My dad has moved into The Renaissance of Florence. It's a very nice facility. They're very sweet there, and it's close to me. The rooms are spacious. It's a nice place. They have activities and they give them a calendar. If they don't show up, they come and get them and ask them if they would like to come. They have different Bible studies, and they take them out to lunch occasionally. They have physical activities like kickball, but they're sitting down. They have bingo, and they had a therapy dog come in the other day. From everybody I've met, they're just over the top. They're amazing, very sweet, and very attentive. They care about the residents. I did try the food one day and it was excellent. My dad said it's really good. That was one of the things that the lady that signed us up for. She said she's worked at three or four different places, and the food here is the best she's ever had. The value for money is good, the rooms were bigger than in another facility, and they were cheaper.

My mother is at The Renaissance of Florence for assisted living. They have excellent caregivers but poor management. I think the people that take care of my mother are pretty good, but they have a high turnover of employees. And their management doesn't communicate well with the families of the clients. Money has been stolen from my mother at that facility. The management there is awful. I'm dissatisfied with their whole management operation, and I'm glad to be moving my mother out of there. My mother doesn't participate in all of their activities, but their programs are certainly satisfactory to above average. My mother complains about the food because she says they get the same food served repeatedly, but it's good quality. Overall, their facilities are excellent. It's a beautiful building, it's very modern, and it's very nice, but they don't provide good care. They're also overpriced.

I looked at some communities and liked Brookdale Florence the best. Here, I have a bedroom and a living room. My room has two rooms but most of the others only have one room. They also clean the rooms every day. Everything, so far, has been fine. The food has been good, too. They have an exercise program and a bunch of activities that I haven't participated in yet. They have had some food repeat, but what they serve is good. The activities are good, too.

I am in assisted living at Brookdale Florence right now. I have a good impression because it had a good reputation and is really beautiful. The staff is very friendly. I live alone in my room, and I love it. We have a few activities. The food is good. It costs me a little less than where I used to live in Florida.

Brookdale Florence was really nice and had a courtyard. They showed three sizes of room that were adequately sized and set up like an apartment. There were several different hallways and a nice eating area and kitchenette that all the residents can use. You can go and eat at any time. I liked that the rooms had a microwave and a small refrigerator. They went on trips to Walmart, the grocery store, and doctors' appointments. I was really impressed with it. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.

My parents are moving into Merrill Gardens soon. The rooms are nice and spacious. I think they're more than adequate. They do a little remodeling after a resident leave or when they get a new one coming in. They make it all nice. They also have a lot of activities. They have regular church services, exercises for elderly, all kinds of board games, and group discussing history. They have planned activities basically every day.

Merrill Gardens is the nicest assisted living home I have ever visited. All of the common areas have lovely decor. The living areas are private with very spacious rooms. Each living area consists of a bedroom, bathroom, and living room. There is a nurse on site 24/7 to my understanding, which is comforting to the residents. I really like their dining area. It is very attractive and spacious. Actually, both the living and common areas are quite a bit more spacious than some facilities I have been to. The lobby is very large with plenty of seating. There is also a piano that residents can play if they wish. Sometimes musicians come to play in the lobby for the guests as well. The space and seating is especially appreciated in situations such as this because there is no feeling of being too crowded. As an elderly person myself, I hope that I am always able to live in my own home without assistance. However, if I am not able to live independently I cannot think of a nicer place to live.

Merrill Gardens at Florence is a great assisted living facility. It is located close to the beautiful St. Florian, Alabama right outside of Florence. The facility has very nice grounds and is in a pretty nice building. The services there provided by the staff was excellent in my opinion. All of the residents seemed to have some friendly connection with the staff members that they knew. It seemed like a very down to earth place that provided a sense of home. The activities and things that the residents were able to go to or use throughout the day were very nice. The residents enjoyed most things at Merrill Gardens. It is very open to family and friends visiting and has places for people to gather and visit their family member and have a nice time. The food services provided at Merrill Gardens are also exceptional. If I ever had to place a family member in an assisted living facility, Merrill Gardens would be a top choice.
