"We toured The Goldton at Athens. It has its little buildings, and the yard is taken care of, which is what we're interested in. Independent living seemed to aid in the transition that we needed. They also have a dining area and exercise room."

"I visited this assisted living facility and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was. The residents I met were happy and were having a good time socializing. The common areas were clean and nicely decorated. They have a vegetable garden in the Spring and the residents help shell peas and snap beans. Then the cook prepared the vegetables for their lunch or supper that day. They have an exercise room with treadmills and other equipment suitable for the residents. It is not a large facility and the staff is kind and caring with the residents. Ivy Crest has a fish tank, birds, and dogs for everyone to enjoy. A hair dresser comes weekly to cut hair, give perms, and do wash and sets. The facility provides transportation to doctor appointments if needed. I would recommend this facility for anyone that is able to take care of their personal needs but wants the security of nursing staff and caregivers. "

"My mother was at The Summit Senior Living Community for a year and a half. It's a lovely and clean facility. The staff was friendly. It's well run. The activities were great. They're very caring. My mother felt very loved there. We hope we can get her back there, but that's not going to happen because it is assisted living, not full-care. The dining area was very neat and very clean. My mother had a lovely little room with her personal effects. Everything was clean and neat. The staff was great. We never lost clothes. She's taken care of."

"My dad will be going up to Keestone too, but momma went first. It is a beautiful place, and everybody up there is just super nice and polite. There is like a 50's dining room setup, all kinds of stuff. It is a great place. She went in there, but maybe thirty minutes later, they came in, asked her what she wanted for lunch,and they grabbed her a plate and all that. And in her room, she's got enough room for a bed, two dressers, a recliner, and her clothes. It is super nice. They have a big movie theater. They are showing Gone With the Wind next week. They said that they have enough activities that would bring the people from out of their rooms. The rooms aren't big enough that they would want to stay in there all the time, and that is to get them out and to mingle and do all kinds of stuff. They have all kinds of TV rooms; they just have everything. I couldn't say anything about it that I didn't like. What I saw of it was beautiful. "

"I moved my mom to Village Manor. We chose it because it has lower rent, and they have a menu she can choose from. The food is very good, and there is plenty of it. Their dining area and their rooms are large and spacious. It also has a bigger layout and space. The staff is very positive and pleasant. They have activities like games, exercises, and bible study, and they have people come in to sing and play the piano. "

"Five Star Facility. This Facility is a very home like setting. Friendly caring staff that cater to the special needs of the resident. The Director is very professional and addresses any issues that may arise promptly. Bailey Manor was the answer to our prayers and continues to serve our needs. They have an activities director that provides daily entertainment/activities for the residents to enjoy and participate in. I recommend this facility and give the staff a 5 star rating as well as the facility. It is always clean and maintained to the highest standards. The food is just like home and is well prepared and served hot."

"How do mentally and physically challenged adults spend their days? This facility in Fayetteville, TN, gives these people a facility to attend everyday, Monday through Friday. They enjoy one on one training with trained staff working on their basic needs, such as communication, work skills, cooking, cleaning, feeding theirselves. Skills Development Services also has homes for some the people, which trained staff lives with them around the clock. How lucky are these folks to have caring people? Some of them would be stuck in nursing homes or state facilities which, in my opinion, does not help them expanded their minds. Skill Development Services also works with local employers to contract out work, so the mentally and physically challanged can earn money, while other employers hire these people to work at their facilities. Our local community is blessed and fortunate to have a day facility for the mentally and physically challanged. Some of the families rely on Skills Development to reinforce what they have been teaching their relatives. The staff are always kind and considerate, even when I stop in unannounced. How Great is That!!! I hope every community has a day facility and/or home facility that people can learn to expand their horizons! "

"My dad has been at Athens Health and Rehabilitation for over a month now. He's a handful and is declining right now but they're doing a really good job taking care of him. They've all been wonderful to me and my dad. They've done everything they can to take care of him. His room is clean. I have nothing bad to say about that. They have a calendar of activities to do there but my dad has not participated in them. I appreciate what they do for him. I couldn't do their job, and my hats off to anybody that does what they do."

"The people were wonderful at Morning Pointe Of Columbia. THey had a very, very warm staff of people. I took my mom to this community first. The food was delicious, and the rooms were smaller. The worst part about it was that they didn’t have closets; that’s the one thing that turned me off totally. There was a rack in the bathroom across the wall, but weren't any doors on it for your storage. "

"I toured Poplar Estates Senior Living Community. They're the best that I found. The staff was excellent. They're personable and very knowledgeable, and they take care of the people with an excellent passion. They've got outdoor spaces. They've got a central courtyard."

"We visited The Bridge at Columbia's assisted living community. It meets our needs, and it's a very nice place. The food was also good, and they have had very little turnover in their staff. It just seemed like the right place. It's got everything, including a nursing staff. They've got arts and crafts, entertainment, and different outings. They will even do your laundry. The apartments are not large, of course, but just very nice. The cleanliness was fantastic. It's just phenomenal how well taken care of everything was and how tasteful and pretty it is. The facility is in very good shape."

"The loving care our Dad receives at LifeCare is topnotch!!!! The administrative and nursing staffing team go out of their way to ensure his every need is taken care of.
