurants to choose from, a great gym, a big auditorium where they had speakers come in, movie nights, game nights, and party nights. They had all kinds of stuff. They also had a thrift store and a little grocery store. It was just like being in a small town, really. Now your organization has done some follow up, but when I have some questions about some things, like the lady that had booked me, Sarah I think her name was, she sent me a list of the places, but hadn't sent all the dates and times. She gave me the dates and times over the phone, but then when I called and asked to have that sent to me, it took a long while to get it. I had to call about three times before I got it. I had somebody send that to me, and so I was a little disappointed with that.

We toured Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, and I can't really say anything negative about the tour or the facility. The parts we liked the best were the workout room and the indoor pool. We feel that would help us be more active, which would benefit us by helping us get stronger and preventing us from falling. We're not falling now, but as soon as we get weaker from being inactive, then then there's that potential. As far as the assisted living facility goes, it's very nice, and the model we looked at was pretty much what they advertised. We have a king-sized bed, so we needed eleven-and-a-half feet to fit it, along with a table and lamps, in our room. Their bedroom was twelve-and-a-half feet, so we were we were pleased that we could fit everything, because it was mandatory for us that we keep the bed. Because of my COPD, I needed to sleep with my head raised, and a couple of pillows just didn't work. The staff who assisted us on the tour was very pleasant, very nice, and knowledgeable. She answered all the questions that we had, and she helped us. We were looking further into it when we went there, and they gave us information on their different levels of care, but we didn't feel we required assisted living. We take our own showers, we bathe ourselves, we dress ourselves, and we take care of our medications on our own, so now we're thinking more of independent living. In the case of Glencroft, housekeeping is not included, so we'd have we'd pay for that. When we took the tour, we were only interested in assisted living, so we haven't seen any of the housing for independent living.

I toured Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, and Sue, our sales agent, was very personable. She answered all of our questions to the best of her abilities, even though she couldn't show us all the amenities. Their campus was getting new air conditioners, so they got 3/4 of the parking lot blocked, but we were really impressed with the facility. If we don't have anything else to look at, this will likely be the one we approach. The biggest thing about the place was the units that we would be likely moving into felt a lot like home. The apartments were bigger than what we have now, and Sue made sure she showed us options that were within our current budget. She actually managed to work it out. She showed us a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment, and I liked the fact that it was a single story, so nobody's upstairs banging on the floor. They do religious services since they are a non-profit Christian organization, and what we saw on the menu really impressed us. She invited us back if we wanted to see all the amenities and community events that we were not able to see, and then we'll schedule a longer visit. They just need to make sure that there's a way to get around the entire property in about two or three hours. I know they are a very large property, but we wanted to see the other apartments, and then some of the amenities, because all we saw was the food, and we had to go a long way around the 40 acre property to get there.

We toured Glencroft in Glendale. The room that they showed us was kind of like a two-bedroom little apartment with a common living room, a separate bath, and a galley-style kitchenette with no stove. It would have certainly been adequate for my friend. She would have had a roommate, but with different bedrooms, that would have been nice. They also showed us the entire facility. It had a very nice restaurant where the residents can go. They also have a couple of other smaller dining rooms for the patients, and there's a swimming pool. They have three or four different buildings, and each building is something different. Memory care is in one building, assisted living is in the other, and so on. For the tour, they had us come at lunch, so we had lunch there. The menu was like at a regular restaurant where you can order your food, and they had a great selection. I remember I had a vegetarian hamburger that was really good. It was very clean and very pleasant in the restaurant, too.

I love Glencroft and so does my mom, but she doesn't qualify to get in there, and I can't afford it. We saw assisted and independent living. It was very pleasant and everyone was wonderful. It seemed very efficient and I just really love it. The workers were very knowledgeable. It was excellent. My mother loves the apartment room. They have a pool where someone can assist you with different things that you need. If you're in a wheelchair or if you need some type of aid, there is someone there that can assist you. They also have a place where they have entertainment and where they can sit and watch on stage. They do that regularly. The layout is good especially if you can get around or for some people that may not be able to walk around.

We have decided that my mom is going to go at Glencroft in Glendale. For one thing they took ALTECS, which, with where my mom is now they did not take ALTECS, that's a big plus. The place was clean. The people were very friendly. The rooms were bigger. My wife and I have been there because her father have been there. For the little time that I was there, I would say that the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The residents that I saw seemed very nice. I'm sure they do activities I just don't know how much, as far as in the assisted-living. They have transportation, they have a movie theater type of place, and they got a dining room that's a restaurant type of facility.

We moved into Glencroft Senior Living. It's a Christian community with 900 residents. You can hear a hymn through the PA system three times a day, and they're above board in their dealings. We even have a TV station here where we get daily briefings, but we have had the virus here rather bad, and I have not been able to take a tour. The food is very disappointing. Every once in a while you get something decent, but the food could be better. Everyone here is a five. I have a beautiful place; it's a two-bedroom, two-bath casita. It's like brand-new, has a beautiful kitchen with granite countertops, and everything is just very nice. I really like this place, but t's expensive here. Marketing said this was an all exclusive place, but she did not explain that I would have to pay another $30 for the curtain rod I had installed, and that was disappointing. They just need to let people know exactly what's available in the maintenance package.

Glencroft Senior Living had a lot of amenities. They had everything that father needed to fit his needs. They had a decent size living space. The staff who showed me around was nice and friendly. It was old, but it looked clean. It looked like they had a wide array of food. It felt homey, too.

Glencroft Senior Living is huge, it's a 40-acre site and they have multiple towers and multi-level buildings. Their apartments were nice, but it's a little older community and has been there for 20 years. I met the staff who assisted me during the tour, they were very informed and seemed to be the director, and they knew what was going on. She was very friendly and helpful. They had multiple small dining areas which I thought were kind of nice. They were preparing the food in the kitchen somewhere else then bringing them in the dining area, and then bringing the residents in to eat. They had all kinds of activities available, depending on the resident's health and mind function. I would recommend them, but because they're so huge, they're not quite as nice as the smaller communities. They told me that they have 800 residents.

My wife has moved into Glencroft Senior Living. She loves it there. The food, amenities, and the people she has met have been fantastic. They got three restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, and an exercise facility. They have entertainment every Friday night, they have buses, they have laundry facilities, they got church right there, and they also have a small general store and a game room. Basically, everything that my wife would ever want is right there.

Glencroft Senior Living had regular kitchens in their apartments except for the studio. It was very nice, but they only had one meal a day. I love the central location of it being in Glendale. It's in the middle of town and close to everything. I liked the friendliness of the people. Everybody was having a nice time sitting in the lounge and talking, and they had a pool table. They had little places where you could buy food other than the dining area. It's kept up beautifully and there was some foliage. It was an older building that had elevators. The studio was extremely large, and the one-bedroom was very nice. It's peaceful and quiet.

My sister will be going to Glencroft. She liked it because it's faith-based. You get a lot for what you pay for. It has an indoor pool, which is really important because she loves the water aerobics. They have their own bank and five different restaurants they can choose. She got more for her money there. They offer movies, exercises, their own little grocery store, and a primary care doctor right on campus that she could use every day. They have different doctors who come in for skin checks and a podiatrist. It's an older facility that's been there for a long time, and it's not as fancy as some of the other ones. The food was very good.

Glencroft has all levels of care- from independent living to memory care that also includes assisted living. It's a little dated but they're good, and so far I highly recommend them. It's a big place and I think they have about 500 people. We've eaten at their restaurants and it's good. One of the best things about the place is that people there are very caring. It's a faith-based community. They have all the usual activities like cards, excursions and other stuff.

We liked Glencroft Senior Living better. It's a big facility with independent living, assisted living, and caregiving. It's a whole block long and one of the largest independent living communities in the city. They had all kind of amenities, transportation with buses and automobiles, laundry rooms, and pool. I talked to one of the marketing representatives who was great and went into detail on everything. My daughter was with me, and we were both impressed. We ate in one of the dining rooms and the food was great. They had a mailroom, several types of rooms, and a nice theater there. I selected one-bedroom, one-bath with a kitchen, pantry, and air-conditioning. I'm looking at a renovated place on the second floor with carpets and closets. It's the best. The staff and food were outstanding.

Glencroft Senior Living had apartments that I could afford and a lot of activities. They had independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Mike took me around and was absolutely great. He showed me three different kinds of apartments. I ate an OK meal there. Everything about the place was fine, and it was closer to town and closer to where the activities are. Their transportation will take you to more places compared to others. This place turned out to be the best among all the places I've seen. It was the biggest senior place in the state.

My least favorite was the Glencroft. I didn't like it. It was old and not modern. I didn't like the arrangement of it either. It was a very large community. I do know that there were lovely people there, but I didn't like the layout of it. The staff was very nice, of course, and I know there was activities there; however, we didn't like it.

Glencroft Senior Living was exceedingly well thought of. It's been there for a long time and the biggest in the country. They were very honest and upfront with me. The price they gave me was significantly lower because I'm a veteran. They were absolutely up-to-date with everything I would need or appreciate. They had a glass-covered indoor pool, a restaurant, and an auditorium. I will be having a screened-in porch, and there are so many freebies that I would be entitled to.

Glencroft Senior Living was OK, but it looked more like an apartment complex instead of a community. It just wasn’t what I was looking for. I remember that the dining area was very nice, and I really enjoyed that. Nice rooms but not memorable. Everybody seemed content.

Glencroft seemed to fit our needs. We were looking for self pay, and then once the money run outs, they go to Medicaid, and they do that. The actual place was nice. It just needs a little updating, but it's nice, and the people were friendly.

I will say Glencroft Senior Living was clean. The people were professional. It appeared friendly, not so much institutionalized. It seemed more like apartments than assisted living. They had a restaurant there and a beauty shop. They had daily activities like crafts.

Glencroft's apartments are larger than most of the other places. It has a full kitchen that she really wanted. The mobility of it seals the deal, and she will be moving in. She is in the wheelchair most of the time, and many of the places that we looked at did not have the vans that accommodate wheelchairs. They do have different activities and tours.

I really liked the apartment at Glencroft Senior Living, but the place was so big that I think I would have a hard time getting around. It had a grocery store, a bank, and an ATM place. My mom has been there for about three months now. She is in an independent living apartment. I know that if things get worse then we can easily move her into the assisted living. This place has it all independent living, assistant living, memory care nursing care and rehab. And older community but very very clean. There are so many services they offer it's just too many to put here. I feel very comfortable having my mother live there. I recommend you take a tour if you have someone who needs A retirement community. I was very impressed

My mother-in-law will be moving to Glencroft tomorrow into a one-bedroom apartment. We met several residents; everyone there is so friendly, smiling all of the time, and always saying, "hi." The staff is very respectful, friendly, and seemed sincere. It has all levels of care and good food. They had a carnival over in memory care, and last week, they had an Old West event going on. They have card games, trips to the local stores, and a swimming pool with a Jacuzzi. I really like it.

Glencroft is set up more to take care of patients, and they seem they are generally concerned. They have been in touch with me in everything. They got hospice involved and do a wellness check on her. It makes me feel better. I have been there about seven times and there are usually a ton of nurses on the floor. It seems like they take care of the people better. It’s old, but it’s very clean inside and outside and very nice. It doesn’t have a nursing home smell, and actually smells like a house.

I happen to be in a little house called Casita at Glencroft. You can also go to their three-story apartments. We have great maintenance for everything, security, different people coming over to help you, and medical help. I wear a thing around my neck that I can beep if I need them, and they check up on you. They're very good as far as providing help. The food depends on what you order. Some people aren't on a meal plan; I happen to be on one right now, but it isn't great nor high-end. There are plenty of activities, but I haven't tried them yet. There's swimming, games, entertainment on Friday night, church on the grounds, and lots of other activities. I have a two-bedroom with bath, living room, and a full kitchen, and I have everything in it.

They did a bait and switch so to speak with my mom. They quoted us $40,000 but two days later, after getting my mom excited to move there, they came back and said they raised the price the day after we said we wanted the unit, and now the price is $75,000. Just be cautious if you are given a price.

Glencroft also has memory care, but there was a big waiting list to get into their memory care. Now, this was a few months ago that I went and looked at Glencroft, and I loved the place. But, again, my mom was terrified of meeting new people; she just didn't feel comfortable, and she is to the point where she needs to stay in her home with somebody because her home is her security unit now. She needs to either stay there with somebody coming in, or she will probably have to go to memory care. And like I said, there is a waiting list for the memory care at Glencroft. The amenities were very nice. Their lunchroom was nice, and they had a post office, a bank, and a Church on the property. They had independent living, assisted living, and memory care facilities, and they had even a little grocery store right on the property. The beauty of Glencroft was that it is only about three miles from me. I could have moved in there too. It was like moving into a two-bedroom apartment, so it was very nice. But like I said, she is beyond assisted living.

The medical facilities were on the ground at Glencroft. They had food resources as well. It fitted what I desired. I looked at the two-bedroom apartment. I thought it was roomy enough for us, and yet it was not so large to give us unnecessary space. It was well laid out. They had physical and mental activities. The people that I had talked to were very friendly, cordial, and inviting. I thought the financial arrangement was good.

Mom has been in there a little over a month now. Glencroft was affordable, and she got her paperwork for HUD housing approval, so they also have that. The staff is excellent. They have been there for quite a while, and they are very good. The food is very good; she loves it. It was not easy at first. She did not want to go there, but she loves it now. They have lots of activities and interests. They have regular outings or scheduled outings monthly, they have guests that come in, and they have all kinds of things going on, which is really good, so she can choose what she wants to go to. I think it is everything she needs.

The apartments looked really nice. I really liked them. They had a little grocery store and a very nice-looking dining room, and I thought mom could do a lot of socializing. From what I have seen when I went in there to visit my former husband, they seemed to be very caring and very patient. Our daughters told me that they were very pleased with his care. The area I did look at and really liked at Glencroft were the one-bedroom apartments, and they had three-storey apartments that were taller and nicer, but what I liked about it was you can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner or you can just have breakfast and make your own meals, you could have as much housecleaning as you wanted, and laundry if you want it.

Glencroft was given to me by a lady from an online listing. I liked the one staff member that showed us around. She showed us the apartment and the facility. The room is very nice and spacious. The one we were looking for my sister is for independent living. I would like to have seen more socialization. The facility is spread out, and a lot of it is outdoors versus indoors. I didn't get to see a lot of places where they could have their activities and socialize with the other members. It was very nice though, and I liked it.

Glencroft Assisted Living is a nice facility. My mom lived in this facility. You can go right into assisted living, and their setup is not private, so you can go in and get a state benefit if you ran out of money. She liked the people, but I just don’t think she was active.

My mom is now at Glencroft. It has all stages of retirement. They have independent and critical care there. She is in independent right now. She has been there for maybe six years. I like it best mainly because she knows a lot of people there. She likes their swimming pool too; she swims everyday. Also she really likes doing their volunteer work. It keeps her occupied, and not just sitting around waiting to die. The volunteer thing is a big thing to her. However, the thing that she is not happy with about them, is that they're making changes. They got a new management and they have gotten rid of a lot of old staff, which she was very upset about. They are making a lot of changes at one time, instead of gradually doing it. That's what's gotten her a little upset. Also, they need to improve on the food. My mom doesn't like how they prepare their food. They always leave out a little detail of something, i.e., they have Chinese food without soy sauce.

I had a quick visit in Glencroft and I find the place smaller compared to the others I toured but it's nice and very clean. The bathroom is designed in a way that it's not easy for my mom to move around. The people are very nice. My mom needs a place where everything is easy and readily available for her and I didn't feel that Glencroft was the best place for her given her condition.

Glencraft is the very best at what they can help with, and that is caring for your family member as though they were part of their own family. It is a privately owned facility and every service they provide is the epitome of personal. The administrators are extremely careful to select staff who not only care for each resident with great love and compassion, but also care for the family and friends of the residents as though an extension of your family. Each staff member displays an obvious passion for what they do. This small home environment was given to us as a gift from God. My friend was only with them for about two months before she passed, and these extraordinary people fell in love with a woman who was already in advanced stages of dementia and had very little capacity to express her own gratitude for the much needed love and care she received. Even when my friend passed these people grieved as though she was their own family whom they had lost. Dementia is such a cruel condition and Glencroft and its Staff offset that cruelty with compassion and love that made it all better; you know, like mommy kissing the hurt so it would go away. They count it a privilege that you would trust them with the one you love. I could go on and on, but just visit them; you'll see what I'm referring to. Oh, and the cost is the best you will find anywhere! This is wholly sincere, and without exaggeration. Take a tour, you won't be disappointed. Thank you again Glencroft!

This is a great facility in that is is totally self contained. There is a care center, an assisted living apts and independent living. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The staff is friendly and open with everyone. They greet residents by name and seem to know family & visitors when they approach them. There is a branch bank on the grounds plus a convenience grocery store. A resident need not leave the property if they wish not to. there is also a coffee shop where several residents were sitting about visiting with each other and reading the paper, they greeted other residents as they entered the shop, they are hobby & craft shops also - a quilting studio, library, barber shop, beauty shop, church services for all denominators regardless of what religion a person is, there is also an exercise program which is voluntary and people there were very friendly and accepting of all who joined in whether they could do the excercises or not ( I saw one resident assisting another resident who had balance problems with the excercise) there is also rehabilitation services to help residents with balance and strength and the staff was very patient and kind with all the residents. I felt very comfortable at this facility.

Glencroft is a well-established retirement community, with all levels of care. They have upgraded and remodeled many of their buildings, and the grounds are filled with beautiful rose bushes and mature trees. They have a quilting room, as well as planned activities, and residents are always out and about. The staff is very friendly, and the food is fantastic. It's not fancy, but it does feel like home.
